Kyle was lying behind the stone hidden from outside view.
Sky took a small dagger and held it in his hand but upon seeing Kyle's muscle tense up, he put the dagger back where it originally was. He took out a small box from his void. From that void, he took out a smaller version of a stainless steel scissor.
"I don't have any medical scissors or any scissors mostly used in a hospital or medical facility so you'll have to deal with this." He said as he cut the cloth he had put on Kyle's wound yesterday and then took out a small piece of clean white cloth and tore it into a somewhat thin stripe and folded it in half and used it to bandage the wound after he had disinfected it. "Hang on tight, almost done."
During this period, Kyle was just quiet, staring at Sky carefully and observing him.
"Yeah I finished up." Sky said as he had mostly re-bandaged him back up. "You can disinfect your face by yourself."
Sky passed a few things to Kyle so he could disinfect the wound by himself.
"Your injuries heal real quick, you know?"
"Only major injuries. It takes for me a while to heal, torn ligaments or minor injuries." He replied as he struggled to disinfect his face.
"So when you are injured everything about yourself improves, like your strength, speed, recovery speed right? So does your intelligence also improve when you are injured?"
"Nope, everything increases except for intelligence, durability and pain tolerance." He replied as he was suffering, trying to disinfect himself. It was clear that it was his first time doing this. He would often almost drop the cloth with disinfectant and almost dumped all the liquid form the disinfectant out as he was applying it to the cloth,
"…" Sky seeing this very sad, or even miserable, try to bandage themselves up, made him feel sympathetic. "Do you want me to help you?"
"…No thanks" Kyle responded with a bit of hesitation at first.
"…" the silence between them was increasing at an incredible rate.
'At this rate, our conversation might just be the equivalent of 2 mute people trying to communicate with each other by not using sign language.' Sky thought almost sighing for what felt like the hundredth time.
"Hey, can I ask you a question?" Kyle asked, oddly being the one to initiate a conversation.
"Yeah sure." Sky replied almost immediately, almost cutting off Kyle.
"Why did you not change this up?" He asked as he pointed at his left leg that Sky had made a makeshift leg cast.
"Because I don't need to. Actually, I wonder if you can heal broken bones quickly. Can you?"
"Somewhat quicker than others. It takes me around 60 hours for it to heal completely while a torn ligament takes around 83 hours."
"I'm pretty sure that's not, somewhat." Sky replied, a bit shocked at Kyle's lack of understanding of the standard of normal people.
"Let's move out when the sun rises again." Sky said, his eyes focused on the setting sun.
"No, let's move out after a short nap?"
"In the middle of night!?" Sky exclaimed, turning his head towards Kyle, with shock in his face. "Are you crazy?"
"No, it's best to do it now. I doubt the fiend rouges move much in the night so they'll probably be easier to attack if we do it at night."
"But we don't know their base of operations do we? So how are we gonna even attack them?"
"I have a bit of blood from one of the members in a secret compartment of my sword handle, check it."
As he heard his words, Sky stood up and grabbed the sword and looked at the handle. It turns out that the cap of the handle was twistable and when Sky twisted it open, he saw that around half of the handle was hollow, and in that space was a small capsule with blood.
"I suppose you want to use a monster to find their base right?"
"Yeah, If I remember correctly, there was a monster who would find and hunt creatures by smelling their blood. It's a being that could track the victim even if there was no trail."
"The foul worm…"
The foul worm was a monster that was almost classified as a fiend, not due to his strength but due to its ability to hunt. The foul worm, contrary to its name, didn't look like a worm. It had multiple mouths and was pure black in colour. It had the ability to change its colour at will even though it didn't need to. It had a large humanoid structure with specially long arms and legs compared to other parts of itself. A fully grown adult stood at 8 ft tall, had razor sharp teeth and had 5 mouths, one under its nose, one in each of his palm and lastly two of his mouth were in where he was supposed to be.
It had a nose but no nose hole and had no ears. It had the ability to figure out the target's current condition by smelling their urine, waste, blood or even sweat. It hunted injured people using this and avoided fully healthy being even if they were much weaker than him
Sky clearly remembers the time it appeared and attacked them, it ran quickly, ignoring them and held an injured ally of his with his hands that bit down on him. It ran quickly, completely ignoring him and leaving them helpless as they took their injured ally.
It's a being that attacks only the injured, hides, runs and can hunt it precisely even if they are grouped up.
And this monster was going to be used in their plan.
Sky looked at Kyle with serious eyes and stared at him with a cold look, "Are you sure that the person whose blood you have is still injured?"
"Not a 100% sure but I doubt he managed to heal a stab in the liver that quickly."
Sky stood quietly for a while thinking of the situation. He knew that the person was probably still injured but he was starting to doubt if he should really help this knight fight and steal back the white stone.
'It's risky for sure, but I don't wanna roam around for a long time trying to find the so-called kingdom that they had formed and I don't think it's wise of me to join the fiend rouges since I don't think we will have a similar goal and it was clear that the side the knight was stronger due to the sheer numbers and the fact that the fiend rouges are hiding from them and avoided a fair battle with them. I also doubt that they can keep defeating the other side as according to Kyle's testimony, the leader is also clever so eventually they will run out of tricks.' Sky contemplated, his head feeling heavy and heavier.
"Let's sleep first then we joke out since I think you should have recovered enough to at least move due to your fatty recovery" Sky said changing his expression to that of a slight but gentle smile.
"Sure, make sure to wake up within 6-8 hours and wake me up if you wake me up." Saying that, the knight laid down on the floor and closed his eyes trying to sleep.
While this was happening, Sky was observing Kyle, his smile disappearing.
'1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11' Sky thought as he counted the rhythm and the total amount of Kyle's breathing. 'He's asleep' he thought as he laid on the stone and calmed his breath.
His head was being heavier and heavier, his barrier or to be more specific a certain seal was being broken.
Sky took a deep breadth and on the palm of his hands came out threads but these looked rather odd, these threads formed in the palm of his left hand and a small blade-like thing with a sheathe attached to it was coming out of left arm, just like how his items came out of his void. The blade was completely covered with his thread.
He unsheathed the blade. The blade was jagged with a twin-tiered tip that split into 2 uneven peaks or blades.
Etched runes that glowed with a dark purple pulsed faintly along the flat of the blade, winding like living script from hilt to point. In the middle of this was a specific rune that looked like ᚱᚢᚾᛅᛋ although it was looking a bit faded.The handle was wrapped in a dark, shadowy material, with a slightly curved grip that molded naturally into the wielder's palm. It felt less like a sword and more like a relic that had chosen its master.
Sky gently touched the middle of the blade where the rune ᚱᚢᚾᛅᛋ lied, he used his threads in his finger as he gently pressed pressed his hand over the specific rune. The threads disappeared as the rune began to glow and Sky's heavy stopped becoming heavy, becoming light once again.
He let out a sigh of relief and unsheathed his blade and wrapped the string around the whole blade and let it disappear into the void in his left palm.
