Chapter 34 - Chapter 34 The Masked Man

The little maidservant was so frightened that her face turned pale and she instinctively wanted to scream.

But before she could make a sound, a rough and strong hand covered her mouth in time.

"Don't make a sound. If you dare to make any noise, I will kill you. Do you understand?"

Xu Yunfan lowered his voice and said it in a low tone, trying to make himself look as ferocious as possible when threatening the little maidservant in his ear.

Upon hearing this, the little maidservant's eyes instantly filled with tears and nodded repeatedly in fear.

  "Okay, then I'll ask you."

Xu Yunfan still lowered his voice, and his voice was so low that it seemed to come from the darkness.

"Where is the warehouse where the Hu family stores their property?"

The little maidservant didn't dare to hesitate at all, and tremblingly pointed out the direction quickly.

Xu Yunfan looked up at the place the maidservant pointed, and saw that the building was brightly lit, as if it were daytime. He mused to himself,

"After all, the warehouse was a prime location, so it was understandably heavily guarded. But now that someone had infiltrated the Hu residence, the black-clad figure had drawn considerable attention, so the warehouse should be relatively empty."

Just as he was about to ask more questions, Xu Yunfan's brows furrowed slightly, and he instinctively sniffed.

"Why does it smell like urine?"

Confused, he glanced down at the little maidservant before him, barely 1.55 meters tall. She was trembling like a quail, looking incredibly pitiful.

"Frightened you to the point of peeing?"

Xu Yunfan couldn't help but whisper.

Hearing Xu Yunfan's blunt words, the little maidservant's fear was instantly replaced by an overwhelming sense of shame and indignation.

She buried her head in shame and gritting her teeth, her fear subsided. She remained silent, wishing she could find a crack in the ground to crawl into, wishing she were dead.

Seeing that Xu Yunfan hadn't moved, the little maidservant slowly raised her head, only to find that he was gone.

She opened her mouth, then quickly shut it, remembering her current state of disgrace.

If the other maids knew, she would never be able to hold her head up high again. If the master of the household found out, they might even despise her and kick her out. It had happened before.

The little maid cautiously glanced around, making sure no one was around. She quickly lowered her head and hurried away.

From the shadows, Xu Yunfan took in the entire situation without saying a word.

In this ancient feudal society, while foot binding wasn't as prevalent in the Zhou Dynasty as in some previous dynasties, where women would commit suicide if their legs were seen, the shame of wetting one's pants was still something no one dared to speak of.

In his previous life at the Jiang Mansion, he had witnessed a maid being threatened by a martial artist with a punch, causing her to wet her pants uncontrollably.

Jiang Yu, naturally disgusted, had the maid sent to the Jiaofangsi.

The backgrounds of those wealthy families were truly filthy.

Xu Yunfan no longer hesitated. He sprinted, sticking to dark corners, and swiftly crept towards the warehouse.

The entire Hu residence was captivated by the woman in black, and he saw few others along the way, only maids and servants.

As he approached the warehouse, he noticed the patrolling guards were indeed dense. Their steady steps and vigilant gazes clearly showed they were armed, but their unsettled gazes indicated that the warehouse was not as peaceful as it appeared.

Xu Yunfan crouched low, his hunting skills making him difficult to detect. He cleverly used the surrounding debris and shadows to avoid the guards' sight.

"You've been so elusive, skillfully concealing your form with cover, making it impossible for your prey to detect your movements. Your hunting proficiency has improved."

He held his breath, glancing at the notification indicating his proficiency had increased, and quietly bided his time.

This hunting skill proved more effective than he had anticipated.

But after about ten minutes, a sudden shout echoed from the Hu residence.

"Strong intruders are invading! Come and protect Master Hu!"

It was the voice of the middle-aged man who had chased out of the Hu residence.

Upon hearing this, the leader ordered most of the warehouse guards to leave, leaving the entire warehouse empty.

It was truly like a pillow falling asleep and then being delivered to you.

Xu Yunfan was delighted. Sometimes, just a little wait might lead to good things.

There were only four or five guards who had just entered the martial arts realm. The young leader, though imposing in stature, lacked some vitality, appearing to be only at the minor stage of success.

Xu Yunfan, no longer concealing himself, emerged from the darkness of the corner in full view of the guards.

His slightly heavy footsteps, no longer concealed, seemed to weigh on the guards' hearts, drawing their attention.

The leading guard's expression was instantly startled. The newcomer, clad in black and masked, appeared menacing; he was certainly not here for tea.

He drew the long sword from his waist and shouted, "Stop!"

Seeing this, the other guards followed suit, their swords drawn and on full alert.

Xu Yunfan, however, acted oblivious and continued his pace. His muscles flexed slightly, his bones cracked softly, and his clothing stretched tight against the bulging muscles.

In the blink of an eye, Xu Yunfan had strode rapidly, approaching a guard.

The guard's eyes widened in fear, his broadsword instinctively slashing at Xu Yunfan.

Xu Yunfan didn't flinch, but raised the back of his hand and thrust forward.

With a clang, sparks flew, and the guard's broadsword flew out of his hand. Xu Yunfan's arm remained unharmed, leaving only a barely perceptible white mark.

Within a few breaths, the mark vanished.

  "Horizontal Training!?"

the leader cried out in surprise. He hadn't expected to encounter someone practicing horizontal training.

Xu Yunfan launched a punch, the tip of his fist tearing through the air with a hissing sound. It was so heavy and fast that the guard had no time to react before it was struck in the chest.

With a scream, the guard flew backward like a kite with its string cut, slamming heavily against the wall, spitting blood and falling unconscious on the spot.

The other guards watched with fear, but they still gathered their courage, brandishing their weapons and charging forward.

Xu Yunfan showed no sign of panic. With his quick legs, he moved like lightning, weaving through the crowd. Each punch was accompanied by a dull thud and a scream.

His fists were like hammers, crashing into the guards, cracking bones and tendons.

The young leader, terrified, brandished his long sword, trying to block Xu Yunfan's attack.

However, Xu Yunfan rushed in front of him, flicked the long knife away with a finger, and then dropped his palm to grab the wrist holding the knife. With a little force, there was a "crack" sound, and the wrist made a bone fracture.

The little leader screamed, and the long knife fell to the ground.

Xu Yunfan kicked him in the lower abdomen, and the little leader flew out and fell to the ground, fainting from the pain.

But in just a few breaths, four or five guards had all fallen to the ground, losing the ability to resist.
