Chapter 20 - War Campaign: Breaking Nero-Lennox

As the Ghost and his forces pushed forward, villages cheered as the Greater Ottawan Union pushed deeper into the Slaveocracy's territory than any nation had ever gone before. To the locals, the Ghost of Ottawa was an armored pillar of perseverance. They cheered as he raised the Greater Ottawan Union flag over their villages as the Union forces approached the outer limits of Nero-Lennox.

As the Ghost gazed out over the cliff that overlooked the oasis city known as Nero-Lennox, he could see that the enslaved people within the city had no smiles, nothing symbolizing hope. As he returned to the Union forces, he took off his helmet and mask. "If we're going to break the chain on these people's souls, I gotta show my face, and put on one heck of a smile." As the Greater Ottawan Union marched onward to Nero-Lennox, alarm bells tolled as they reached the outer gates. Betsy Ross fired her lasers into the city, aiming for the bell systems, while the Ghost fired a nukette into the city gates. With the gates blown wide open, gunfire and magic spells ripped across the open-air market. The Greater Ottawan Union pushed their attack, while the Ghost shielded the enslaved people trapped on the battlefield with a smile on his face. O-61s fired shells into the pre-scouted buildings. However, as the Union forces advanced, two demi-human children had become trapped as the slavers mounted their defense.

Fireballs and explosions rained down around them. The older sibling looked up to see a fireball speeding toward them. As she shielded her younger brother, a shadow fell across the sunlight. She looked up to see the Ghost's smiling face as he took the fireball for them. "Great work, kid! I'm counting on you to keep your brother safe for me." The Ghost told the girl, then turned around and aimed the Radium Dial at the group of slavers. In a flash of light, the slavers were killed. The older sister looked at the Ghost as he ordered medics to take them away from the fighting. As the medic carried them away from the fighting, the older sister never took her eyes off the Ghost. "Hey, mister? Is that guy an angel?" She asked the medic. The medic chuckled and replied, "Kind of, but that, little one, is the Ghost of Ottawa, leader of my country." The medic paused for the kids to watch the Ghost. He was living up to his former moniker, "Hero of Ottawa", as his fists, axe, and sledgehammer dished out much-deserved punishment to slavers as he marched deeper into the city.

As the Greater Ottawan Union pushed for the city's center, the Ghost rejoined the main force as he ordered Betsy Ross to blow a hole into the Palace of the Slaver King. As the automaton threw a warhead into the palace's wall, the King and his many wives saw their kingdom's defeat standing outside. The Ghost of Ottawa nodded and pointed, prompting Betsy Ross to speak. Her robotic, metallic voice rang out, "Slaver King of the Slaveocracy of Monatabi, the Greater Ottawan Union has you surrounded. Surrender now, or die on your knees. Enslaved people watched as the Slaver King used his wives' slave crests to force them to shield him.

"I WILL NEVER SURRENDER!" He yelled out, chuckling to himself. However, what he hadn't realized was that the Ghost of Ottawa had snuck around back and was behind him. "I was hoping you'd choose stupidity over logic." Grinned the Ghost, dropping the blade of his axe through the King's skull. He then kicked the King's corpse out of the blown open section of wall, letting his body slam into the sand below. The Ghost then climbed up to the roof and ripped down the Flag of the Slaveocracy, replacing it with the Flag of the Greater Ottawan Union. This campaign was over, as the capital of the Slaveocracy succumbed to the might of the Greater Ottawan Union's resolve.
