The ground came apart in a rain of rocks and putrid dust, the forest fog thinning slightly over the massive scale of battle that had swallowed the expanse whole.
The Eagles fought with ferociousness, tearing apart the tide of venomous snakes with talons curved like daggers. And their wings, steady and sharp, turned to blades used to cleave the horrid creatures in halves.
But the hissing tide of flesh wasn't to be outdone either.
Out of their mouths reddish venom sprayed like a rain of acid, causing the air to sizzle like it was melting. The bodies of the hunting birds, compact and strong as they were, could barely withstand the venomous onslaught.
But they held on.
After all, the eagles couldn't feel any pain.
All they felt was a maddening desire to destroy all of the horrid creatures that had become her enemy.
Kelly felt like she was going insane. She felt like she was in a hundred places at once, fighting a hundred battles in different bodies.
