Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Great Punishment

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

He shaped man in his own image, radiant with clean spirit, crowned with authority.

To him, he gave the beast of the field, the birds of the skies, the depths of the sea. All were bound beneath humanity's hands.

But man, in his pride, grew arrogant, his heart turned inward. They built temples to serve false gods and drank blood of their brother's without shame.

God called to them through storm and silence, through prophecies still, they would not turn.

In God's rage, he opened the gates of hell.

From the first realm came fourth demons that hunger for flesh, witches that hunt for souls and titans that shattered mountains with their breathe.

And a plague, Black as a shadowfire, swept the earth

It was known only by its curse: The hands of death.

It did not burn the body. It unraveled the soul.

Within three years, half of mankind lay dead.

The skies weft ashes. The oceans pulled back as if in disgust.

Hope withered

But even in wrath, God remembered mercy. From the breath of the word, he created ten divine beings each born of divine light, yet tempered by the world's ruin

He called them the "The great sons of God" and they where sent to help humanity.

They came to restore what was broken, but the world was already bleeding too deeply

Centuries passed and lands twisted, the sky poisoned. The Gods themselves divided one by one and so frail, stubborn, ever hunted was left to suffer.

Kingdoms divided, and conflict spread.

And in a ruin age, in small farm the outskirts ofa village called Berlin... A young slave named David toiled in the fields, his existence a never-ending struggle for survival. His master, Jeric was a cruel man who owned 15 salves and David being the youngest among them.

David's back was a latticework of scares from the countless whipping he had endured at his master's hand

David's memories of his past were shouted in mystery. He did know who his parents were or wwhere he came from.

All his knew was a life of suffering and pain. He was often called a demon by the villages because he had red and white eyes.

One day, the master ordered all the salves to venture outside the village walls to harvest the remaining crops to stock the food storage, since the kingdom haven't sent supplies to them.

The salves along side David obeyed and trudging through the dusty fields.

The work was backbreaking and the sun seemed to grow hotter within every passing minute.

He was starting to feel the effect of dehydration.

As the sun set and dark rise the salves were preparing to to go back inside the gates. David was finishing picking the crops and heard a strange noise. At first, he thought it was the wind rusting through the crops, but then he heard it again. A low, mournful cry that sent shiver down his spine. Curiosity got the better of him and he venture to the direction of the cry.

What he saw made his blood run cold.

A witch, her eyes glowing with an otherworldly energy was consuming the flesh and the soul of another salve.

David shocked by by what he saw couldn't run. The witche's eyes snapped towards him and she smiled, revealing her teeth filled with blood that crave for more.

David's snapped and turned to run. But the witch was too fast. She stretched her hands that grow longer and grasped his shoulder and legs, spinning him back around, her nail grow longer with sharp claws that ripped into his stomach, leaving him badly injured.

He stumbled forward, try to escape but the witch grip was like a vice.

The other salves, already inside of the gates notice two others missing, told their master about it and he ordered three other salves to look for them and they did so.

David was alone in the field, he shouted for help with all his strength but no one came. He struggled to escape, but the witch was relentless.

"No one is coming to save you", she said.

David stood up running with his broken body, the witch laughed, with her eyes blowing red.

She cracked his leg and he's word went dark as he fell and hit his head on a rock.

Darkness was all he see, he's conscience mind conjured up vision of two gods battling.

He saw himself standing and witnessing a mighty battle between the two beings.

When David gain his consciousness, he found himself standing in front of the witches lifeless body. It seemed that in his moment of unconsciousness, something had intervened but the most shocking thing was David's wounds were healed.

He legs that were broken are healed.

He stood in shock on how it was possible. It was getting dark and he knew he had to get back to the village.

As he limped back to the village he couldn't help but think about the strange vision he had seen while unconscious.
