The sunlight was already high, piercing through the small gap of her window, shining on Hana's still-sleeping face. The warmth seeped through her eyelids—and made her blink slowly.
The moment she realized…
"Aaaaah! The sun's already high?!"
Her scream echoed through the small room. In one swift motion, she shot up from her bed, nearly tripping on her own blanket, then dashed to the washstand. Her mind was still half-asleep, but her hands were already scooping water and splashing it mercilessly on her face.
The cold water woke her instantly.
"Ugh, ugh, ugh… today I have to prepare His Majesty's morning tea! Why didn't a rooster crow, or anything at all?!"
Hana scrambled to change clothes. The pink servant's blouse was thrown on in a rush, her skirt even went on backwards before she realized. Her hair was pinned up in a messy bun with a clip that was barely holding together, strands falling around her flushed cheeks.
