Preface - The Five

In a world ruled by steel and spirit, those with otherworldly power are known not simply by their skill, but for the ancient legends they embody. These are Mythics—humans gifted with magical pantheons, the four elemental pathways created by the Four Mythic Gods: Sun, Moon, Sky and Earth. Mythics are chosen by pure elementals, mythical creatures or even the Gods themselves, bearing the mark and might of their bonded. Some become living legends in the flesh: from divine healers, famous mercenaries to legendary heroes of war.

The Sun Pantheon gave one the power to wield fire and bend light to their whim.

The pathway of the Sun Godfather, the divine embodiment of the Sun's fury and grace. Not merely a God of the Sun, but the origin of all light, warmth, and celestial fire, fueling life and war alike. The flame elementals—spirits of volcanic wrath, hearthlight, and wildfire—bend knee to him as their eternal liege, for he is the the primordial spark from which all flame was born, a primordial solar deity.

The Moon Pantheon gave one the power to control water. As water overwhelmingly flows throughout all living beings, those with strong ties to this pathway can influence blood, emotion and memory; even walk into the realm of dreams, intuition and prophecy.

The pathway of the Lunar Godmother, the eternal sovereign of the moon, ocean, and all that flows between worlds. If the Sun Godfather is flame and force, she is depth and mystery—the soft pull of the tides, the silence beneath the waves, and the reflection of light in stillness. Her dominion includes both tranquility and terror; Water elementals revere her as the first ripple from which their forms were born, and her command reaches from deep ocean trenches to sacred mountain springs. Revered as a goddess of duality—calm and storm, life and death, serenity and overwhelming force. She is said to weave the veil between life and the afterlife. It is said she danced with the Sun Godfather to create balance—light and dark, fire and water, sun and moon—each orbiting the other.

The Sky Pantheon gave one the power to command air and manifest thunder from the skies.

The pathway of the Sky Godfather, the celestial architect of the upper world, ruling the skies from the highest aetherial plane. He is storm incarnate—the balance between calm breeze and raging tempest. The first breath of wind and the last cry of hurricanes—his presence fills the sky with life, movement, and wrath. He governs all that moves through the air and the creator of wind elementals. His moods shape the weather, his will commands the very breath of the world.

The Earth Pantheon gave one the power to manipulate the Earth itself. Those with strong ties to this pathway are capable of manipulating stone, metal, soil and minerals that naturally inhabit the world; even controlling the nature around them.

The pathway of the Earth Godmother, the primordial soul of the world, the pulse of the land, and the nurturing spirit of all that grows, decays, and is reborn. She is both womb and tomb—giver of life, shelterer of beasts, and eventual receiver of all mortal remains. Earth elementals call her "Grandmother Soil", the first to rise from the crust of creation, and all forests, mountains, caves, and fertile fields exist at her pleasure. She is stability, patience, and power—the immovable heart of the world. Revered as a maternal force, guardian of harvests, protector of wilderness, and keeper of the dead. Said to dream beneath the roots of the World Tree, and when she stirs, continents quake. It is said she molded the first mortal forms from clay, gave them bones of stone and blood of sap. Seen as the eldest of the gods, she provides the foundation upon which all others walk.

The essence of the stars, a mysterious entity behind all that is created and destroyed, birthed the Four Mythic Gods to create the World as humans knew it. However, there is a Fifth, the most powerful mortal to walk and destined to become as powerful, was constructed by the very four:

The Chaos-Father.

Called upon to maintain balance in the mortal realm the Four resided over—the King of the Inhuman. Over the course of time itself, the Chaos-Father grew weary and jaded. Despite appearing to have the very malice of the world coursing through his veins, he had been burdened, for he was still a mortal, growing weary and jaded. The Four had used him as a source of evil, with humanity looking to the Chaos-Father for malediction, angst and disaster.

But when his Chosen, the Priest of Chaos, wished for the Chaos-Father to step out into the very world that appeared to have cursed his people's existence...

He chose rebellion above submission, resisting his own creators. Beginning the Cycle of Renewal.
