Chapter 23 - SS2 EP4

And so, the day has finally come.

Time passed quickly for all the students of U.A.Each of them had trained to their limits, determined to impress Pro Heroes enough to secure internships during the Sports Festival.

Over the past two weeks, Momo, Mina, and I had been training together at GYM GAMMA.

Eventually, more and more of his group joined in. It ended up feeling like a class-wide boot camp—with him acting as the instructor. Not sure why, but they all wanted him to take that role.

So, he did.

Ryojin: "Do you know... the military?"

Yeah. He went full drill sergeant on them. Just like when he trained and went into actual combat. That said, every time he barked at someone, Mina and Momo would smack him.

Ryojin: "Nooo—don't bully me, babe. It hurts~!"

Despite the chaos, everyone improved. He even had them practice basic combat techniques and pushed them to develop their Quirks in their own unique ways.

Meanwhile, the other side had also laid out their battle plans.

Strangely enough, he didn't even need to give them any complicated orders.

Why? Because over there, they had villains—no, "staff" would be more accurate—who were smart enough to strategize without needing direction.

Honestly, it was impressive. He planned to visit HQ later to make sure everything was running smoothly… but for now, that could wait.

Because it wasn't just his clone army anymore.

They'd called in reinforcements—villain allies like the Carlenter Crew, the Kurokagi Family, and others.Over a hundred extra bodies, plus more than ten hired Vigilantes just in case something slipped through.

If they hadn't set up that precaution, there'd probably be a bloodbath if things got out of hand.

But let's not worry about that right now.

Right now…

He was walking through the school festival, and it was massive.

He strolled around, snacking on random food from all the stalls. Who knew how long he'd been walking?

At least he still had over ten minutes left—plenty of time.

Eventually, he arrived at the prep room.

He opened the door and was immediately greeted by the king of punctuality himself.

Iida: "Kazuma-kun! You're late! As class representative, this is completely irresponsible!"

Ryojin: "Relax, relax. It's just a tiny delay. Nothing happened anyway.Besides, I brought candy. Want one?"

He handed out sweets to everyone. Being a nice guy had its perks.

He took a seat in one of the empty chairs, only to be flanked shortly after by Mina and Momo.

It felt good. Some of the girls probably wanted to sit with him too, but… yeah, no thanks. This was more than enough work already.

Mina: "Hey! Aren't you nervous?"

Kazuma: "Nervous? Nah. I'm chill."

Momo: "Really? I thought you'd be at least a little anxious. This is a national-level event, you know."

He looked around the room and saw his classmates. They looked tense—excited, yes—but also anxious and uncertain.

He had to keep the class in the right headspace before they walked out.

Ryojin: "Man… I really don't get why people get nervous.Maybe it's because they think they have to do more than they're capable of.I mean, people eat, sleep, go to the bathroom every day and no one gets nervous doing that. This is the same thing—you're just doing what you've already been practicing every single day.So what's there to be nervous about?"

Momo: "That's true. Everyone here's been training hard. The only thing left now is to show the world what we can really do!"

One by one, their classmates lit up with renewed determination after that little pep talk.

Kirishima: "Yeah! Manly speech, bro!"

Tokoyami: "There is some truth in that."

Kaminari: "I'm getting hyped now, boss!"

Kazuma: "Assuming your brain doesn't short out, you'll do great… I think."

Kaminari: "Hey!!"

Laughter echoed through the room as Kazuma teased Kaminari. The conversation carried on a little longer… until Todoroki stepped in.

Todoroki: "Midoriya."

Midoriya: "Hm? What's up, Todoroki-kun?"

Todoroki: "I should've said this a while ago…Objectively speaking, I'm stronger than you."

That turned heads. Some students even stepped back slightly at the cold, cutting tone of Todoroki's voice—as if everyone else in the room were just background noise to him.

Kazuma watched silently, curious about what would happen next.

Todoroki: "And… All Might's keeping an eye on you, right?"

Midoriya broke into a sweat.Ryojin smirked—not in a mean way, just because things were finally getting interesting.

Todoroki: "I never cared about that stuff. But let me make it clear—I'm going to defeat you."

Kirishima: "Whoa, whoa, we're all in the same class, man. No need to start fights at home!"

Todoroki: "I'm not here to make friends."

He replied coolly and brushed past Kirishima without looking back.

Kirishima looked like he wanted to go after him, but Ryojin gently grabbed his arm, signaling for him to stop.Kirishima glanced at Ryojin, confused, but Ryojin simply smiled and nodded toward Midoriya.

Midoriya: "Wait, Todoroki…"

His voice was soft but firm. The room fell silent.

Midoriya: "I don't know what you're thinking or why you're saying this…But yeah, you're stronger than me right now. That's true."

Kirishima: "Wait, Midoriya, you don't have to—"

Midoriya: "But still—!"

He cut in with sudden force. His body trembled—not out of fear, but anticipation. His eyes burned with a fiery resolve that Ryojin had never seen before.

Midoriya: "I will reach the top. No matter where I'm standing right now.So you better watch your back, Todoroki—because if you focus too much on me, someone else might strike from behind. And if that happens… you'll have no one to blame but yourself."

They locked eyes for a long moment before Todoroki looked away and exited the room without another word.

Ryojin smiled at Midoriya. He was starting to get it now.Confrontation was part of the path—a hero's path.

Ryojin: "Daaaamn. I think Uraraka's totally falling for you now."

He teased, earning light chuckles from the class.Midoriya's face went beet red, and Uraraka quickly averted her gaze.

Kazuma: "Go on, Uraraka. Give him that cute little—"

THWACK!

Momo's light punch landed squarely on his head.

Mina burst out laughing

Suddenly, the school's PA system crackled to life.

Announcement: "Attention all students. Please proceed to the sports field. The U.A. Sports Festival will begin in five minutes."

Everyone jumped to their feet, excitement buzzing in the air. Before he could even react, two girls—Momo and Mina—grabbed him by the arms and practically dragged him out of the room, while he rubbed his head with a faint grimace.

Ryojin (muttering): "Oww… can someone check if my brain still works?"

Our class marched proudly toward the stadium.Tooru and Mina held up our class flag with confidence.A black background with bold white letters—simple, sharp, and powerful.Just like our resolve today.

Ryojin: "Hey… remember how we chose this design?"

He raised the flag high above his head as he asked.Everyone turned to look up at it, and smiles slowly bloomed one by one.As if this moment—this battle—was what we had been waiting for all along.

To fly…

It doesn't just mean to soar through the air.It means to refuse to stay still. To rise, to push forward—to chase the dream waiting beyond the clouds. No matter how high the sky.No matter how fierce the storm or blinding the sunlight. We will fly… until that dream is ours.

He took the flag from the girls, raising it high above the crowd of his classmates. They stood with eyes burning, spirits crackling with anticipation.

Kazuma: "It's time… to show the world who we are!"

His voice rang out like thunder, echoed by a roar that shook the ground beneath them.

Everyone: "PLUS ULTRA!!!"

The energy surged outward like a wave.He grinned with fire in his eyes.He knew—this wasn't just

This was our declaration. To the world. To the future.

Momo looked up at him, eyes filled with both determination and tenderness. She leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to his cheek.

Momo (gently): "We'll go together, alright?"

He tightened his grip on her hand. Not too much. But just enough.A silent vow.

He would not back down.

The tunnel ahead began to glow. Not just with light… but with the spotlight of the entire world.

He stepped forward, side by side with his friends—the flag fluttering proudly above Mina and Tooru.

A simple flag.Black and white.Bold and bright.

And in their hearts, a single shared thought:

"Keep your silver medals—Because we're coming for the gold."

Ryojin stared at the mission window that popped up in front of him and thought to himself:

Ryojin:"...What the fck."*

🎤 Present Mic: "CAN I GET A HEEEEYYYYYY?!"

The voice from the announcer's booth boomed across the stadium. The crowd roared back, the cheers so loud it shook the ground.

🎤 Present Mic: "Looks like everyone's paying attention, huh?! The media's here too! You all know what time it is—it's time for the UA Sports Festival!! ARE YOU ALL READY?!"

😴 Aizawa: "…Why the hell am I even doing this?"

He muttered under his scarf, drained already, watching the first-year students walk into the stadium one by one. Kazuma's tall figure looked up at the massive crowd in the stands and gave a slight wave—

The crowd exploded with screams like a bomb had gone off.

Walking beside him, Momo nudged his arm and chuckled.

Momo: "You really know how to make a crowd go wild, huh?"

Kazuma: "Been dying to try it out, Mo-chan."

She rolled her eyes in exasperation, but the smile on her lips never faded. Together with the rest of their class, they kept walking until they reached the center of the stadium.

🎤 Present Mic: "Now, let's introduce the classes! Starting with the group that survived the villain attack at the USJ! The class that faced down enemies even pros would hesitate to fight! With hearts full of courage—and in some cases, actual power—welcome... FIRST-YEAR HERO COURSE, CLASS 1-A!!!"

The stadium erupted with applause. The roar of the crowd drowned out even the wind.

Other classes were introduced too, but the cheers faded with each announcement. A few students started glancing at Class 1-A with a mix of awe and... jealou

Present Mic: "And now, introMidnight!!!"

Another wave of cheers washed over the stadium as Midnight strutted onto the stage with exaggerated flair. Her hips swayed with every step, catching the eye of every single person present—including Ryojin.

He tried to look away, but his imagination betrayed him.He pictured Momo and Mina... wearing the same outfit.

Ryojin:"…Oh god."

WHAM!A fist drove right into his ribs—Momo's.

He winced, holding his side in pain.

Ryojin:"Worth it."

He glanced over at Mineta, who was clearly trying not to stare too hard. The guy was trying to change—ever since Ryojin called him out about Kaneko, and after hearing what Mawata had said.

He'd started small: by being less of a perv.Which, honestly, was hilarious in itself.

CRACK!The sound of Midnight's whip snapped through the air.The stadium fell into total silence.

Midnight: "Alright, let's begin with the Athlete's Oath!"

She held up the mic and called out clearly:

Midnight: "Ryojin Kazuma! Step forward and lead the oath!"

The cheers returned—louder than before.

Bakugo: "Tch…"(He clicked his tongue, visibly annoyed.)

Ryojin smirked, then casually pulled a fedora out of nowhere and placed it on his head. With all eyes on him, he moonwalked to the center of the stage like he owned it—Like freakin' Michael Jackson.

The crowd lost their minds.

"WOOOO!!" echoed across the arena.

When he reached center stage, he stopped.Lowered the brim of his hat.A single spotlight hit him just right.

Silence.

Ryojin took a deep breath…And began to speak the oath, his voice loud and clear.

As he finished, he struck a final pose.BOOM!Fireworks shot into the air out of nowhere.

Everyone gasped. No one had any clue where he'd hidden the fireworks.

While the crowd was still stunned, Midnight stepped forward, holding out the mic with a sly smile.

Ryojin grabbed it—and shouted at the top of his lungs:

Ryojin: "LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!!!!!!!"

The crowd exploded. The ground shook with the force of their cheers.

Even the Pro Heroes couldn't hold back:

"Boss is insane!"

"Did he just—pull that off for real?!"

"So damn cool!"

"Dude's a legend!"

"You're shining brighter than ever!"

Ryojin let out a small laugh and handed the mic back to Midnight, who was still grinning.

Midnight: "Then let the games… BEGIN!"

With a snap of her whip—CRACK!The festival officially kicked off.

The stadium's giant screen spun rapidly before stopping to reveal one word:

[Obstacle Course Race!!]

Midnight: "Let's kick off the first event—The Qualifier! This game breaks spirits every single year…"

Midnight: "All 11 classes will run this course at the same time! It's a 4-kilometer track wrapped around this entire stadium! And remember—UA is all about freedom! As long as you stay on the path… anything goes!"

She licked her lips with sparkling eyes and pointed toward the starting line. The air buzzed with tension—but Ryojin? He was chilling.

Stretching casually on the sidelines with Momo and Mina, the three of them laughed softly, their quiet joy blending into the crowd's rising noise.

Kazuma: "Hey, my two lovely girls... How about a little bet?Whoever finishes first gets to be the master for a day.The losers? One-day servants~"

He grinned wickedly, and the girls just shook their heads with amused smiles. Then, as if syncing it perfectly, the

Momo: "Sure thing, Ryo~ Anything you say~

Mina: "You're on, Ryo~"

After a few more stretches, Midnight's voice r

Ryojin crouched into position while his classmates tensed up, focus sharp. Not a single word passed between them, but their eyes said everything. They were serious. Dead serious.

Ryojin only chuckled to himself.

Beside him, Momo stood with quiet confidence.Everything was ready.

And just as the countdown ended, a deafening cry erupted from everyone:

Everyone: "WE'RE GONNA WIN THIS!!!"

The moment the green light hit, bodies surged forward like a tidal wave crashing through the starting gate.

But Ryojin?

He stood still.

Crowds shoved and bumped in a frenzy, voices echoing through the tunnel.

"Damn it! It's so packed!"

"Don't push, you jerk!"

"MOVE!!!"

Ryojin just observed quietly, sighing through his nose.No matter what, they'd all scramble. That's what animals do—when they chase after success.

Then came the sound—

Ssshhhhhhrrrrrk!

Ice began crawling across the ground.

His eyes darted to the source instantly.

Todoroki.

Calm and cold, he froze the entire path behind him, separating himself from the crowd. He controlled the chaos effortlessly—like a

Kazuma (muttering): "Guess it's time…"

The tunnel buzzed with frustration, but no one cared. All eyes locked on the road ahead.

And then, just seconds later, chaos exploded at the tunnel's mouth.

A handful of students burst through the crowd first—Ojiro, Mineta (shockingly not trampled into the pavement), Kirishima, and of course…

Bakugo.Blowing up everything and everyone like a rabid dog let loose.

But the biggest shock?

Midoriya.

Using his Quirk at full force, his body launched forward like a rocket.

Gasps followed instantly:

Uraraka: "Deku-kun!? Since when can you use your power like that!?"

Iida: "Midoriya-kun!? You're finally controlling it properly!?"

Bakugo: "WHAT THE HELL!? DEKUUU, YOU DAMN BASTARD!!!"

Ryojin let out a low laugh and finally began to move—Wading through the crowd like a wolf that couldn't be bothered by the boars around him.

For him?

The game hadn't even started yet.

Class 1-A had all dashed ahead.Every one of them determined to win.

But they

Kirishima: "Wait… Is that—!?"

Mineta: "BIG BRO!!!!"

It's time for the hero to take the stage.

With a burst of speed from his skill —Hissatsu: Gyoten,Ryujin lunged toward the others, chaining the momentum fluidly into his next activation:

Skill: PelotonIncreases self movement speed by 30%Duration: 10 secondsST Cost: 200 per useCoin Cost: 30,000

He dashed like a bullet—So fast, no one could keep up.Even those who had absolute confidence in their own speed...Were shaken.

Ryujin zipped across the battlefield, almost a blur.Suddenly, a massive block of ice launched toward him from behind—He twisted midair, flipped around—and activated his Quirk: Solemn Lament.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bangbangbang!!Gunfire ripped through the cold.

Bullets clashed with frozen shards—He twisted in midair, dodging with inhuman finesse.

Present Mic (shouting):"Whoa-ho-ho!! Looks like things are starting to heat up!! Don't go anywhere, folks—'Cause the real action is just getting started!!"

No sooner had he spoken...The earth trembled.

And then... they emerged.

Giant mechs.Steel beasts straight out of a nightmare.I'll never forget them.

Present Mic:"Looks like our competitors are up against their first big challenge!!Introducing the first trial of the Sports Festival—ROBO INFERNO!Say hello to Predator and Executor!!"

Mechanical roars erupted from underground. The stadium quaked as titanic machines climbed their way out like monsters from the pit.

Dust. Smoke. Thunderous stomps.More than ten towering bots revealed themselves...

And behind them—smaller ones, reaper-like in design, clad in blackened iron.Buzzing saws mounted to their arms.Their right and left hands eerily humanoid. And their shriek—Like death had come screaming.

Todoroki:"These are... the same bots from the entrance exam...?"

Bakugo:"Bullshit—how the hell are these things back!?"

Mineta:"I—I had nightmares for days because of those things…!"

Momo:"I didn't even know UA had the budget to build horrors like that..."

Ryujin smirked.

The kind of smile only someone who's shattered these things before could wear. And now... he wanted to do it again.

Ryujin:"Let's wreck you bastards one more time."

He launched himself into the fray—spinning midair—both guns whirring, synchronized with the rhythm of his assault.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG!!Enhanced bullets slammed into steel like thunder on iron.

Meanwhile…

The massive machines spread out, smashing everything in their path.

But in a split second—A mountain of ice erupted from the ground. The impact sounded like the world itself cracking apart.

Todoroki stood motionless atop a frozen platform, eyes colder than the ice beneath his feet.

Eyes raised not with love...but with command.

Shoto:"Tch... Just scrap metal."

Ice shot forward like a spear—and pierced an Executor straight through.

It exploded—Metal shards flew like confetti at a funeral.

Elsewhere—Midoriya burst into the sky with 10% power.

His fist crashed down—"SMASH!!"A Predator bot went flying, crashing into the ground with a sonic boom...

Only to slowly rise again. Its joints hissed with resistance. It wasn't down yet.

Bakugo (snarling):"Son of a bitch is tough as hell!!"

He leapt—his body igniting midair—spinning like a comet of fire—and slammed into the back of another bot, detonating on impact with ruthless force.

Everyone was pushing forward. No one looked back.No one said, "Let's go together."

Because being first—meant leaving everyone behind.

Suddenly—a mechanical click echoed through the air.Like an old, rusty cannon being loaded.

She turned to me.

Momo:"Ryuu!! Locked and loaded!!"

He nodded.Jumped back. And the recoil of her cannon cracked the floor beneath her.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Each shell found its mark.

First Executor: Crushed.Second: Down.Third: Obliterated.

The sound of rupturing gears—torn plating—dying steel—

Every shot from her wasn't just destruction. It was the death of every image of a "helpless girl"anyone had ever held.

Ryujin turned to look at her.

She stood atop her cannon—Sweat glistening down her neck, hips tilted just slightly to balance the weapon's recoil—Eyes blazing like a woman ready to face any hell.

And my heart—

It thundered so hard I thought it would burst from my chest.

Ryujin (thought):"Goddamn…"

Ryujin (muttering):"She's so fucking sexy right now…"

A piercing scream cut through the air, stabbing at the heart like a dagger, the grinding mechanical teeth of the Predator echoed—like steel gnashing against fragile human bones.

"Don't break my legs! Please—don't break my legs!!""No… no more, please…"

Desperate cries for mercy fell on deaf ears. Most of the students had already passed that point—including him.But his heart refused to move forward;his legs felt glued to the ground.

And then he saw her—a girl in her UA uniform, collapsing, her legs stained with blood. The Predator raised its arm—the razor-sharp mechanical blade ready to strike down.If it hit, there was no way she would survive.

He didn't understand why the machines wouldn't stop. All he knew was that death was coming for her.

His mind went silent—no shouts, no sounds, not even the wind.

Then…

Ryujin (thought): "Damn it…"

He turned his back and stepped forward. Not because of courage—but because in this crazy world, if he kept walking on while leaving others to die behind him...he wouldn't be himself.

His knee slammed hard into the Predator's head with a thunderous crack. He charged forward at a speed he didn't think his body could handle. His arm swung with full force, smashing his gun into the Predator's face, sending it staggering back—then firing bullet after bullet into its head.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bangbangbang!

Metal cracked and splintered.

He turned back—the girl was still alive. She looked at him—eyes wide, swimming with tears and fear.

"Th-thank you…"

Inside her heart:Why did he come back? No—he's saving us.

The other regular-class students were soon rescued too.

Ryujin didn't stop.He kept running headlong into the swarm of robots.

Present Mic (excited):"Whoa, whoa, whoa! What's going on here!? Kazuma is going berserk, charging headfirst into those bots! Is Isawa feeding him something? Why is he so fired up?!"

Isawa:"Do you think I'd tell you that?"

Present Mic:"Wowww! Was the first obstacle easy? Because this one's no joke! Welcome to the terrifying Abyss! It's truly scary—if you fall in, well... who knows what happens!!"

The crowd shivered, fear creeping into their voices. But Ryujin's eyes burned with a wild, relentless fire.No fear, no hesitation.Only the fierce will to survive and protect those who can't fight back.

Meanwhile, on the clones' side — they were already prepared for what was about to happen. The countdown on the clock hit zero.

Suddenly, unnatural, grotesque heads began emerging from beneath the ground. Not just one, but hundreds of them — each with eerie, hardened eyes filled with madness, staring directly at the clones' front line.

The earth trembled slightly, as if something was crawling beneath the surface. The crackling sound of splitting dirt shattered the silence, and in the next split second...

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Gunfire erupted from The Thumb's ranks, opening a relentless barrage without any warning.Bullets rained down like a storm, piercing those monstrous heads with deadly precision.

Ryujin's clones stood motionless, statues frozen in time.No expression, no hesitation — just performing their duty. And once the first shots rang out...

It marked only the beginning of a war.

The Thumb had cleared the area completely. No civilians remained in either strategic point. They used a seamless excuse — "Detected radioactive substances in the area. Immediate evacuation is required."Everything looked legitimate, as they disguised themselves as police officers. The authority in their uniforms, coupled with serious tones, made the people evacuate without suspicion.

Not long after...

A subtle trembling rose beneath their feet. The ground cracked open.Something began to swarm up from the earth.

Their forms were twisted and unnatural. Some stretched like torn sinews, others had rotting flesh-like skin. Some had no eyes, only hollow black pits that stared back like voids sucking in all light.

The air grew cold, filled with the scent of blood mixed with damp earth.

They were not just terrifying...They were nightmares, awakened.

The Flesh Swarm from Beneath the Earth

The ground cracked just half an hour before noon—At first, small fissures appeared,Followed by roars that seemed to come from the very chest of the earth,As if the land itself was sick,Trying to vomit out its pain.

Heads of unspeakable shapes emerged from the soil in silence. Not just one head. Not ten heads. But hundreds—Twisted, mouths agape as if screaming, yet no sound came forth. Some were human heads, some animal, some nameless,Decayed flesh rising without bodies,Or bodies appearing without flesh.

One of those heads opened its eyes—No pupils, no irises—Only a void too deep to measure,Like a hole in the universe where nothing could escape.

"Exterminate them all!!"A command blared through the radio—And hell began.

The first gunshot pierced one of the heads,Not severing it,Only chipping it—Yet it kept smiling,As if mocking the bullets.Machine gun fire roared forth,Shouts nobody heard,The desperate cries of mercenaries who just realizedNo amount of ammunition could kill a nightmare.

The center of the fissure split open,Becoming the mouth of something—From within,They climbed out.Not walking,But writhing as if enjoying waking up,Naked bodies without morals,Bodies without gender, face, or name.

Their hands bore more than five fingers—Some had teeth at their fingertips,Some had no legs but dragged themselves forward,One had an eye on its palm—and that hand was crying.

Explosions echoed—But there was no "war,"Only "purge."Those brave enough to stand thereHad traded their humanityFor a victory no one could be sure even existed.

One voice shouted amid the gunfire,"They're too many! Too many of them!!!"But no one answered—Because everyone already knew the truth:That today,Numbers no longer mattered.

Beneath a godless sky,In lifeless soil,Blood began to fall like rain—Flowing upward to the heavens,As if even the heavens themselves despised this sacrifice.

And the hunt—began without announcement,No flags,No ideology,Only flesh eating flesh,Shadows killing light,And screamsEven demons could not understand.

.

.

.

.

Cut to another school — the next target of these demons. The school sits on the edge of the city,Surrounded by tall iron fences that once kept children away from the outside world. But now, nothing stands between the world and this hellish abyss.

The sky hangs heavy and gray, like toxic smoke,The ground trembles beneath their feet,Bullets slice through the air,Gunfire echoes like a god writing something with the ink of death.

Their corpses — the things emerging from the pits — pile up like mountains.Torn flesh,Blood flooding the ground,A stench of rot mixed with steel,Every breath feels like inhaling death itself.

Time passes.Bullets run dry before the creatures do.Screams rise from the rear lines —Not demonic shrieks,But human voices.Voices of mercenaries,Allies who once bragged about their skills,But had never faced this abyss.

Some run amidst the gunfire,Some shout prayers,Some shoot themselves to escape the nightmare before them.

"They won't stop... They just won't stop..."A trembling voice from a man who once laughed at the phrase "easy job."

Pro heroes — those who fought for justice —Now stuck in the rear lines. They are not cowards,But their hearts were never made to face the beyond. They never killed to survive,Never fired at the voiceless,Never fought flesh that walked without a soul. The righteousness they believed in —Vanished the moment their eyes met the demon horde.

"Don't get in the way."A voice from a man clad in The Thumb's heavy armor said.No emotion, no tone —Only cold fact.He raised his machine gun,And sprayed fire into the crawling mass of flesh like a river of decay.

One hero raised his hand to stop him —But instinct froze him.His heart screamed louder than reason:"If we block them — we all die."

The school buildings caught fire,The smell of smoke mixed with blood,Orange flames burst from shattered windows. Some children were trapped beneath the rubble.Their cries rang out,But no one dared to enter. Not out of fear of death,But because no one knew if inside was still a school — or part of some monstrous body now.

In this hell,There is no "safe zone."No line between good and evil.Only the footsteps of something heartless,The breathing of undying flesh,Gunshots fired again and again into the same corpses to be sure,And soft laughter —From something lurking in the shadows,Still waiting for its time.
