Marlick answered before Azrayel could speak.
"The security of any royal journey cannot be guaranteed while the investigation into the palace attack remains unresolved."

Galfern's gaze moved briefly toward Azrayel.
"It exposed knowledge of the royal family's movements, the condition of the Regent's core, and weaknesses within the palace," Marlick said. "Until the source of that information is identified, Katarthan will not announce a royal procession across an unsecured route."
Galfern rested one hand on the summons.
