Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: First Meeting—I’m Daelan, Sulien Daelan

Fresh from binding the system and obliterating a cursed spirit, Sulien Daelan sensed a massive black sphere materialize nearby. Having read Jujutsu Kaisen, he knew exactly what it was—a Curtain, the barrier sorcerers raised before exorcising curses. Opportunity knocked. If he played his cards right, he could meet real sorcerers and maybe even worm his way into Jujutsu High.

So, he planted himself outside the abandoned factory, waiting patiently. His gamble paid off. Two figures emerged as the Curtain dissolved.

The man on the left, sporting dark sunglasses and a distinctive vibe, was unmistakable—Masamichi Yaga, Jujutsu High's director. But the guy on the right? Handsome, clad in traditional black robes, exuding a sharp, heroic aura? Sulien had no clue who he was. No trace of him in the manga.

Shino Gojo and Yaga eyed Sulien warily. Yaga spoke first, probing. "Excuse me, who are you?"

Sulien didn't answer directly. Channeling Aizen's calculated charm, he feigned ignorance. "That giant black sphere just now—what was it?"

Yaga blinked, startled. "You could see the Curtain?"

"Curtain? So that's what it's called." Sulien nodded thoughtfully, as if piecing it together.

Yaga studied him, muttering to himself, while Shino's gaze sharpened. He sensed faint cursed energy flickering around Sulien, mixed with the lingering stench of a vanquished cursed spirit. "You just exorcised a cursed spirit?" Shino asked, voice tinged with suspicion. "Are you a sorcerer too?"

"Sorcerer? What's that?" Sulien tilted his head, playing dumb. "Wait, you're sorcerers? So that black sphere—Curtain—is something sorcerers make?" He paused, then gasped in mock realization. "Those ugly, man-eating monsters are called cursed spirits? I did kill one, but hell if I know how. Nearly got eaten myself!"

Shino and Yaga exchanged a glance. Sulien's reactions screamed clueless civilian, yet he'd seen a cursed spirit and exorcised it. That pointed to one thing: a newly awakened sorcerer. Still, Shino's instincts prickled. Was this guy genuinely ignorant, or was he hiding an agenda?

Shino scrutinized Sulien, noting the chaotic cursed energy typical of a fresh awakening—impossible to fake for a seasoned sorcerer. "Looks like you're a newly awakened sorcerer," Shino said, his tone softening. "For a regular person to face a cursed spirit on their first awakening and not only survive but exorcise it? You're damn lucky."

Most sorcerers awakened around five or six, but awakening required a mature body, accumulated cursed energy, and a trigger. Sulien's brush with death had clearly been his spark.

"Let me break it down," Shino continued. "Cursed spirits are supernatural entities born from humanity's negative emotions—fear, hatred, anger. Normal people can't see them, but they harm humans. Sorcerers exist to exorcise them. By taking out that cursed spirit, you're already a sorcerer in a sense." He gestured to himself. "I'm Shino Gojo, a sorcerer." Then to his companion. "This is Masamichi Yaga, also a sorcerer and the current director of Tokyo Jujutsu High, a school that trains sorcerers. Unlike regular schools, it teaches only jujutsu and curse exorcism."

Sulien let the words sink in, his mind racing. Shino Gojo? From the Gojo clan? Never heard of him in the manga. Has Satoru Gojo been born yet? He couldn't just ask outright. Instead, he gasped, "Tokyo has a school like that?"

Then, catching himself, he added, "Oh, my bad, I haven't introduced myself." He paused, remembering his system's core mission: embody Sōsuke Aizen. Channeling Aizen's magnetic charisma, he spoke in a smooth, resonant baritone. "Greetings, gentlemen. First meeting—I'm Daelan, Sulien Daelan."

A system prompt flashed before his eyes.

Sulien's heart leapt. Nailed it! His Aizen act was spot-on.

Shino smiled warmly. "You're a sorcerer now, Sulien. If you want, you can enroll at Jujutsu High to train."

Sulien's eyes widened in mock surprise. "Really? Me?"

"Absolutely," Shino said, nudging Yaga. "Right, Yaga?"

Yaga, caught off guard, frowned. Shino was usually bold but not reckless. Sulien's sudden appearance raised red flags—why was Shino so quick to trust? Still, he played along. "Correct. Anyone with talent can enroll after passing a review."

Sulien didn't jump at the offer. Instead, he threw a curveball that left both men stunned. "So, after graduating from Jujutsu High and becoming a sorcerer… how's the pay?"

"…What?" Shino and Yaga blinked, dumbfounded.

Yaga's mouth twitched. "Exorcising cursed spirits earns bounties. Higher-grade spirits mean bigger payouts, but the danger scales up too."

Sulien's mind churned. Danger? That's an understatement. By the manga's end, everyone's either dead or maimed—missing arms, burned to a crisp. Who's left standing in one piece? He stayed silent, letting Yaga interpret it as hesitation about the job's risks. "No need to decide now," Yaga said. "Let's exchange contact info. If you pass the review, I'll reach out, and you can make your call then."

"Oh, and for reference," Yaga added, testing Sulien's intentions, "this guy, Shino Gojo, is the current head of the Gojo clan, one of jujutsu's three great families. His newborn son, Satoru Gojo, bearer of the Six Eyes, already has a one-billion-yen bounty on his head."

Satoru Gojo's born! Sulien's heart skipped, but he kept his cool. He'd prepared for this, refusing to fall into Yaga's trap. Drawing on his inner Aizen—and a dash of "Aizen's Acting Law": Never let the other side control the rhythm; steal the scene—he gasped theatrically. "One billion? That's insane!"

"Six Eyes, huh?" He stroked his chin, feigning contemplation. "Makes sense. Six eyes, one billion—fair price."

Yaga: …

Shino: …

Three crows floated overhead, trailing ellipses. The air grew heavy with awkward silence.

They exchanged contact info and parted ways.

An hour later, Shino Gojo stormed back to the Gojo estate, heading straight for the master bedroom. In the grand, traditional chamber, baby Satoru slept soundly, guarded by four formidable clan elders stationed behind sliding screens.

"Thank you, elders," Shino said, bowing.

"No trouble at all, Lord Shino," one replied. "Protecting Satoru, the Six Eyes heir, is our honor."

Shino bowed again and retreated to his study. On his desk sat a laptop and a stack of papers—Sulien Daelan's files, down to his family history and a kindergarten confession to a neighbor girl that ended in rejection. Shino wasn't clan head for nothing; Sulien's sudden appearance screamed suspicion. After parting at the factory, he'd called the clan's intelligence team to dig up everything on Sulien.

He pored over the files and a surveillance video of Sulien's cursed spirit encounter, watching it on loop. No discrepancies. Sulien was a model citizen—kind, polite, with glowing teacher reviews. After college in Tokyo, he'd become a typical salaryman, explaining his wage obsession.

Meanwhile, back at Jujutsu High, Yaga hunched over the same files in his dorm. His conclusion mirrored Shino's: Sulien faced a cursed spirit, awakened his cursed energy in a life-or-death moment, and punched through the creature's skull with raw power. Perfectly plausible. No red flags.
