After a series of miserable screams, the Third Raikage dragged his son A upstairs and found the private room. It had to be said, it was quite luxurious. The Hokage sat in the main seat, with Hatake Sakumo standing beside him.
To his left was Tsuchikage Ōnoki, to his right was Chiyo from Sunagakure. Further down was Yagura from Kirigakure, and finally, near the door, there was one last seat, for the Third Raikage, A.
Raikage A's mouth twitched. He looked at Granny Chiyo. How did she have the nerve to sit at the Hokage's right hand? It was one thing to have Ōnoki on the left, but how did it end up being her on the right?
However, thinking of his own disappointing son, Raikage A decided not to argue. He pulled out the chair and sat down like a boss.
His right hand rested on the pure white table, making his skin look even darker, or perhaps the table even whiter.
Seeing this, Ryun nodded, then clapped his hands twice, "Clap! Clap!" Two people walked in from outside. They were none other than the two secretaries from Ryun's time in the Konoha Military Police Force—Nara Seifū and Nara Meigetsu.
"Before we eat, I will announce one thing. The Second Five Kage Summit will be held in Konoha. Does anyone have any objections?" Ryun said, his hands propping up his chin, his voice low.
The four Kage were stunned at first, feeling incredulous, but then they nodded helplessly. Originally, the purpose of attending Ryun's wedding was to ease tensions with Konoha. Now, holding the Five Kage Summit here, though controversial for not being in the Land of Iron, was something they had to accept given Ryun and Konoha's current strength.
"Since no one has any objections, let's begin the meeting. First, a summary of the Second Shinobi World War." Nara Seifū handed the documents to Ryun.
Ryun took the documents. Clearly, everything had been prepared in advance, but he was using this opportunity, with everyone gathered in Konoha, to announce the results early.
"First, Sunagakure initiated a war against Konoha without cause. Konoha was forced to respond and counterattack, ultimately achieving victory. Does Granny Chiyo have any different views on this?" Ryun smiled as he looked at Chiyo.
Chiyo's face stiffened, then she forced a smile. "Yes, yes, you are correct. It was Sunagakure's fault."
She lowered her head, putting on a brave face. What else could she do? Lead Sunagakure's current force of less than 6,000 new shinobi to fight Konoha to the death? Don't be ridiculous. Would they only stop when the village was on the brink of destruction?
Now, Chiyo no longer had the heart to compete, or rather, she no longer had any covetous desires toward her neighbor.
Ryun alone was currently at the peak of the shinobi world, version T0. Not to mention the two other T0s, Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha. There were also two T1s: Uchiha Izuna and Tobirama Senju.
Sunagakure only had Pakura and Chiyo, who were T2, and Master Bunpuku, who was nearing his end and could barely be considered a low ranking T1. So, it was better to just obediently admit defeat.
The other Kage had varied expressions. Looking at Chiyo's face, they felt some pity. They had also received the battle reports. It really wasn't Chiyo's fault. It was mainly the Third Kazekage who was too incompetent. He sent one batch to their deaths, then went himself, and got himself killed too.
What a pure, utter pig of a teammate.
Ryun smiled and nodded. He was very satisfied with Chiyo's reaction. He continued, "However, in light of Sunagakure's good attitude in admitting fault, Konoha does not intend to pursue further blame. We plan to draft a new agreement, hoping for friendly relations between our two nations, without raising weapons against each other."
"Thank you for your mercy, Lord Hokage. Sunagakure is willing to accept Lord Hokage's arrangements. Please go easy on us." Chiyo sighed. This was all she could do.
There was no other way. Sunagakure was poor. She had no money. She could only throw away her pride and beg Ryun to ask for less money.
"Naturally. Since we are forming an alliance, we will not make things too difficult for our allies." Ryun raised an eyebrow, then had Seifū hand the pre prepared agreement to Chiyo of Sunagakure.
Chiyo opened the agreement and read it from beginning to end. She couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. An annual tribute of ten million ryo in silver, for ten years. This was acceptable. The key point was one clause stating that Sunagakure would be under Konoha's protection.
What she valued was this sentence. So, she didn't say much else. She took out the Kazekage's seal, stamped it on the agreement, then signed it.
"I hope that if Sunagakure faces difficulties in the future, Konoha will not hesitate to support us." Chiyo held the agreement with both hands. No one knew exactly what was written in the agreement between Konoha and her.
However, seeing this, it seemed to be something like a mutual assistance pact between allies.
"Naturally. After this, for matters Sunagakure can handle, Konoha will not intervene. For matters Sunagakure cannot handle, just send word, and Konoha will certainly stand up for Sunagakure." As soon as Ryun said this, Chiyo was overjoyed, while the other three Kage's faces darkened.
This agreement seemed very powerful! It could actually make a veteran like Chiyo so happy and elicit such a big promise from Ryun. If they had the chance, they would want to try for something similar too.
After dealing with Sunagakure, Ryun glanced at Ōnoki. Ōnoki's heart sank. Here it comes.
"Ōnoki, Iwagakure betrayed our agreement and sent troops to attack Konoha. Konoha had no choice but to defend itself. After a 'difficult' battle, we ultimately achieved victory." Ryun lied without even blinking, leaving Ōnoki utterly confused.
What nonsense? Defense? Using Sage Art: True Several Thousand Hands, Top Transformation Buddha for defense? In that battle, he nearly died. If it weren't for the Iwagakure shinobi protecting him at the cost of their lives, fighting until the heavens and earth went dark, Iwagakure would probably have been annexed by Kumogakure by now! But these words, Ōnoki only dared to mutter in his heart. He didn't quite dare say them out loud.
Just as the Third Tsuchikage Ōnoki stood up, ready to bargain and argue with Ryun, the private room door was kicked open.
"Hey! Grandson, you called me here. What's the matter?" Madara Uchiha, wearing his red Warring States era armor, barged in.
Ōnoki, who had just stood up, tensed up, his eyes wide open. He sat back down. The other four Kage gasped, especially Chiyo, who had seen Madara Uchiha before.
And Ōnoki, he was trembling all over. The only person who had ever made him abandon his Will of Stone was right in front of him, and he looked much younger than him.
"U, Uchiha Madara. To think you really were revived!" Ōnoki's trembling voice came out.
Madara raised an eyebrow. Oh? Someone actually dared to call him by his full name? His gaze swept over. "You are?" To be honest, there were very few people Madara Uchiha remembered.
"Madara, I am the Third Tsuchikage, Ōnoki of the Two Scales!" Ōnoki roared, looking at Madara, with seven parts fear and three parts anger.
"Hmm? Oh... you're that little brat from back then. To think you've grown so old! And even became Tsuchikage. How is Mu doing?" Madara said casually.
