After turning off the video, Lily Shaw dove into the warm, large bed. The room was cozy, yet she felt cold. She scanned the room, not seeing the man she longed to see.
Since marrying Aiden Grant, she rarely stayed alone. Now, her room felt empty, devoid of any vitality.
Loneliness and solitude struck strongly.
Lily Shaw tossed and turned irritably, finally pulling the blanket over her head. After curling inside for a while, she whispered, "Good night, Mr. Grant."
While nestled in the warm blanket, Lily Shaw had a strange illusion: she wasn't alone in this room; beside her lay the man who brought her countless warmth...
After a long silence, Lily Shaw felt her breath becoming labored. She had to throw off the blanket and gazed vacantly at the white wall.
She suddenly missed her Mr. Grant dearly, wondering what he might be doing and whether he missed her as much as she missed him...
