As soon as Lily Shaw stepped into the company, she was stopped at the door by Gigi Sawyer. "Lily Shaw, why are you so late? If you're going to come this late, you might as well not come at all!"
"Are you questioning me?" Lily smiled faintly. Had she really done something so unforgivable?
Gigi was silenced by her retort, paused, then raised her voice a bit and said, "Lily Shaw, you'd better watch yourself."
After finishing, she strode off in her high heels, leaving Lily utterly bewildered.
Gigi's words drew Mandy Young over. Slightly flustered, Mandy grabbed Lily's hand as soon as she approached and said, "Lily, just take today off. I'll call in for you."
Lily was completely confused now. Gigi had left after dropping a random threat, and now even Mandy was urging her to get away as if hiding from a disaster. What on earth had happened?
"Mandy, tell me the truth, what's going on? People have been staring at me since I walked in, and now you're saying this—what actually happened?"
