The director, a person seasoned by storms, glanced at Molly Ward upon hearing about her encounter. Seeing her looking as though she wished she could find a hole to crawl into, he began to harbor some doubts about her story.
After Mandy Young explained the sequence of events, she wisely kept her mouth shut. She had only spoken up because she was concerned that Lily Shaw might not express it clearly.
Lily Shaw bowed her head, lost in thought, but when she sensed the director's gaze on her, she suddenly looked up and met his eyes.
The director smiled at her amiably, "Miss Shaw, my last name is Warren. You can call me Officer Warren."
"Officer Warren?" Lily Shaw chuckled, her eyes motioning toward the badge on his chest. "I find this title somewhat unsuitable; Director Warren, there's no need to be so modest."
