Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Little Husband Who Looks Like Her Ex

"Let's go, shall we head for dinner?"

Shi Jue gave Xu Mo a warning glance and followed behind Ruan Li, sitting next to her.

Ruan Li rubbed her belly. She had just snacked a bit, but faced with the tantalizing aroma and taste of the food in front of her, she was willing to eat a little more.

It must be said that this is indeed the most popular restaurant on Planet A, and the taste of the dishes is beyond words.

Ruan Li's favorite dish was the spicy stir-fried pork. The spiciness was appetizing, the green peppers had a slightly sweet taste, and the meat was tender and juicy. She found herself eating with great appetite, mixing it with two bowls of rice.

Bai He was in the upstairs bedroom, leaving only the three of them in the living room, with Shi Jue and Xu Mo sitting to Ruan Li's left and opposite her, respectively.

Shi Jue had eaten some as well, even though he had just eaten quite a bit. But since these were dishes from Xiang Lalan, the most popular restaurant on Planet A, it would feel like a waste not to eat. Moreover, it was Xu Mo who footed the bill this time, so he was determined to have a hearty meal.

Xu Mo wasn't particularly fond of spicy flavors, only loving the restaurant's honey-glazed chicken butts.

He rested his chin on his hand, watching Ruan Li, who couldn't handle spicy food, but loved the spicy stir-fried pork. Her pink lips were turned into a bright red pout from the spice, her nose sniffling as she ate, her eyes and nose both reddened, clearly overwhelmed by the heat.

In spite of this, she was still enamored with the spicy stir-fried pork.

Xu Mo found, for a fleeting moment, that the way she ate was adorable.

His expression stiffened for a second, inwardly scoffing—how could such tearful, snotty eating look be considered cute?

He poked at the bottom of his bowl with his chopsticks, realizing that the second bowl of rice had already disappeared unnoticed.

After Ruan Li finished her meal blissfully, she downed two cups of cold water, yet her mouth still felt so hot that she wanted to cry.

Shi Jue had only ever seen the fierce "Ruan Li," not her teary-eyed, cherry-red lips looking like ripe cherries, panting with her mouth open...

His gaze was fixated, his Adam's apple moving up and down.

Breathing seemed to pause for a moment, and even his brain forgot to react.

"Thud."

Xu Mo set down his chopsticks, the sound jolting Shi Jue awake.

His face turned bright red instantly, stammering anxiously, "Why are you crying?"

Could it be she's upset?

Shi Jue had seemingly forgotten how much he used to detest "Ruan Li," now sitting by her side, at a loss trying to console the "sad" little female.

Xu Mo watched this coarse lion with a wooden expression, ridiculously filled with flattery, and sneered coldly.

"If you can't handle it, don't force yourself."

The man's face held a smile, but the chill in his eyes was piercing.

Ruan Li, overwhelmed by the spicy aroma, and Shi Jue, whose heart was solely focused on the Female Head, didn't notice the change in his attitude.

"Ruannuan, your lips are all red, does it hurt?" Shi Jue asked with furrowed brows, full of concern.

"No, it doesn't hurt," Ruan Li said, covering her mouth, her eyes reddened with tears.

Why was Shi Jue getting so close?

She's just spiced, not injured!

This was the first time in her life someone had stared at her spicy-red lips with such a worried look.

So embarrassing...

Warmth covered her palm, and she could only feel her mouth burning fiercely.

A sense of recklessness yet joy.

Ruan Li tearfully asked Shi Jue to keep his distance.

Shi Jue didn't understand why the little female, who was clearly in pain to the point of tears, didn't want him to watch.

Was she shy?

He silently observed Ruan Li's bashful, angry expression, in his heart swooning, thinking: So cute.

Ruan Li, overwhelmed by the intense and strange gaze, fled, running to the kitchen to rinse her mouth with cold water.

The ignored Xu Mo leaned back in his chair, his chest gently rising and falling.

How dare they ignore him?

He was the one who paid for the meal.

He even sat right in front of her.

Yet throughout the meal, she only focused on one plate of meat!

If this self-proclaimed charming fox were in beast form, his tail would surely be bristled with rage right now.

Knock knock knock—

There was a knock at the front door.

Clearly, none of the three in the living room wanted to answer it.

The sound faded, waited a moment, then rang out again.

Screech—

Xu Mo got up to open the door, naturally aware it was Ruan Li's fourth beast husband standing outside now.

As a male Beastman, he should openly and graciously accept the juniors.

Xu Mo, with a sullen face, walked briskly to the door and jerked it open with a bang.

He glanced at the black-clad male Beastman at the door, his keen sense of smell causing him to wrinkle his nose.

Nothing more than the overwhelming smell of blood assaulting his nostrils.

Xu Mo stepped aside, "Come in."

Zhe Ye didn't hesitate, striding into the house, his gaze subtly sweeping over the entire living room including the open kitchen.

"Zhe Ye, Five-star Gold Ability, beast form is a wolf."

His words were concise and straightforward, with a half-open black trench coat and a perfectly buttoned black shirt to the top, a strong, perfect jawline adding a few measures of sternness, and ash-gray eyes narrowing, intently watching the petite figure in the kitchen.

That was his Female Head.

Ruan Li, hearing the noise, quickly tidied up and rushed to the living room.

"Hello, my name is Ruan Li." The air paused for a while, with Ruan Li realizing that he was waiting for her response, only then did she remember to introduce herself.

The voice was indeed as he imagined, soft and sweetly pleasant to the ear.

Zhe Ye secretly scrutinized the frail-looking woman in front of him, and the first impression brought by sight was even more unforgettable than her photo.

Her porcelain skin was white with a tinge of pink, her lips soft and dewy, as if waiting to be plucked like a flower. Zhe Ye had once eaten flowers to heal his wounds, bitter yet fragrant, but far less enticing than the warm fragrance before him, which made him momentarily dazed.

Zhe Ye observed her tense nervousness, his fingertips slightly curling in.

"Glad to be living with you in the future."

Ruan Li looked up, giving him one more glance, but then froze.

Could it be her ex-husband?

Except for the eyes and hairstyle being slightly different, the resemblance was almost seventy percent!

"Shen Che?"

The man before her had no response, making Ruan Li feel a moment of disappointment. She thought maybe her ex-husband had traveled here too...

Zhe Ye pursed his lips. Although he didn't know what Ruan Li was saying, from her initial reaction of seemingly meeting someone familiar, combined with the name she mentioned, it wasn't hard to infer that she was calling him by another man's name.

The chilling aura around the man grew visibly sharper, his thick eyebrows slightly furrowed.

"Do you know me?"

"No, I've just seen your photo." Ruan Li quickly adapted, being no fool, and wouldn't mention her ex-husband's matter in front of her little husband.

Though Ruan Li hadn't fully accepted the concept of a world with Beastmen and superpowers, she very smoothly embraced the wonderful life of three husbands and four concubines.

She knew she had a major husband, seemingly very distant now, making her instinctively reluctant to approach; the second husband was a beautiful and mischievous character, with somewhat peculiar behavior, appearing quite frivolous; the third husband seemed a bit dull-witted, but was sunny and cheerful like a little wolfdog, with whom she enjoyed interacting; the fourth husband was coolly handsome, also resembling her ex-boyfriend; and she hadn't yet checked the details on the little husband.

"Mhm."

The man responded, seemingly accepting her awkward explanation.

Seeing the awkward ambiance, Ruan Li quickly said, "Have you had dinner? We still have..."

Uh, some leftovers?

Zhe Ye, noticing the lively expression on Ruan Li's face, couldn't help his lips from curving upward, smoothing things over by saying, "I ate something simple on the way."

Bai He might have heard the commotion in the living room and came down to greet Zhe Ye.

"There are some vacant rooms on the second floor; feel free to choose any."

Zhe Ye nodded, selecting the room next to Ruan Li's.
