Ethan Grant glanced at Serena Sullivan, smiling at him, and followed Simon Sterling outside.
Ethan wasn't sure what Simon wanted to discuss, but it was surely related to Serena.
"Serena was very upset yesterday and cried a lot," Simon said directly. "She rarely cries like that."
"I know," Ethan said apologetically. "I was busy rushing over to see her and forgot to reply to her messages."
"Her condition has been a bit off lately."
Simon continued.
"Yes, I'll spend more time with her."
During the early stages of pregnancy, Serena rested in bed, and he hadn't seen her so troubled.
"Ethan," Simon spoke softly, his tone prompting Ethan to look back seriously, "Dad, if you have something to say, just say it."
"If there's anything I'm doing wrong, please tell me."
The father and son-in-law rarely engaged in such earnest conversations.
Simon scrutinized Ethan from a father-in-law's perspective, finding no faults in Ethan?
