Claire Sullivan secretly looked through the small window of the hospital room and saw Serena Sullivan sitting in a wheelchair talking to Anna Morgan. Sunlight streamed into the room, and she smiled beautifully.

Claire Sullivan watched, her eyes growing redder, tears quickly rolling out one by one. Her Serena was abandoned by her biological father before she was even born, then had a mother like her, and had her legs crippled and body ruined. Each one now feels like a knife cutting at her heart.
