Serena Sullivan prepared to leave the office when she heard hurried footsteps outside. She gripped the watch on the table tightly, ready to call for Finn Chandler and the others in case of any unexpected situation.
Though The Grant Corporation had plenty of security at night, it was unlikely anything unforeseen would happen.
The footsteps drew nearer. As Serena kept her eyes on the door, she saw the man's aloof face, and her anxious heart immediately settled back into place. She placed the watch back on the table.
"Why are you still here?"
Ethan Grant was the first to speak, asking with displeasure.
Serena looked at him with confusion as he entered, wondering why he had come!
Earlier, Ethan had gone to Eastwood, busy until after five in the afternoon, then was called by Julian Ford to "Tranquil Retreat" for drinks. But no matter how important the matter, it couldn't surpass her.
"I just have a bit of work left to finish."
