Serena Sullivan returned to the dining table, picked up her chopsticks again. Somehow, her eyes were red, and she struggled to force a smile. Soon, the moistness in her eyes disappeared, and she slowly resumed eating.
With the door closed, Ethan Grant didn't leave immediately. He leaned against the wall, took out a cigarette, and started smoking.
When did he start to like cigarettes?
Was it when he knew something happened to her? Or when he woke up in the dark?
He couldn't remember, he just knew that at the moment she returned, his entire life unexpectedly cracked open, revealing new possibilities.
After finishing the cigarette, he took out his phone, made a call, and then took the elevator to leave.
After dinner, Serena went back to her room to rest. A servant knocked on her door and handed something over.
"Ma'am, I noticed your phone screen was broken, so I bought one outside, not sure if it helps?"
