Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 Drunk

Shang Chi flipped over, pinning Jiang Zhi—strong arms caging her, gaze intense.

His face loomed close—dark eyes reflecting her flustered expression.

So near—a tiny move, and their lips would meet.

She breathed shallowly, clutching the sheets—fingertips white.

Since sending Jiang Qinian away, no kisses—only daily baths, nightly embraces, and "hand help."

Half a month—his aura softened, or she'd grown used to it. No longer terrifying.

She pushed his chest, avoiding eye contact. "You're drunk."

Her hand retreated—caught by his.

He leaned in—stopping just short of her lips.

A breath apart, hearts racing.

The air hummed with tension.

He stroked her palm, voice low. "Drunk—so what."

The other hand slid to her waist, kneading gently through her pajamas.

Electric shocks—tingling down her spine.

She clutched the sheets tighter—his lips met hers, soft, fleeting.

Too soon, he pulled back.

Jiang Zhi froze—he rolled away, then back, hugging her.

"Rest easy—drunk men don't force themselves."

Jiang Zhi: "..."

But what about the hardness against her?

For half a month, she felt his restraint—respect, even in pain. Why? He'd mentioned Grandpa wanting great-grandchildren.

Not love—Jiang Qinian taught her: three years of devotion, then betrayal.

No more risks.

His scent lulled her—she drifted off.

Shang Chi waited—her breathing steady, he slipped out, heading to the bathroom—cold shower.

Next day, Tianheng Entertainment.

Jiang Zhi returned to work—called to Qing Jie's office.

Expecting Jiang Qinian talk—she pushed in. "Qing Jie? Urgent?"

Qing Jie—short hair, sharp suit, softened at her voice. "Contract—need your signature."

Jiang Zhi assumed big project—flipped to the first page, stunned.

She looked up. "This is…?"

Qing Jie smirked, nodding to a girl behind. "Introduce yourself to Jiang Zhi."

The girl—early 20s, sweet—stepped forward. "Jiang Jie, Xu Jiarou—please guide me."

Jiang Zhi shook her hand, confused. "Manage her?"

Qing Jie: "Yes—promise to make her B-level in a year. Fail, pay penalties."

Too sudden—something's off.

But it's the only way to escape Jiang Qinian.

She signed—then realized: Qing Jie, a self-interest, wouldn't help for free.

The contract meant: no longer Jiang Qinian's agent, but Xu Jiarou's. Qing Jie would pay Jiang Qinian's penalties.

Understanding this, she stopped Xu Jiarou. "Wait—I need to talk to Qing Jie."

Xu Jiarou left—Jiang Zhi asked, "Who ordered this?"

Qing Jie raised a brow. "Clever women attract attention—add beauty? A disaster. No wonder Zhou Assistant likes you."

She smirked. "Thank Zhou Assistant."

Jiang Zhi nodded—only Shang Chi would help break free from Jiang Qinian. But why?

Possessiveness? Or something else?

Exiting, she ran into Lin Yanyan—who latched onto her arm, missing Xu Jiarou.

Phone in hand, she gasped. "Shang Chi's body is fire—tall, legs, eight-pack, and… there! Huge!!"

She zoomed a photo. "The girl with him last night—must've had the best night ever."
