Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: The Way He Loves [2]

After making sure that this student ID card was real and not fake, Kael could rest assured to put it in his pocket.

After that, he turned to admire Evelyn who was sleeping in silence.

To be honest, it seemed like he was captivated by her beauty.

Evelyn was definitely the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Whether it was in the game or in his previous life.

Her chest was heaving, her red lips were slightly parted.

Making others want to kiss her right away.

Wait.

'What the hell was I thinking just now?'

Kael was stunned.

He really didn't dare to remember what he had just thought of.

Slap!

Without anyone needing to remind him, he slapped himself hard, forcing himself not to have such crazy thoughts anymore.

"..."

What should Kael do now?

Evelyn was sleeping, so he couldn't do anything too noisy.

Suddenly, something unexpected happened.

Rumble!

The ground began to shake slightly without warning.

But instead of checking the source, he checked to see if it would affect the villainess's sleep.

He didn't know why he did it.

By the time he realized it, Kael had already come to her side.

Apparently, the earthquake just now had affected Evelyn, but thankfully, she only raised her eyebrows and hadn't woken up yet.

"Phew."

Only after he was sure that she was okay did he relax a little.

Rumble!

The earthquake continued, showing no signs of stopping.

Something was strange.

Each tremor had a certain rhythm, not random, as if… they were footsteps.

"Wait."

A terrible idea flashed through his mind.

Without hesitation, Kael pulled out his dagger and ran outside.

The worst thing he had thought had actually happened.

Outside, heading towards the house were several Tower Creatures. There were both big and small, and they came in all sorts of strange and disgusting shapes.

At a glance, Kael could tell that all of them were of the lowest rank, so dealing with them all wouldn't be too much of a problem.

But what really bothered him was why were they heading towards Evelyn's house?

Furthermore, it was extremely rare for different types of Tower Creatures to come together without conflict.

'…Are they being controlled?'

That was definitely the answer.

And the one controlling them was most likely one of the ones who had bullied the villainess.

A helpless smile appeared on the corner of his lips.

'Damn, they really are demons in human form.'

He stepped outside, gently closing the door behind.

So these Tower Creatures were the reason why Evelyn looked so tired?

Very well.

'Looks like I have some more problems to deal with after this.'

He stretched his muscles.

Then he gripped his dagger tightly.

Kael's eyes flashed with a cruel and ruthless glint.

[Authority of Gluttony.]

— I had a dream.

— No.

— It was a nightmare.

— I thought I would never see it again.

— But I was wrong.

— In that nightmare, I was trapped somewhere I didn't know.

— There was only white, nothing else.

— My two legs, my two arms, my neck, my body, were all locked by a chain.

— I looked like a dirty dog.

— The worst was yet to come.

— In that nightmare, I met the people I didn't want to see the most.

— They brought back memories I didn't want to remember.

— It was really dreadful.

Evelyn slowly opened her eyes, blinking a few times, trying to get used to the morning light.

'How long have I been sleeping for?'

She looked out the window.

It was really morning.

'…Then what about those monsters?'

She hadn't been killed yet, and the house hadn't been destroyed, so it seemed like they weren't coming today.

'How lucky.'

Suddenly, the villainess recalled the extremely handsome guy she had met.

A faint smile appeared on the corner of her lips.

Although he was just someone who appeared in her dream, to be honest, Evelyn really wanted to see him again.

After all, he was really a good person.

But it was a pity that he was just a figment of her imagination.

'Hmm? Wait, how did I get back home?'

The villainess felt puzzled, but was quickly distracted by the fragrant aroma coming from inside the kitchen.

Her stomach had already started to protest from hunger.

Expressionlessly, Evelyn looked at it with disdain.

'I guess I didn't eat last night…'

Slowly, she dragged her body, which was still sore from yesterday's torture, to the kitchen, only to be greeted by a table filled with all sorts of different dishes.

Every dish looked extremely novel and eye-catching, proving that they were indeed delicious.

But who cooked them?

Just then, a familiar voice rang out from behind, answering her question.

"Sorry, I didn't know what you like to eat or what you're allergic to, so I've made a lot of different dishes."

Almost immediately, the beautiful villainess turned around, rubbing her eyes a few times, certain that it was the guy who helped her yesterday.

"…You are real?" She said in an extremely small voice.

Those soulless, cold, and distant red eyes were fixed on him.

Making Kael mistakenly think that she felt angry because he was wasting ingredients.

"Sorry, I know you think I'm wasting ingredients. But I swear I only use ingredients that are close to their expiration date! I haven't touched anything fresh!"

"What are you talking about?" Evelyn tilted her head.

It was his turn to feel stupid.

"Aren't you angry because I used too many ingredients to cook?"

"Pftt…"

She covered her mouth and laughed, causing Kael's face to turn redder than a tomato.

So elegant and refined.

Sometimes, he really doubted whether this villainess was the young lady of some family.

"What is this?"

Evelyn asked, using her fork to poke the plate of dumplings in front of her.

"It's called dumplings. And you don't need to be careful, it's not poisonous."

"Oh, it's not poisonous? That makes me even more suspicious."

Even as she said that, Evelyn still picked up the dumpling, blew on it for a while, then took a small bite.

"Gulp."

On the opposite side, Kael was more nervous than ever.

Lesson 2:

The fastest way to someone's heart is through their stomach <3.

What if the villainess said the food wasn't good?

What if she said it's disgusting?

If so, wouldn't all the effort he put into preparing all these dishes be for nothing?

Finally, Evelyn let the dumplings go down into her stomach.

"..." She stayed silent for a long time.

"...Is it good?" Kael asked shyly.

He was mentally prepared to be criticized.

But fortunately, his preparation was useless.

"It's quite good."

"Really?!"

He beamed.

"Why would I lie to you?"

Faced with a Kael who was shining brighter than the sun itself, Evelyn still remained calm and cool.

Breakfast continued peacefully.

"What are you doing today, Kael?" Evelyn asked, picking up a spoonful of stir-fried spinach and putting it on her plate.

"Today? Maybe I'll go to the academy."

"The academy? I thought you're not a student there?"

"Yesterday, I wasn't, but today I am."

"You're really a strange person, you know that?"

"..." Kael didn't respond, just focused on finishing his wonton noodles.

"So what are you going to do at the academy? You don't look like someone who would actually study like a student."

He paused, looking at her with a meaningful gaze.

"I came to pursue you. I told you, I like you a lot."

The villainess paused.

"I thought you were just joking?"

He still looked straight into her seductive eyes.

"I never joke about love."

"..."

"So, my lady, do I have a chance to pursue you?" Kael winked at Evelyn.

"...Try it if you can."

A short answer.

And that was all he needed.
