Chapter 6 - Chapter 6 - Pieces of a Puzzle

ROAR!

The serpent roared its anger out to the endless sky it was in the clutches of a monster of flesh. It wiggles its body trying to escape even if its scales are coming off. Edward was trying to find Leo in a hunt. Both had faced backlash for summoning strong creatures. Leo had suffered mental damage while Edward sustained physical damage.

With both parties in such a perilous and desperate situation who would win? A battle of wits which Edward could win and a battle of power Leo could win. Maybe not. Leo's sweat covered his body. Limping away he felt the pain eating up his stamina. Shrouded in darkness Edward jumped from roof to roof trying to catch Leo. Sometimes he fell down because the roofs were unstable slowing him. Leo scratched his neck ferociously.

ROAR!

The serpent had finally escaped from the monster of flesh. Its blue and white scales were bloodied and had scraps of skin. Its tail was about the fall of the body. Though it was not alive it had an instinct every human—no being had.

Survival.

It then creeped up to the flesh monster and coiled around the flesh monster ascending to its head, where there were tens of faces. The scales of serpent scraped the flesh of the monsters. The monster groaned in frustration and tried using its strength but failed.

The snake's strong point was suffocating the enemy by using this method. But the serpent was and even had sharp scales so the scale of the attack was massive. It punctured many holes in the monster blood gushing out like a water fall. As the serpent went high it launched spears to stop the monster from regenerating its flesh and let out a blazing fire.

Though it has not killed the monster it had done a considerable amount of damage. The flesh monster was now much more furious and smashed the ground repeatedly. The serpent was losing balance. It used the vines coiled around its body to stay balanced but the monster didn't stop. It seemed to be crying?

Black, red and clear tears flowed down from their faces. The snake tried to bite the monster with only a clean bite. The flesh monster used hundreds of limbs to block the bite and sent the serpent flying fifteen meters away.

"DEATH DIE DEATH DIE"

It jumped up trying to slam the serpent. The serpent rolled away using vines and smacked its tail on the flesh monster. The serpent's tail fell off. It was time to finish this. The serpent rushed towards the flesh monster trying to ram it. The flesh monster did the same.

They charge at each other. Terrifying speeds. A battle between beasts and monsters. Trying to devour whoever loses. An absolute death match. The bodies grinded the ground so many rocks were sent flying to the back.

As they crashed many things flew through the air, bones, limbs, blood, flesh, ice, vines, fire, and rocks. Both looked as if they were smashed together. The serpent's head broke apart and it was disappearing while the flesh monster lost most of its mass but was still standing. It had won.

Leo was still running but had caught a glimpse of Edward's burnt and torn robe. He was out of breath trying to escape from Edward like a prey escaping the hunter. With each step droplets of rain fell down. Noir came out of Leo's soul and looked at him amusing.

"Leo, seems to be in trouble need me to clean the mess"

'You can't…he too strong…checked'

"Oh so even by using my power at its limits you couldn't win"

"Wait that's right my lightning can go at the speed of light not even holding a candle to it so how could you win against such a person"

"I suppose I will agree with 2qyou this time but you are losing aren't you"

Leo nodded his head. Suddenly Edward jumped down from a building landing on the ground. Rocks were all around making Leo not able to escape.

Leo but his lip. As he launches spikes of ice towards Edward. Edward slightly gritted his teeth and dodged them with a dash to the side. Thunder loomed over the sky. Clouds filled with lightning.

Edward gave it his all rushing towards Leo, his sword pointing toward Leo's stomach. Lightning stuck around the battlefield. Edward stopped all motion in fright. Leo smirked and manipulated the lightning toward Edward.

To be exact Leo's had planned all this! It was because he made the serpent as a distraction. Then he launched water and small pieces of ice to the sky so he could summon lightning. And if he manipulated it, it would match the speed of light leaving Edward defenceless waiting for his fate.

"No no no this can't be the end!"

"Master help"

He begged towards the sky. Lightning poured down on Edward's body puncturing holes in his body. Blood gushed out on the floor. Leo stepped on the pool of blood.

SPLASH!

The rain covered Leo's face and laughed. It was that he was feeling sad, happy or accomplished. It was because he was amused by the dead man's face. Leo laughed loudly. He then stopped his laugh because he heard a loud thump. Leo was tired and fell to his face. The flesh monster was on the move, its skin shrouded in darkness.

It recklessly destroyed the buildings, sending debris all around it. Vonica, who had just finished fighting a dark mage, saw the destruction. Her eyes filled with rage. Shira had evacuated everybody heading toward Leo's location.

Vonica, seeing the flesh monster, had a disgusted expression. She launched a huge fireball aimed at the monster. The monster with its chunky body had not been phased at all.

Shira on the other hand was leaping from building to building trying to find Leo but noticed the monster. Her eyes wavered with hesitation. Vonica at the same time used wind blades on the flesh monster, slicing its body.

The sudden daggers flew through the air sticking on the flesh of the monster. It was shira she took out her blade and slashed the monster ferociously. Blood splattering to her face. The flesh monster, irritated, used its limbs to push away Shira. Vonica then launched a series of icicles from the sky and pillars of earth from the ground.

Trying to trap the monster of flesh.

"DEATH DEATH DEATH DEATH"

It scratched its flesh leaving deep wounds on its skin and flesh. It then spins around like a top decimating the earth pillars and spikes of ice. Vonica made a tornado a few meters taller than the monster. The monster's balance shifted and Shira used her blessing to slash the monster.

She then repeated this sequence slash, stab, and slice. Blood dropped and scattered everywhere in fury. The monster clawed into its flesh and decapitated a huge piece of flesh and threw it toward Vonica. Shira noticed that and flew back. Toward the piece of flesh. Vonica used fireballs to block the attack. And threw even more toward the flesh monster.

The flesh monster stayed persistent handling all the attacks. It then rushed toward Vonica who was preparing a spell. She seemed defenceless but she had already casted a shield spell! The flesh monster's real aim was the building under Vonica.

Her focus crumbled and spatted a mouthful of blood from the backlash. She covered her mouth as the building crumbled down. She tried to stabilize herself but ultimately failed. Shira on the other hand struggles to find any weakness for the monster. Its enormous mass matches Shira's strength.

Shira then activated her blessing and gritted her teeth. Her sword sliced the air and sky apart. Even the flesh monster staggered back a few meters. With a painful expression Shira ran towards the flesh monster an anger she had suppressed was released.

The monster's eyes widened with disbelief of its own death and blocked the attack. But Shira didn't stop and tried to close in on the monster. Its fear surged to the peak and started running away. Vonica came out of the debris with blood running from her head. Breathing heavily. She then made a wall of earth to block the monster's path.

Shira green eyes glistened as she lunged towards the monster of flesh. She slashed her blade again and again as blood spewed out. The monster cried in pain. She then jumped up toward the flesh monster's numerous faces and stabbed it. Her sword gleaned with crimson red. Stab, stab, stab. An endless loop of stabbing had made the monster frightened to death.

Shira hopped back and hoped to finish this with one clean slash. She drew her blade and gripped the hilt with her two hands feeling the wool on it. The blade behind her back is about to slash the monster. She then delivered a blow which slept the clouds apart and sliced the monster in two halves. Light seeped out from the clouds which had been cut.

They had won! The battle of Gotia had ended in their victory!
