Chapter 176 - Chapter 178: Crimson Dawn

"It looks like a success." Amir took off the backpack and handed it to Kahraman.

"A complete success. Now I can report back to Ahsoka." Kahraman struggled to strap the backpack onto his back with his four arms before rushing into the testing field.

"The person delivering the funds should be arriving today. I'll go up and take a look." The high-intensity thinking and research over the past two days had worn Amir out; he needed a break.

Walking to the clinic, Amir found Milisen and 32 in a room. Both were sitting cross-legged, meditating.

Although they were technically here to play, the necessary training couldn't stop.

After relaxing on the Eternal Ark, their focus during training had actually improved.

Confirming that neither of them was slacking off, Amir left the clinic, bought an ice cream on the way, and walked toward the docking port.

Not long after, a familiar ship landed in front of Amir.

The hatch opened, and Amir was pleasantly surprised to find that the arrival was Gulina, accompanied by the black-haired little Mona.

"Gulina, are you here to deliver the funds? And Mona, too—Milisen will be very happy to know you're here." Amir greeted them.

"Yes, Ahsoka asked me to bring this." Gulina weighed the case in her hand.

"Where is Milisen?" Mona asked. She was quite familiar with Amir, having fought alongside him before.

"Follow me. It just so happens we have some good things for you to take back."

Gnawing on his ice cream, Amir certainly wouldn't let the two of them walk empty-handed. He was never stingy when it came to sharing food.

He bought another one for Milisen on the way, and the three of them walked back into the clinic.

Leading Mona to the door of Milisen's room, Amir soon heard Milisen's happy shouts from inside. Then, holding an ice cream in one hand and dragging Mona with the other, she rushed out of the room.

"Amir . . ." She wilted the moment she saw him.

"Go play with Mona. We'll count the training for tomorrow." Amir "granted" her a day off.

. . .

Riding the elevator down, Amir chatted with Gulina.

The blond little Witch looked much more mature than she had a few months ago. She radiated a sense of responsibility and a quiet confidence.

"It's been a difficult time. Planet Esteban was just attacked by the Empire. Many cities were destroyed, creating millions of refugees. But the Empire, having occupied the place, doesn't care about their lives at all; they are only focused on plundering resources. Many of our comrades have infiltrated the area to provide aid."

"And Crimson Dawn, that massive criminal syndicate, has recently gathered a large number of bounty hunters. We don't know why. Before this, they looted vast amounts of resources from various planets and slaughtered many people . . ."

Gulina had been exposed to a lot of intelligence at the base. every report was a piece of bad news; every understated word represented countless living lives lost.

The smiles on her face had become much rarer.

Amir heard the name Crimson Dawn again.

This criminal organization was secretly controlled by Maul, the former apprentice abandoned by the Sith Emperor, Darth Sidious.

Currently, the public figurehead was Han Solo's old flame, Qi'ra.

Amir didn't know much about this woman, and Han Solo was reluctant to talk about it, so the future development of Crimson Dawn remained unknown to him.

But Maul.

Amir had plans for him.

Because Amir knew where he was hiding, and he knew what he held in his hand.

through his contact with Ahsoka and the others, Amir had long realized that the chaotic state of the galaxy wasn't solely caused by the Empire.

Outside the Empire's jurisdiction, the atrocities committed by the various massive criminal syndicates were even more unsightly.

Crimson Dawn was one of the biggest players.

If possible, Amir would never let pass an opportunity to eradicate them.

Compared to the powerful Hutt clans, the terrifyingly numerous Pyke Syndicate, or the mysterious Black Sun, Crimson Dawn—which frequently issued tasks to bounty hunters and left traces—was undoubtedly the easiest target to operate on.

More importantly, Amir knew Crimson Dawn's background, knew Maul's location, and knew exactly how to deal with him.

During the Clone Wars, Maul, having returned from hell, used his powerful martial prowess to defeat the Mandalorian leader, Pre Vizsla, in a duel. He seized the weapon symbolizing the leadership of Mandalore from him—the Darksaber.

But the good times didn't last. That power didn't remain his for long.

Ahsoka defeated him and imprisoned him, but the subsequent Order 66 allowed him to escape in the chaos.

A series of upheavals failed to kill him, but they stripped him of everything he had built over the years.

Now, he had long lost control over the Mandalorians. Only the Darksaber remained in his hands.

But this weapon, useless to him now, was incomparably important in the eyes of certain Mandalorians.

For instance, Bo-Katan Kryze—who was bent on resisting Imperial oppression and freeing Mandalore from its rule. She was Duchess Satine's sister, Obi-Wan's "little . . .", and the former right-hand woman of Death Watch leader Pre Vizsla.

In her eyes, the Darksaber wasn't just a symbol. With the Darksaber, she could legitimately become the leader of the Mandalorians. Although most people no longer recognized this tradition, it would still allow her to rally a more powerful force to launch a counterattack against the Empire.

Amir could borrow a knife to kill a man. He could leak Maul's information to her. That way, those combat-ready, armored cans would actively run to Maul to initiate an attack.

Amir could also aid them from the shadows to ensure everything went smoothly.

If successful, Crimson Dawn would inevitably suffer a massive upheaval.

Amir would try to get involved and deal a heavy blow to this evil criminal syndicate.

"What else do you know about Crimson Dawn?" Amir asked the little Witch.

"They are very similar to the Hutt organizations. The top level organizes and issues tasks. There isn't a strictly rigid hierarchy and discipline, but they still obey the arrangements of the highest level. Because once you betray them, you are wanted by the entire syndicate. The result is almost without exception—death."

"In recent years, Crimson Dawn has carried out inhumane massacres and looting on many planets in the Outer Rim, accumulating massive wealth. Countless people have been displaced because of them. Crimson Dawn's leadership also changed recently, causing some instability. It is said that the original leader died in a betrayal, and a human female named Qi'ra took power. She is very capable."

"This faction wasn't originally this dominant, but in the few years following the establishment of the Empire, for some unknown reason, they were recognized by many underground forces in a very short time . . . An unknown energy pushed it onto one of the thrones of the underworld."

"Ahsoka and Pax told me all this during idle chats. They also have suspicions about this group."

Amir nodded, committing everything to memory.

Crimson Dawn . . . Maul . . .

He already knew what to do.

He hoped that ghost, who had wandered in the Force for decades, would like his gift.
