"It seems an ancient Jedi lived here." Ahsoka appeared at the doorway at some point.
Picking up the lightsaber hilt, Amir brushed off the incredibly thick layer of dust and began to examine the other corners of the room.
"This must be from four hundred years ago. This must have been a Jedi who loved to explore." Amir looked at the first mural. It depicted verdant mountain peaks and a quiet temple. In the corner below, there was a blurry date, barely recognizable.
The second mural was of a giant green bird, soaring in the air. Below it was an equally giant nest containing several pale green eggs.
"Yunyin might be one of them. That giant green bird might be its mother," Hak analyzed.
"Some creatures can live for thousands of years. A few hundred years might just be their growth period." Ahsoka seemed to sense Amir's curiosity. "For such creatures, reproduction is rare. Over such a long time, it's too hard to find a suitable mate."
Amir looked emotionally at the painting of the vibrant eggs in the nest. Of such precious life, he had only seen one survivor today. He hoped the others had successfully grown up and simply left this land to find new territories.
The following murals depicted various strange landscapes and creatures. This Jedi was probably recording the interesting things he saw during his solitude.
"What does this mural mean?" Hak stared at the last painting.
Amir also moved closer. As he observed it carefully, he found it more and more familiar. Suddenly, he remembered—these were the patterns carved on the outer wall of the Temple.
This Jedi had copied all the glyphs from the wall and studied them. On the side of this image, there were many auxiliary lines and notes, attempting to decode these patterns.
"He was researching the secrets of the Massassi civilization's murals carved on the Temple walls..." Ahsoka rubbed the auxiliary lines, making them emerge from the dust and become clearer.
Amir also stared intently for a long time, then said: "Is it possible... he just couldn't find a way in, like me..."
"..."
"..."
Ahsoka and Hak were both snapped out of their serious contemplation by Amir's comment.
Continuing to stare wouldn't yield any results. Amir had BD-4 take pictures of all these patterns, just in case they were useful later.
Amir raised the old lightsaber again. He suddenly realized that this Jedi might have spent the rest of his life here, watching over the Temple.
He suddenly felt the Force flowing on the metal casing, circulating and lingering like a faint echo.
Sensing it carefully, Amir seemed to see an image through the Force.
An old man used this lightsaber to cut through layers of shrubs. He finally saw the distant mountain peak. He joyfully waved his arms at the green figure in the sky, laughing like a child.
Amir clipped the lightsaber to his belt and walked out the door. An ethereal cry came from the depths of the sky.
Although some memories fade with time, their beauty doesn't disappear. Given the right opportunity, everything will resurface from the years and continue to be passed down.
Yunyin landed in the cleared open space. Veronica jumped off its back.
"What are you doing? Why did it drag that thing up there?" Veronica pointed to the mountaintop nest. She had just wanted to go see Yunyin, only to watch it suddenly fly down, grab an ugly beast, and come back up with dinner.
"It's avenging me, haha," Hak said, clutching his bandaged wound.
Just then, another transport ship flew toward the newly cleared landing zone. With the combined efforts of droids and various machines, the land clearing was highly efficient.
"Yay! Big bird!" The ramp opened, and Milisen jumped out.
"It's not a big bird. Its name is Yunyin," Veronica explained to Milisen, completely forgetting she used to call it the same thing.
"Oh, hello, Yunyin!" Milisen greeted it, but the white holy spirit seemed a little wary of her, ruffling its feathers.
Behind her, the group of children followed, walking down the ramp.
"Are we going to live here from now on?" Mona asked, curious about everything around her, her eyes full of hope for her future life.
"For a while, at least," Amir said, looking at the still-weak Mona.
"Mm!"
The other children were also curious about this new planet, but their emotions were clearly still suppressed. This was something that needed time to heal. Amir planned to teach Ahsoka and Gulina the reverse-brainwashing technique to slowly restore their state of mind.
"Does Milisen like it here?" Amir walked toward the Twi'lek girl who was still trying to communicate with Yunyin.
"I guess..." Milisen looked at the wary creature, her face crestfallen.
"You can feed it some food. Communicate with it slowly using friendly emotions, and it will feel your goodwill." Amir handed Milisen a few pieces of jerky, helping her build a bridge.
Amir sensed that Yunyin was repulsed by the dark energy flowing within Milisen.
Amir had thought about this. The dark side presence in Milisen's body wasn't a conventional corruption, but existed for some unknown reason, most likely related to the gene-editing experiments. This dark energy wouldn't change with her state of mind. Instead, it would always exist, dormant, waiting to erupt.
Normally, Milisen's mood and consciousness were peaceful and friendly, no different from most innocent children. But when her emotions were stimulated—like when she faced John Morley in the auxiliary lab—it would erupt suddenly like a storm.
This kind of eruption was difficult to control. This was the terror of the dark side.
You couldn't just use the dark side at will thinking you had control of your emotions. It was more insidious than imagined. The dark side was like a demon; once you tried to use it, it would drag you madly into the abyss, magnifying your strongest desires and greatest fears, making you sink into it unconsciously.
Perfectly controlling one's inner darkness wasn't something everyone could do. It was like executing Form VII of lightsaber combat, Vaapad, which required channeling one's own darkness and the joy of battle to fuel the light. This was something most Jedi Knights didn't dare to try. It was truly walking the razor's edge. Only Mace Windu could do it successfully, but he was one of the strongest and most strong-willed masters of the Order.
Milisen was undoubtedly incapable of this. At least, not now.
Amir felt helpless. He could only think of asking his Master for guidance.
