Chapter 24 - Three Days of Peace? Yeah, Right.

Three days later. Yukio, wearing his dark blue Hololive jacket over a crisp white shirt and black pants, walks into Hololive HQ with his trademark deadpan expression.

Yukio:Deadpan face, heading straight for the Administrative Work & Manager Coordination Room.

Yukio (Internally): It's been three days since I started working here. Honestly… it's been kind of peaceful.

Pause.

Narrator: …Or so he thought.

Yukio turns a corner and freezes. Two V-Tubers are locked in a heated magical duel, sparks and mana flares lighting up the hallway.

Yukio (Internally): Oh god. Yukio, why do you keep jinxing it? Deadpan glance at the chaos. Didn't know magic was actually a workplace hazard.

The combatants are La+ Darknesss and Shiranui Flare — La+ conjuring giant purple glyphs in the air, Flare summoning blades of light.

La+ Darknesss:Smirking. "Kukuku! You dare challenge the Great Devil?" She sends a volley of shadow spears.

Flare:Calm but intense. "Only to stop you from stealing my pudding again!" Her swords clash against the shadows, sending shockwaves through the hall.

One stray fireball whizzes toward Yukio. Without even blinking, he slightly tilts his head — the spell misses by mere centimeters.

Yukio (Internally): Huh. That would've fried me. Good thing my reflexes are on god mode… not that anyone needs to know.

Another spell grazes past, scorching the wall. A sudden voice cuts through the madness.

A-chan:Appearing like an omnipresent schoolteacher, arms crossed. "Enough. Both of you. Now."

The two V-Tubers instantly stop, mumbling under their breath.

La+ Darknesss: "…She started it."

Flare: "…Liar."

A-chan:Sighs, then turns to Yukio. "Don't worry, they do this almost every day."

Yukio (Internally): …Almost every day? And no one has died yet? Interesting.

Yukio just nods silently and continues to his desk.

At his desk, Yukio opens Pekora's schedule.

Yukio (Internally): Fifteen livestreams in a week? That's… a lot. Not gonna lie.

He calmly reschedules it to eight streams, then types an anonymous message in the Talent Manager chat system:

Rescheduled livestream. This week you'll only have to do 8 livestreams.

He hits send and goes back to paperwork.

Yukio (Internally): Pekora doesn't even know I work here. Hm. I'll tell her later.

Lunchtime.

Yukio (Internally): Finally, lunch. I'll just head to the cafeteria… maybe tell Pekora later.

He heads to Floor 2 — the cafeteria nicknamed "Holoheim." The place hums with female talents, managers, and editors. Yukio chooses an isolated table, pulls out a cup of instant noodles, and begins preparing it.

Suddenly, A-chan sits next to him without a word, opening her lunchbox.

Yukio (Internally): A-chan. Out of all the seats here, she picked next to me. Suspicious.

A-chan:Side-eyeing his cup noodles. "…Is that what you eat?"

Yukio:Deadpan. "Yeah."

Brief silence.

A-chan:Pushes her lunchbox toward him. "I pity you. Take mine."

Yukio:Looks at the food — perfectly cooked grilled salmon, tamagoyaki, rice with pickled plum — eyes widen slightly, then back to deadpan.

Yukio (Internally): …I cannot break character. Why is she giving me her lunchbox? Is it because my lunch is pathetic? Probably. Still… it looks ridiculously good.

Yukio: "Did you make it?"

A-chan:Nods, adjusting her glasses.

Yukio: "Thanks for the food." Calm tone, takes a bite… then proceeds to devour it like a starving wolf. "You can cook. That's nice. I only know how to make instant noodles."

A-chan:A faint blush of pride. "Thank you. I've been cooking since I was a kid."

Yukio:Deadpan. "Impressive."

A-chan:Clears throat, voice turning professional. "Anyway, I came to let you know tomorrow you'll need to review Holoheim's updated security protocols. It's routine, but the higher-ups want all managers briefed."

Yukio:Deadpan. "Got it."

End of day — Yukio packs his things and leaves his desk. The office gradually empties as evening settles over the city. Streetlights flick on; vendors start wrapping up; the hum of the day softens.

Yukio (Internally): First magical duel, then free lunch, now security work tomorrow… Yeah, this job is totally "peaceful."

He steps out of Hololive HQ. The city evening lights glimmer across the pavement as he walks home, the day folding neatly into the next task on his list — Holoheim security protocols at nine a.m. He doesn't hurry. He just goes.
