Chapter 91 - Chapter 91: Jujutsu High School Exchange Meeting!

When Itadori began his journey as a Jujutsu sorcerer, the large-scale Jujutsu High School Exchange Meeting was officially launched.

Compared to the original version, where the Tokyo and Kyoto Exchange Meetings featured only a few participants with lots of noise but little action, the current events are on a completely different scale.

Multiple Jujutsu high schools have sprouted across various regions, and exchange meetings are being held simultaneously. The strongest representatives from each school will eventually converge in Tokyo for the grand finale.

As the two oldest and most prestigious institutions, Tokyo Jujutsu High School and Kyoto Jujutsu High School have recently encountered a serious challenge:

They might not win anymore.

Cursed energy users are rare, and those with natural talent are even rarer. In this kind of environment, sheer numbers matter—and in that respect, neither Tokyo nor Kyoto holds the advantage.

The main reason is their strict admission policy. To maintain the quality of sorcerers, students can only enter through recommendations. The teachers—who are Jujutsu masters themselves—rarely go out looking for talent. Instead, they rely on chance encounters and intuition, which isn't nearly as fast or efficient as open enrollment systems.

This was one of the reasons Gojo Satoru took Itadori under his wing so aggressively.

"Hurry up and grow strong, kid—we need you!"

---

"It's about to start again..."

"We must defeat them this time!"

"Why are you so obsessed? I don't care that much. Aren't we all supposed to be working together to exorcise Cursed Spirits?"

"I don't know either... But that's what the teacher said. We just have to give it our all."

Despite being future allies, competition between schools—and sorcerers—is inevitable. The Jujutsu world, once structured around family lineages, has merely shifted to being structured around schools instead.

I may not be stronger than you... but my students will defeat yours. That's still a win!

---

Fierce battles broke out across all the regional schools, but the most intense one was happening on Kyushu Island. Since the Century War, a wave of powerful Jujutsu sorcerers had emerged there—some even reaching top-tier, first-class status.

Yet, in the midst of these high-stakes fights, Itadori and his companions weren't preparing for battle. Instead, they had been summoned by Gojo Satoru for a different mission: picking up a new freshman student.

Her name was Kugisaki Nobara.

Ah, fate—so mysterious and unpredictable.

---

To understand Kugisaki's story, we have to rewind a few years.

It was a freezing winter. Snowflakes danced in the air and blanketed the earth in white. An old man walked slowly through a remote village, his figure distinct against the endless snow.

"Hmm... Strange," he muttered. "I feel like there's something here."

He touched the walls of the old, poorly built houses, but found nothing unusual. This wasn't some illusion crafted by holy techniques...

Then why was there such overwhelming evil in the air?

Nearby, a little girl wandered aimlessly through the snow. Tears ran down her face. She had just said goodbye to her best friend, Saori—forced apart by the narrow-minded and cruel thinking of the villagers.

I don't want to stay here anymore!

---

"Hey, little one. Can I help you with something?"

The old man approached, his kind eyes warm despite the chill, his thick black coat flapping in the wind.

Kugisaki looked up at him, even sadder than before. In this cold world, there was an old man who looked just as miserable—pretending to be strong despite having nowhere to go.

This world is so full of sorrow.

She used the thick gloves on her hands to wipe the tears from her pink, frozen cheeks. Sniffling, she looked up again.

"Grandpa, are you cold? Do you want to come to my house and warm up by the fire? You'll freeze to death out here."

From a young age, Kugisaki had always spoken boldly. Her innocent words made the old man's heart warm.

What a good child.

No one had spoken to him like that in years. Most sorcerers were either overly polite or distant, afraid of his power and reputation. But this little girl... she had actually pitied him.

The old man chuckled and explained awkwardly that he wasn't a beggar—he was a special worker.

Kugisaki's eyes widened in disbelief.

Who would hire someone this old?! This world is terrifying. No—this village is terrifying. I must get out of here!

---

"Have you ever heard of Jujutsu sorcerers?" the man asked gently.

Despite her misunderstanding, he wasn't angry. On the contrary—he was surprised to discover that this child had cursed energy!

A rare talent indeed.

"Jujutsu sorcerers?" Kugisaki echoed. "I think I've heard the term, but... I can't really remember…"

She was still in shock—she'd just said farewell to her best friend, and now this strange man shows up. What a terrible day.

---

"Watch this, little one."

Before her astonished eyes, the old man's form shimmered and began to change. He grew taller, more muscular. In moments, he looked like a fit middle-aged man, though his face still bore a resemblance to his older self.

He reached out and gently ruffled her hair.

"A Jujutsu sorcerer... is someone like this."

Kugisaki's jaw dropped. "A—A monster!"

The man nearly fell over. "This is a superpower! Don't you get it? There are no monsters as smart as me!"

---

This mysterious man was none other than Daisuke Suta, once one of the strongest sorcerers during the Century War. After the war, he had aged rapidly, and people—James included—had come to check on him.

"Is he dying?" they'd wondered.

But Daisuke only smiled and refused to answer. Eventually, everyone understood that his silence meant peace, and they stopped asking.

When the government approached him for input on the Nine-Pillar Statue, they were stunned to find he had changed so drastically.

"This is fine," Daisuke said simply.

And so, the wise old man stood in the Nine-Pillar Statue and became known far and wide as The Resourceful General: Daisuke Suta.

---

After spending some time comforting Kugisaki and assuring her that he wouldn't eat her, she finally calmed down.

"Why are you wandering around in the snow?" he asked.

Kugisaki hesitated before eventually opening up. She told him about Saori, about the villagers, about everything. They sat together on a park bench as snow fell softly around them. Thanks to a gentle blue aura emitted by Daisuke, the cold never reached them.

He listened quietly, his expression unreadable.

So it's not the Curse that's ugly... It's the malice that festers in human hearts.

While it felt a little manipulative, Daisuke subtly used his technique to soothe Kugisaki's emotions and build trust. He told himself it was necessary to get information quickly.

---

"Would you like to become a Jujutsu sorcerer?" he asked after a long pause.

"I can teach you to use your powers, purify Cursed Spirits, and most importantly—leave this place for a completely different world."

Kugisaki didn't hesitate. The idea of leaving thrilled her.

"Yes! I want to leave this place!"

Daisuke stroked his chin thoughtfully.

If memory served, there had once been a small sorcerer clan in this village. They practiced a technique called Jujutsu Curse...

Could she be one of them?

No matter. I'll just kidnap her first—
