Consumed by rage, Geto Suguru charged headlong into the fray, a stampede of Cursed Spirits thundering behind him.
Amanojaku—the King of Curses—sneered, his razor-sharp claws extending. In the blink of an eye, he appeared before Geto, cold steel-like claws reaching for his abdomen to rip him open.
"Get back!"
A thunderous roar shattered the tension.
Amanojaku was violently hurled backward, skidding hundreds of meters through the battlefield. The shock of the bellow snapped Geto out of his blind fury. Looking across the carnage, his eyes landed on Gojo Satoru's broken body, and his blood froze.
But now, the real question was: how do they break the deadlock?
The battlefield fell into a tense silence. Amanojaku grew eerily human, a glint of twisted amusement flickering across his monstrous face. It looked like he was enjoying this massacre.
Fushiguro Shiji clenched his fists, the sound of cracking knuckles echoing. His gaze was like a glacier.
Suta Daisuke's brow twitched. His mind spun furiously, but he lacked critical data about his own team's techniques, making coordinated strategy impossible.
Gojumaki Sashi stood silent. He had only used his cursed technique twice, yet blood poured from his mouth and even fragments of his internal organs escaped. He was used to it. After all, vomiting blood daily was practically a family tradition in the Gojumaki clan.
Meanwhile, Kujuku Yuki debated whether to use Domain Expansion. In her case, it didn't amplify power much, only ensured a guaranteed hit. Her technique—Star Wrath—manipulated the mass and density of herself and her Shikigami, a cornerstone of her strength.
Like Gojo Satoru, Kujuku Yuki was deeply dependent on her innate cursed technique. If broken, she could handle most Special Grade enemies—but not one like Amanojaku. Against him, she'd be dead in an instant.
Was Domain Expansion enough to kill Amanojaku?
Her gut said no.
Theoretically, she could infinitely stack mass to create a black hole and destroy them both. But the risk? Catastrophic. It could wipe out the entire island of Japan.
Nearby, James—formerly Kamiya Seiichi—faced a similar dilemma.
Had he been alone, escape was viable. With time, he could return and end Amanojaku easily. After all, James had only been in the Jujutsu world for a little over a year. He was still growing.
But there was no room for regret.
The enemy was in front of him.
And it was time to fight.
James raised his sword. Azure flames curled along the blade, glowing with destruction incarnate. Amanojaku met his gaze. The creature felt the blade's power and dropped its amused expression, now eerily blank.
If it took a direct hit, it wouldn't end well.
James dashed forward, closing the distance in a heartbeat.
Buzz!
Amanojaku swung an arm, activating its reversal technique. James was about to be flung backward by the force when he slashed sideways with Amenakahoko in his left hand. The energy surrounding him dissipated.
You can only hold one reversal effect at a time.
Which meant Amanojaku couldn't stack multiple inversions!
James drew in a deep breath. Oxygen surged through his body as cursed energy boiled in his veins.
He kicked off the ground. The shockwave pulverized hundreds of meters of land.
He vanished.
"Thunder Breathing — Black Flash!"
James reappeared in front of Amanojaku, blade flashing toward him.
Amanojaku rolled away. James didn't try to follow through; he had never expected to land the hit.
This was all a feint.
Because someone else was already in position, full of fury and resolve.
A vortex of cursed energy burst forth—the Ultimate Uzumaki. A colossal shockwave erupted, illuminating the sky and shaking the heavens. Every obstacle was shattered.
Amanojaku, feeling danger, began forming hand seals to trigger his reversal.
"Certainly!"
Gojumaki Sashi vomited blood and roared the incantation!
Amanojaku froze in place.
From afar, Fushiguro Shiji's entire body tensed as he hurled the Soul-Devouring Sword with bone-crushing velocity. The sonic boom was deafening.
A Shikigami slithered and bound Amanojaku again. This time, Kujuku Yuki poured every drop of cursed power into her ritual.
Unlimited Mass. Infinite Density.
Every move was a finisher.
Amanojaku fought back fiercely, forcing its hands together into a final seal.
Domain Expansion...
Suddenly, a booming metallic sound echoed.
Nine gigantic iron doors fell from the sky like meteors, slamming down and piercing the earth—surrounding Amanojaku entirely.
The resulting explosion rocked the world.
A mushroom cloud soared into the air. The shockwave sent Jujutsu masters and Cursed Spirits tumbling like leaves in a storm.
A barrier dropped from the heavens—Kujuku Yuki acted fast, pulling the team into a protective field.
"It was born recently, and yet it already mastered Domain Expansion..."
Suta Daisuke fell silent.
Even the sharpest mind felt meaningless before such overwhelming power.
But without his quick thinking, no first-grade Jujutsu master could ever hope to defeat a Special Grade Cursed Spirit.
Inside the barrier, blood poured from all of Gojumaki's orifices. No matter how much Geto tried to stop the bleeding—it was useless. Even healing-type Cursed Spirits couldn't help.
"No, no, stay with me!" cried Fushiguro Shiji.
He tried to hold the blood in with his hands, but it found new paths to escape.
Gojumaki coughed up blood and tried to speak. Shiji leaned close to hear.
"I... I have a child... please... take care of..."
His words trailed off.
The light vanished from his eyes.
Silence.
Then—an eruption.
"GO TO HELL!!!"
Fushiguro Shiji slammed the ground, screaming as tears streamed down his face. He had just lost his best friend.
"WHY?!"
Geto Suguru collapsed in grief. Suta Daisuke closed his eyes, anguish etched into every line of his face.
James stood motionless, mind clouded.
Do I really have to follow these rules?
What is the purpose of this sword?
Do I want to see more of my comrades die?
He inhaled deeply. His eyes sharpened.
Then, he smiled.
He turned to Kujuku Yuki.
"Let this world be turned upside down."
From this moment forward, he would cast aside convention.
James pressed his palms together, gaze cold and calm.
"Domain Expansion—The Spirit and Billion Soul Avenue Realm."
Above the battlefield, in the endless sky, a titanic stone gate appeared, stretching from horizon to horizon.
Every being—Cursed Spirit and Jujutsu master alike—paused.
Souls within physical vessels all beheld the boundless world beyond that gate.
Snap. Snap.
Amanojaku's face twisted in panic.
Its Domain—shattered like glass.
James looked pleased.
"One attack. If you survive—then I fall."
He raised his sword. Faint flames danced across the blade.
"Hadō Ninety-Six — One Blade Cremation!"
