Chapter 68 - Chapter 68: Domain Expansion!!?

"Ha?"

Gojo Satoru's facial expression twisted in disbelief. He and Geto Suguru—both first-grade Jujutsu sorcerers and the most powerful team—were being challenged?

"Am I being underestimated?"

Geto narrowed his eyes, and a dangerous aura began to rise around him.

Of course, James wasn't underestimating them. Quite the opposite—he took them very seriously. But the truth was, their strength hadn't matured yet. Not completely. As for him...

An impressive panel, no doubt. This was what James had been focused on lately.

His new body was gifted with great potential, but breathing techniques required internal cultivation of Qi. It had taken time to help this body adapt. Fortunately, skills like swordsmanship and the Transparent World were ability-based rather than talent-based, and they adapted well to the rules of this universe.

That's why James valued knowledge and experience over innate talent. Talents varied between worlds—what worked in one might not work in another. But technique? Skill? They carried over.

Maybe someday his system would update to allow true cross-world traversal with the same body, but for now, this was how it had to be.

Thanks to Yamamoto's combat experience, his mastery in kendo had grown explosively. But he had yet to encounter a situation serious enough to warrant drawing his sword.

And while James had been thinking through all of this, the two across from him still hadn't moved.

"…If you're not coming, I'm leaving."

He turned calmly.

Gurgle!

Suddenly, a grotesque eye appeared under James' feet, and two misshapen hands lunged up, locking around his ankles. A Cursed Spirit's sneak attack.

James didn't panic. He simply raised his right foot and slammed it down hard.

BOOM!

The earth split from the impact, sending tremors through the ground and shaking nearby trees. Green blood splashed from the cracked surface as the Cursed Spirit was instantly crushed.

Terrifying power.

But it didn't stop there.

Behind Geto Suguru, a black rift opened. Several strange and deformed Cursed Spirits emerged from the void.

The technique had begun.

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!

Invisible steel beams materialized in the air and dropped like lightning!

James weaved and dodged effortlessly through the barrage, but the real trap was forming beneath him.

The beams drove deep into the ground, forming a massive iron cage with James at its center.

An advanced combination curse—multiple spirits synchronizing their techniques. Well-executed. Ordinary opponents would be overwhelmed.

But James wasn't ordinary.

He brought his palms together, forming a bladed hand sign, and slashed forward.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Blades of energy roared forward, slicing clean through the invisible pillars, carving a gash through the forest. Trees fell in a perfect line—their ends smooth as mirrors.

Wind howled.

"…Was that your technique?" Geto asked, eyes narrowed.

"No," came a gentle voice from behind him. "That was swordplay."

Geto froze. James was now standing behind him, calmly patting his shoulder.

When?!

He hadn't even sensed the movement. As the blade storm flew past, James had activated Shunpo and appeared behind him in the blink of an eye.

Geto's instincts flared.

"Rainbow Dragon!"

From the dark rift behind him, a massive dragon head burst out, maw wide open, lunging straight for James.

No time to dodge.

But who said he was going to dodge?

James raised his right hand.

BOOM!!!

The dragon's head slammed downward, only to be stopped cold. James had caught it, pinning it to the ground with one hand. The monster writhed and wailed, unable to move.

Geto was silent. His strategy had been to catch James off guard—but it hadn't worked.

Then—WHAM! A punch flew toward James' temple!

Geto had launched a straight strike with all his strength.

James tilted his head, easily dodging. Then he spun, driving his elbow into Geto's armpit.

Bang!

Geto staggered back, holding his arm. Pain shot through his body.

James raised an eyebrow. "Hmm. Unexpected. Your muscle strength and technique are impressive."

The battle escalated.

Wind rushed through the clearing. Blows were exchanged rapidly. Fists met fists, feet slammed into forearms. The sheer force of their strikes sent small shockwaves across the field.

But Geto was struggling.

His body ached. James' attacks weren't just strong—they were surgical. Every move struck a weak point. He never wasted motion.

"Almost…"

James landed another blow.

BAM!

Geto flew backward, crashing through several trees before skidding to a halt.

In that split second, another punch came from the side—aimed directly at James' temple.

Gojo Satoru had joined the fight.

He'd waited patiently while Geto fought alone—out of pride. But now he decided the match was over.

James turned.

CRACK!

Gojo's punch collided with James' open palm—but James didn't feel the impact directly.

He felt nothing.

"…Infinity?"

He narrowed his eyes.

This was Gojo Satoru's trademark—his Limitless Cursed Technique. It manipulated space, creating an infinite distance between him and his opponent. Attacks slowed infinitely as they approached him.

James kicked off the ground and retreated in a blur, putting some distance between them.

This technique… was a problem.

Limitless gave Gojo a wide range of abilities: gravity manipulation, teleportation, space-warping attacks.

And when combined with his Six Eyes…

It was the most broken ability in the Jujutsu world.

"…This is our first real fight, Gojo."

James wasn't rushing. He was chatting calmly, like nothing had happened.

"Yup!" Gojo grinned. "James, what do you think?"

"You're troublesome."

"True, true. My family's inherited technique isn't easy to deal with."

"And those eyes make it harder."

On the sidelines, Geto emerged from under a fallen tree and dusted himself off. Seeing the two chatting so casually enraged him.

He picked up two stones and threw them at them.

They both dodged without even turning.

"And yet," James continued, "it's not invincible."

"Oh?" Gojo raised an eyebrow. "So how would you deal with me? In close combat, I'm not like Geto. You can't touch me."

He pointed at himself, then at James.

"There are two options," James replied. "One—use a specialized Cursed Tool. With the right cursed energy properties, it can override or ignore Limitless."

"Sure. But you don't have one~"

Gojo's Six Eyes scanned him thoroughly. No cursed fluctuations. No tools.

"And the second method?"

Geto, still recovering nearby, tensed.

Gojo's smile wavered.

James raised his hands to his chest. His fingers wove into a strange, complex hand seal. His expression remained serene.

And then he spoke..

"Domain Expansion."
