Chapter 31 - Oke City...

Saquin stood frozen to the spot as the World Will's statement resounded in his head.

[ So, how does it feel to be the new master? ]

The World Will's teasing came through his frozen state.

"It feels exaggerated." Saquin stated and resumed his journey.

[ That's it? ]

"Yea."

[ Seriously, that's all? I expected more emotion, more doubt, more self righteousness, more ideal, more moral guilt. ]

"I can tell why you would expect more. But I don't just feel much of anything about it all." Saquin shrugged.

[ Well, you should. ]

"Well, I don't and I can't tell why. Probably because I really don't know why."

As Saquin talked with the World Will, he surveyed his surroundings.

The city up in front of him was a walled district of sky reaching buildings.

The outskirt he stood in though, was a land of death. There was not a strand of grass in the vast plain of brown soil which gave off the stench of pure rot.

"Why is this place like this? Is this the so called dead contamination?" Saquin posed a question for the World Will.

To his knowledge, the land was definitely not a normal sight to behold outside cities. He had been to his fair share of cities across the galaxy while he tagged along the captain as a commodity and this was the first time he was witnessing such.

The land fascinated him, and also gave him a soothing feeling at the same time.

[ I do not like as we are about to gloss over this slave to master topic, so, I will remind you later.

For your question, the answer is yes. This is the dead contamination brought about by the presence of the Zombiekind. ]

"So, the Zombiekinds are present in this planet?"

[ I don't think so. They should not be present, If they are, then it would be in low numbers. ]

"True, the Empowereds would not let a planet in the rural parts be contaminated." Saquin agreed.

"But, this dead contamination means they had once been present in this planet. In large numbers at that."

[ Definitely. ]

"An Unliving might have been here then."

[ Not likely, but possible. ]

"A Zombie King?"

[ Also not likely, but more possible. ]

"Noted, an Unliving is rarer than a revered Zombie King."

The conversation ended there as Saquin turned to his side to see Shalis fly down gently, and landed next to him.

"Master." She greeted.

"Hmm." Saquin acknowledged her greeting. Then, a thought occured to him. "Shalis, why don't you ditch the master. From now on, I would prefer another term that is less formal, and would not make all heads on the street turn to look at me."

"Oh, I see, master. You do not like being referred as that because of your young age." Shalis replied him.

"Where did you derive this head canon from?" Saquin could not help but ask.

"It isn't a head canon, master. It is a theory, with the highest probability of being true, that I thought of." Shalis answered.

"I hate to break it you, but that theory of yours is wrong. I don't just like the term master. It is too tacky." Saquin said as he thought of the most suitable term she could tag him as.

"I see... I have the perfect term for you. Think youngmaster." Shalis said with enthusiasm.

"Why would I choose that? There is no difference between that and master. You literally just added young as a prefix." Saquin disagreed immediately.

[ I think it is great. ]

"No, it is not." Saquin muttered under his breath.

[ Yes it is. You would be posing as a young master of a mysterious organization, having a strong servant by your side is normal.]

"I see the train of thought here, but I do not like it."

[ You do not have to like it. ]

"Tch." Saquin snickered. He returned his attention back to Shalis.

"Okay, I guess. You can call me Young Master." He said to her in a downcast tone.

"Noted, young master." Shalis beamed at Saquin.

Saquin rolled his eyes at her wide smile, his thoughts now back to his main goal for coming here. The city.

Looking at the behemoth from afar, he was at a loss.

"Should I just teleport in?" He muttered absentmindedly.

"That won't work young master. The Oke City is fully surrounded by both Senar and space disrupting devices." Shalis disagreed with him.

"But?" Saquin could tell she was not done with her statement.

"But, I can forcibly take you in young master." Shalis continued.

"Is there a proper way in?"

"Yea, through the various city gates."

"Then, let's use that instead."

"Okay, young master. I will lead the way." Shalis nodded. After which, she waved her hand gently in the air, to which Saquin became enveloped in a green bubble.

"Fascinating." Saquin complimented as he stared at the wall of the bubble.

Then.

He felt his surroundings blur.

Shalis had begun the journey to the city gate.

A few seconds later, they came to a stop. Shalis hovered high in the air, Saquin stood silently in the green bubble peering down at the broad road that fed into the city.

"This is the major Highway that connects the Oke City to the other city neighboring cities." Shalis introduced to Saquin.

"Hmm." Saquin nodded. "So, how do you propose we get in?"

"I don't know, young master. We can go in directly if I use force. Or, we can submit our Identification at the gate then wait for the decision of the immigration forces. We would also have to go through multiple test as per regulations. Wether we would be let in or not would depend on them." Shalis poured out her thoughts on the matter.

"Come on. Is getting into a city that hard? What is with the regulation and what not?" Saquin almost rolled his eyes. He was sure getting into a city was actually quite easy, but this city seem to be different in more than one way.

"It isn't hard to do so normally. But, this is a fortified city, so, the regulations would be high." Shalis explained.

"Okay then. Let's go." Saquin dropped the complaints as he Blinked out of the bubble to Shalis other side.

He reached out his hands and placed it on her shoulder.

Then.

Teleportation.

They both vanished from the spot.

Meanwhile.

On the Main Highway, in the Land Transport Vehicle, LTC, of a young blonde male, fortune visited as Saquin and Shalis appeared in the backseats.

"Hey." Saquin greeted, his eyes glued to the road in front.

"Ah!" The young blonde male experienced a jumpscare from Saquin sudden appearance.

"What the hell?" The vehicle spiralled into chaos as the young male almost crashed it.

"Who the hell are you?!" He collected himself quite quickly and creeped the vehicle to a stop. His head snapped towards the univited guest with a glare. Caution and fear evident in his fierce eyes.

"Me?" Saquin finally turned to look at the young male. "My name is Saquin."

"Young Master Saquin." Shalis corrected.

"Huh?" The young male flinched at the voice that came from behind.

"Who?" He turned gently and peeked through the small window into the vehicle's trunk. There, Shalis sat cross-legged, hovering mid air, amongst the various loads.

"My name is Shalis." Shalis answered. "To you, that would be Lord Shalis." Despite her words sounding arrogant, they came out with a neutral, almost friendly, tone.

"Lord Shalis." The young male did not argue and complied with her immediately.

In this world of Empowered, one cannot be too careful, especially with mysterious figures such as his two new guests.

One was a young male, with a wintery, silent feel to him. His get up was a casual attire but it still radiated more regal Aura than the mayor of his city. The other was an older but still young looking female, who made him feel so much pressure, that he felt she could kill him with but a look.

Arguing in this situation would be suicidal. Especially for someone like him without a noteworthy background or personal strength to speak of.

"To what do I owe this visit, Lord Shalis?" He asked.

"You are to speak to young master directly, he is the one calling the shots." Shalis replied amicably.

"Okay." The young male nodded. Turning to Saquin, he took a deep breath before he asked. "What do you ask of me, young master Saquin."

"First, Saquin is okay." Saquin started. "Second, you might want to move us off the center of the road, you are blocking traffic."

As soon as he heard what Saquin said, the young male attention finally left the interior of the vehicle and went back to the busy highway.

---

"Move the fuck outta the way..."

"Are you drunk?!!"

"What the hell!!!"

"This delivery driver!!!"

"No wonder my packages are always late!"

"Yea, the drivers are always drunk!"

---

He was immediately bombarded by the noise of passing drivers.
