Saquin sat still on a couch.
He stared at the mirror place in the sitting room of the mansion.
Looking at the boy reflected in the mirror, he could conclude much had not changed about him.
He still looked the same, had the same haircut, same dressing style.
But he knows, he was no longer the same person he was fifteen days ago.
He was now a free man. Someone who can interact with noblemen and even princes.
His pitch black eyes stared back at him through the mirror.
"Hey, handsome."
A smirk playes on his lips.
None of the other candidates would have believed that one of the Divine Level Talents was busy staring at his reflection in the mirror instead of making any preparation.
"I don't really understand my abilities." Saquin suddenly said. "Dead Cold should be the one that grants me ice related power."
He stretched out his black clad right hand.
The air surrounding his hand started grew frosty by the second.
Shua!
A black blade suddenly shot out from Saquin's hand. The [Black-Ink]. The [Black-Ink] blade had cut a blue streak through the air, courtesy of Saquin's ability.
"The ability also uses my body's energy just like the Cores. That would most likely change after I can use Senar."
Saquin mused.
"This ability is quite straightforward unlike the Assassin Rune ability. He was not sure what it was about."
[ Ability:
--> Assassin Rune(Unique Supreme) { human-based } -- Grants everything Assassin.
--> Dead Cold (Supreme) { Zombie-based } -- A dead body is cold. You are cold to both the touch and the environment.
--> Might (Unique) { Zombie-based} -- Your might is endless.
--> Regeneration (Unique) { Zombie-based} -- What spells the undead than they do not die easily. You shall be very hard to kill.
--> Unliving (Unique) { Zombie-based } -- You are an Unliving.
]
"Everything Assassin. That leaves a lot of questions to be asked"
Saquin contemplated.
"I do not think I would get anywhere with this. Sourcing for information here in this world is quite ineffective. Back at home, I can simply just use the cyberspace to check up things."
Saquin ran his hand through his hair.
"As for this Trial, I do not think I have to be careful anymore. I have more than enough strength to ensure my safety. Carefulness is thrown out of the window from now on."
"In the real Empowered world I can return to being careful and shit, but not here. Not anymore."
Saquin's gaze narrowed.
"Now, to figure out the details behind my new abilities."
Saquin stood up from the couch and headed outside.
Coming out of the No. 1 mansion, Saquin was met with a canopy of noise.
The whole base camp was in chaos.
Casel was in front of a crowd. She was doing her best to pacify them. Maggie and Flair stood behind her with disgusted expression.
'It seems they are all from the Prince Entourage party and are trying to get information about this Trial.'
Saquin thought to himself.
"Seems this Trial is a bigger deal than I thought."
Saquin noted as he saw the terrified expressions of the mob of people.
"Why bother?"
Saquin shrugged and looked away.
Just then.
Prince Greader came out of the No. 2 mansion.
Saquin discovered he could tell despite not seeing him with his eyes.
'Spatial Awareness'
He did not bother with the prince, who he was sure was one of the Participants. A pair of pure white wings sprout out of his back.
"Brother Saquin."
Saquin heard Greader's voice at his back, but he ignored it.
He flew into the air but did not leave immediately.
He turned to face Greader, who was now floating in the air, a disc shaped board was under his leg.
"Brother Saquin, I know you are confident in your strength." Greader started talking, ignoring the fact that Saquin had tried to leave despite hearing his call. "But, there is no way a single one of us five can match up against a Pinnacle-Class Grade One Underbeast with the supreme bloodline."
"So, are you saying I should stay so we fight the thing together?" Saquin tilted his head to the side.
"Yes. That is what I was implying." Greader nodded.
This was not the time to play games, the threat of a supreme bloodline beast is too much. A normal supreme bloodline beast equals a normal Pinnacle Level Talent strength of the same rank.
This specific beast was a full Grade above them, four ranks to be specific.
"So, what do you say?" Greader asked.
"Not interested." Saquin dismissed the question.
Greader frowned at the answer. What the hell was this Saquin thinking? Does he think he can match the beast alone or does he know something we don't? Wait, killing the beast is not the only option...
"Brother Saquin, you don't happen to know the location of the thing called Abomination, now do you?" Greader suddenly asked, a dangerous edge in his voice.
According to his connection, it is probably the only reason why a arrogant Divine Level Talent such as Saquin would decide to fight the Underbeast Boss.
"I do." Saquin nodded. His cold expression should no sign of wavering, despite Greader's hostility and the fact that Flair and Maggie were now hovering at his back, sealing off his escape route.
"You... do?" Greader was confused.
Why would Saquin easily admit to it? Is he seriously that arrogant that he felt he could escape the trio's combined force.
His gaze flickered downwards towards Casel and co. Only after seeing they were not in a position to interfere did he return his focus to Saquin.
"So? Is brother Saquin willing to share the location of the being?" Greader asked carefully. He still was not sure what this enigma in front of him was planning.
"Oh, yes. That is quite easy." Saquin smiled.
"Huh." Greader was surprised at how easy this was going. Is there a catch?
"Listen closely." Saquin started. "I don't just know where the Abomination is. I also know who he is... The Abomination is..."
Saquin paused. His smile widening.
"...Me."
"Huh?" Three voices carried the same content.
Woom!
Just then.
A blur cut through the sky.
Saquin.
The prince realized almost instantly. Too bad the small lag he had experienced was all Saquin needed.
He has closed in.
The [Starshine Blade] appeared in the prince's right hand and a small shield in his left hand. He pushed the shield outwards to intercept Saquin, his sword following behind it.
The prince was an experienced fighter, properly trained to be able to respond to sneak attacks. Saquin would be dreaming if he thought he could harm the prince that easily.
Unfortunately, Saquin was not dreaming as he was never targeting the prince himself.
His form dropped downwards, his wing-type Core showing its superiority in the air compared to transport-type Cores.
A black sword resembling a katana appeared in his hands.
Slice!
The [Black-Ink] sword cut straight through its target, prince Greader's transport Core.
Saquin's form went under the prince, cut his board, then went upwards again and delivered a kick towards the prince's head.
Bang!
There was a loud bang as Saquin's leg connected with the prince's shield.
The prince, who now lacked the support of a flying Core, shot downwards at a high speed.
Strong.
The thought resounded in the prince's head as he neared the ground.
Bam!
The sound of collision.
Saquin hovered in the air above the Base Camp, his gaze peered downwards.
There, the prince was supported by both Flair and Maggie who had worked together to save him from colliding with the ground.
Saquin gave the trio a jovial smile.
"That was fun."
Greader frowned. He started to reevaluate Saquin. It seems this person was not actually proud or arrogant. He really was not right up there.
"Oh, and I was not actually lying earlier. I am the Abomination you should be after."
Saquin said before giving a small laugh. He flapped his wings and flew off.
Greader watched silently as Saqun disappeared into the horizon.
"Your Highness, shouldn't we chase after him?" Maggie asked in confusion. She knew the Prince had more than one Flying Core.
"No, Maggie." Greader shook his head. "If you want to chase after a mad man, you would need ropes and a lot of people."
