Chapter 2 - Chapter Two

"Kristen, this is Melissa, my second wife."

He uttered these words, knowing full well that she might resent him, not just hate him. But he pretended inwardly that a major fight wouldn't happen now, even though he was absolutely certain that was what was about to happen.

His eyes drifted away from them to fall on the staircase decorated with flowers and candles on either side of the wall. This caused him to close his eyes tightly and clench his fist, regretting what was happening in his life.

"Uh-huh? What did I say? I didn't hear well?"

He turned his gaze to Kristen, who was rubbing her ears with her ring finger so intently that she thought there was something wrong with her ear that was making her hear strange or even untrue things.

But what the poor thing knew was that there was nothing wrong with her. What she was hearing from the lips of her longing husband and lover was real!

Jungkook swallowed hard to keep his oath from drying up for the millionth time in the five minutes he had stood there, terrified.

Is his heart trembling with fear? Yes, is it trembling just imagining what will happen now? Yes, it is!

Will her reaction not be calm? Of course, he's certain that it's impossible for her to listen to him or even offer a single justification!

He can't even justify it to her.

Instead, he's prepared himself well for the coming headache, cursing, and insults. If she ever gets to the point where he hits him, he's ready for all of it.

So what he did now was take three steps back, standing behind Melissa, who in turn advanced towards him with a provocative smile on her lips.

Her action made him feel so sorry for her. The girl has no idea what will happen to her now.

"Why, my God, don't I have Aladdin's lamp so I can quickly disappear before World War V starts?!" he muttered so quietly he could barely hear her, watching Melissa, who stood in front of Kristen with extreme arrogance, while the other folded her arms in complete indifference, trying to understand the farce taking place right here, in the middle of her own home."

"Didn't you hear what our husband, Jeon, said, my beautiful co-wife?"

What I'm about to say now is probably unbelievable, but Kristen left her without responding and went to the kitchen to make herself another cup of coffee.

This made Melissa feel angry at being ignored. She turned to Jungkook, who was slapping his cheeks, preparing himself for what was coming.

"Did you like this? You ignored me!" Melissa said with intense irritation, standing in front of Jungkook. He closed his eyes and looked at his first wife, who had put the coffee in the cup. Then he approached her and whispered softly, "Run like you're running from a gorilla."

She opened her mouth in surprise at his strange words, and she was shocked as soon as she left the house when she saw Kristen approaching them with a cup of coffee in her hand.

"You didn't tell me when you got married!?"

The poor thing smiled brightly and was about to answer her and tell her their story. But all he heard in this house was a scream.

Jungkook put his hands over his heart, crying regretfully over his youth that would be lost when his turn came.

"Damn it, it's starting!" I told her to run away, but it's okay. I'd sacrifice my precious life for her, but damn it, she'd kill me if I didn't save her! Damn me.

He was feeling extremely upset as he called his friend, whom he also cursed for taking so long to answer.

"Before I say anything, I'll find you in front of me in five minutes with a doctor."

He sighed, waiting for him because he definitely wouldn't be able to calm her down now and keep her from approaching the girl, so it's okay to let her vent her anger on her.

It's okay that he's a scumbag! Isn't it?

"You ill-mannered bastard, how could you allow yourself to marry someone who's already married!?" Haaa.

Inside, where Melissa's hair was nestled in Kristen's hands, one of them gripped her hair, the other slapped her cheek frantically, not to mention the sound of her screaming, which echoed throughout the house.

It also blended with Melissa's screams as she cried out for Jungkook's help, but we all knew he wouldn't come to save her now until his friend brought the doctor to ensure she didn't die quickly.

"You're definitely crazy. Get away from me."

Melissa grabbed Kristen's hand, which was gripping her hair, and with all her strength, pushed her away until she took several steps back.

"You damned b*tch, I swear I'll kill you."

That was Kristen's sentence before she pounced on her, knocking her to the ground with her on top of her, her nails digging into her face with all the hatred she held for that girl, disfiguring her cheek.

This only intensified the screams of Melissa, who was in intense pain, trying to push that psychopath away from her, who clearly wouldn't leave her until she killed her.

"How did you seduce him to marry you? Or rather, how could you lay your damned eyes on him?"

She, frantically, grabbed her head and slammed it against the ground with all the anger growing inside her, leaving her no chance to speak, and the other powerless, unable to push her away.

"Damn you."

She didn't move away from her until she felt that liquid dripping from her head, covering the white tiles with its red fluid.

Her feelings at that moment were so hideous that they made her want to get rid of that painful feeling burning her heart.

Her gaze was frozen, staring at the one who had lost consciousness without an ounce of pity in her eyes.

She deserved what she'd done to her... and she wasn't sorry, even if it meant killing her.

"Not to this extent, Kristen."

She looked up at the one who was staring at her with regret, the one who caused this feeling that was tearing her heart apart now, the one who had once feared for her more than his own sister.

Why did he have to do this to her? She was in so much pain that she couldn't express it, she was in pain from seeing him groaning in front of that girl.

The girl who stole her husband from her didn't even realize how she left the place downstairs and ended up in her room? Wait, it was their room, not just hers.

The moment she saw someone close to her wouldn't leave her mind! She felt like she would go crazy if she didn't vent her anger now.

She sat on the bed, putting her face in her hands, asking herself a hundred questions.

Why did he do this to her?

Why did he break her in such a filthy way?

Was he lying to her for his job? Was he deceiving her!?...

Or was he married without her knowledge?...

Is it because she's not Korean like that damned woman who would surely kill her?...

And damn it, if someone stops her from thinking, she'll go crazy!!...

A thousand questions swirled through her mind right now, wanting answers. She felt like her heart would burst out of its socket from the intensity of the pain tearing her apart.

With her brokenness and anger, she grabbed the vase on the table and threw it forcefully near the opened door, shattering the shards everywhere, some even reaching his feet.

He took a deep breath and exhaled, strangling himself as he entered. He locked the door tightly with the key so no one would dare enter, knowing this wouldn't be a normal discussion.

"My love..."

"Shut up. I don't want to hear a word from you."

She cut off his words, which he hadn't even finished, and the atmosphere between them had already become extremely tense.

She looked at the ground blankly, as he sat on the couch in front of the bed, rubbing his hands together.

"Just why, Jeon?"

She couldn't utter anything other than those words, which she had pulled out with great difficulty. Her grief prevented her from speaking as she wished. The tightness in her heart was hurting her deeply.

She was suffering psychologically, more than double the pain she had suffered the previous time. She felt as if someone were constantly stabbing her heart until her soul was ripped out in unbearable pain.

"What you're thinking isn't right, Kristen. I..."

He closed his eyes tightly, as did his hand, listening to her pained screams, utterly mortified, cursing himself repeatedly for what he had done.

"How do you know what I'm thinking?" Haaaa! What do you know about my pain now? What do you know about my regret? Nothing!!

Her gray eyes were filled with blood, a result of her desperately holding back the tears that wanted to fall.

She hated these moments of weakness. She hated crying in front of anyone, lest her pride be hurt.

So what if she was in front of the one who caused her this condition? Her husband, the one in whose arms she used to cry, now she hated crying in front of him.

She felt intense resentment and anger toward him. Sometimes she wanted to kill him so her heart would be comforted, and other times she tried to comprehend his actions, feeling that it was his right...

But he promised her!...

He moistened his lips with his tongue, rising calmly, his eyes never leaving hers. As much as she was in pain, he was in pain too.

"kris!"

He was about to put his hands on her arm, but she beat him to it and slammed both hands into his chest, pushing him away as she screamed sharply.

"You broke your promise to me, Jeon!! You betrayed my trust, and you betrayed me too!!!"

"That's not true, Kristen. I didn't do it."

"Did you do it, or did that damned Korean woman down there be a vase?"

Their discussion was heated. She wouldn't stop yelling at him, and he treated her calmly, not blaming her for her reaction.

He had no right to blame her at all.

"Uh-huh? Are you insulting me indirectly!?"

He whispered, pursing his lips to keep from laughing. The situation certainly didn't make him laugh, but he couldn't help but laugh.

Laughter mixed with tears, she stands in front of him, but at the same time, she's very far away from him.

He knows she's thinking he married her because she's Korean, which she isn't. She's an Arab girl far prettier than her.

"Are you in a position to laugh!? I'm burning here!! My insides are burning while you stand before me, cold-hearted."

"Is it to the point that I don't care about you anymore? You don't love me anymore?"

"Oh God, how broken I feel right now."

The hurt in her tone of voice was killing him before it killed her. The shock she'd experienced was still unbearable. Her breathing was irregular.

She was breathing with difficulty, barely able to feel the air in her lungs. Her throat was dry, and her dizziness was killing her.

Her hands were placed on her heart, the pain spreading throughout her body, making her feel tight.

"Why did you do this to me, Jeon?"

The grief and regret over her life, which, for her, had ended with him marrying her.

The screaming and crying and the lump in her throat prevented her from even breathing comfortably. She was slowly collapsing in front of him.

He didn't even know how he quickly grabbed her body before she fell harshly to the ground.

"No... no... this is bad, Kristen. I beg you, don't do this."

He carried her body anxiously, fear evident in his trembling body, feeling her arms as cold as the rest of her body.

He gently placed her on the bed, then leaned his upper body down and planted a long kiss on her forehead, her body temperature rising with each second.

"You've caught a cold fever again, my dear."
