It wasn't a condescending show of support. This young man was polite to him, but it was clear that Hail was even more polite.
Every detail added up to completely open their worldview. And in that final exchange, Hail was clearly more restrained even after drinking. This was someone that even he, Hail, couldn't afford to offend.
Hail's car left first. Luis stepped forward and said to the others, "Sorry, everyone. I can't see each of you off individually."
"No problem, no problem. We all have drivers. Don't worry, no drunk driving."
"Right, right. What we said tonight will be brought up in tomorrow morning's meeting..."
"Haha, Brother Luis, no need for formalities. Enough of that. You should hurry back inside and rest."
These guys left very quickly. As they left, not one of them dared to ask Luis for his phone number.
