Luis showed her a webpage on his iPad. "Just this year, Nova Media has filed at least fifty lawsuits."
"It's all the same old trick. They come in, paint this grand, lavish picture to get you to sign, then hand over a pitifully small signing bonus. If they sign a hundred people, just one of them gaining traction would cover their costs. The real profit comes from suing the other ninety-nine for breach of contract."
Seeing her on the verge of a complete emotional breakdown, Luis put on an act of ignorance and said with a laugh, "It's just the same old story, really. You're not a fool, Big Sister; you definitely wouldn't be tricked by something like that."
"But, Brother-in-law," Nancy asked, her voice trembling, on the brink of collapse, "if you're the defendant, the worst that should happen is you pay money. How does it become paying with your body?"
