Episode X: The Shocking USJ Incident
It was another beautiful day, the sun was shining, the birds were singing and everything was just A-Okay…Well most of them, as today a large pink looking humanoid was holding a family hostage. He laughed as Mt. Lady, Kamui Wood and another Hero were struggling to stop the villain from hurting the family.
"Hahaha! Don't try anything Heroes! Otherwise, this family will be in tomorrow's obituaries!" he mocked as he held the family in his bulgy arm.
"Damn this villain! There has to be something we can do!" Kamui Wood growled as he prepared to use his wood to try and restrain the villain. Until…
"HAHAHAHA! Never fear! Why?" Everyone suddenly heard a speeding object come, rushing behind the villain, and with one swift blow, knocked him out from behind and saved the family.
"For I happened to be passing by on my morning commute to work!" The crowd cheered as the Number One Hero stood tall and triumphant.
"I'm glad he helped us…but…" Mt. Lady said as she and Kamui Wood noticed the crowd swarming the Pro-Hero.
"He's going to put us out of work…" Kamui said as the officers arrested the villain.
"Thank you for your help, All Might!" the officer said, saluting the Pro-Hero.
"All in a day's work!" All Might saluted before he heard the sound of a car speeding out of control and he jumped away. But as he flew away he noticed something.
'...I'm getting slower…' he noticed as he wasn't as fast as he usually was.
'Since I passed One for All to Young Midoriya I knew I would start losing my power, but I'm surprised it's only just started now. Maybe it had something to do with the Spider that bit him, giving a delayed reaction between myself and Midoriya, a latent interference due to the unnatural origins of his Spider Powers? It's unsettling, but kind of a blessing as well. Whatever the case may be, all I know is that my time limit is going to get shorter and shorter if I keep pushing myself like this. Especially after the Sludge Incident, but luckily the Raid on Chisaki's hideout went far smoother than expected, even though he got away,' All Might thought to himself as he stopped the speeding car.
'Chisaki…he hasn't made a move on Young Eri yet, and we still don't even know why he wants her, or what she has that he wants. For the time being, we're just letting her be a normal child and having the family she has lacked for so long. He will come for her, but won't make a move so long as I'm around. This makes me worried that when my time does run out, he will come for her, and Midoriya will have to face him alone…' he suddenly heard of another problem as he dashed off.
'But Midoriya has proven to be a worthy vessel, and the Spider powers have given him much better control One for All than I expected. I have confidence that he will stop Kai Chisaki, protect his little sister and become the Hero I know he can become…' he smiled a little as he saved the day again.
'I just hope I get to live long enough to see the man he will become…'
12:50 PM - U.A. High School - Class 1-A
Aizawa stood before the classroom as he placed down the class's itinerary for the day. "Today's class will be a little different from usual. Instead of one teacher, you're going to have three supervising you today. Myself, another and All Might," Aizawa said as Izuku raised a brow.
"Ah, sir, does this have something to do with Kacchan and me?" he asked, as Bakugo grunted in annoyance.
"No, but due to the break-in yesterday, the Principal wants to take extra precautions. It's nothing to worry about, and having three Heroes from different aspects of the Heroics course might allow some insight for the upcoming event," Aizawa said as Izuku sighed in relief a little.
"Sir, what will we be doing today?" Sero asked as Aizawa held up a small card that read 'Rescue'.
"Today you'll be participating in a Rescue Training Exercise, to teach you all how to perform in Rescue Situations," he said as some of the class got excited about this…
Well, everyone except Bakugo.
'No combat, not interested,' he thought as he turned away from the class.
"Finally, I get to show how good I am in the water," Tsuyu said as she was looking forward to the water sections of the class. She looked over to Midoriya as he raised a brow.
"Yeah?" he asked as she placed a finger on her chin.
"...Can Spiders swim?" she asked as Izuku had to hold a chuckle as he nodded.
"Some species can, but I'll remember to bring my floaties," he joked, as she surprisingly gave a small chuckle.
"Cool your jets, I'm not done talking," Aizawa said as he pressed a button and the wall opened up to the Hero Costumes. "As I was saying, today we'll be doing Rescue exercises, but it will be up to you if you want to use your Gym Clothes or your Hero Costumes. Remember, some of you haven't fully gotten used to your Costumes yet, and you may find errors in your designs that will hamper you in the field. Take this as an opportunity to learn about what you can do to improve yourself as well as learn how to rescue others from natural disasters." Aizawa instructed as the class nodded.
Izuku smiled as he had been waiting for this moment. Reducing people, just like All Might. He couldn't help but get excited.
"Finally…I'm going to learn how to help people," he said to himself as he smiled.
"This training is at an off-campus facility, so once you've gotten changed, head down to the bus area and await further instructions," Aizawa said as everyone nodded.
Shortly afterwards Izuku and the rest of class 1-A stood near the bus stops, as they were all decked out in their respective Hero Costumes. All aside from Izuku as he had his Gym Uniform, with his Web-Shooters, Utility belt, elbow and knee pads and his white and red gloves.
"Deku?" Ochako said as she walked over to him. "Why are you wearing your Gym clothes, where's your Hero Costume?" she asked as Izuku gave her a chuckle.
"Yeah, I wonder, what happened to my costume? Hey, Kacchan you happen to know what happened to my costume, hmmm?" he asked with sarcasm in his voice, as said boy just grunted as he looked away. "But in all seriousness, you saw what happened to it, totally trashed. I had to bury dirt on what was left of it…a moment of silence for Costume Alpha…may his sacrifice be not in vain…" he said while holding his hands in prayer, an imaginary version of his Alpha costume giving a thumbs up appeared in his mind as it ascended into heaven….
"Oh uh…thank you, may you find peace?" Ochako said as she copied his gesture.
"So then, what are you going to do about a costume?" Iida asked as he took a moment from his representative duties to talk to his friends.
"I'm working with the Support Department to make a new costume. But it will take a while, so for today, it's just my Gym Clothes and a spare mask I had that I managed to upgrade yesterday," he said as he held up another black balaclava mask with the Ditko Brand Lenses before he pocketed the mask and Ochako raised a brow.
"You're working with the Support Department?" Ochako asked as he nodded.
"Yeah, don't ask me why, but I feel like I need to be a part of making my costume. Something about making my own identity, as well as making sure they know exactly what I need if I want to become a Hero," he explained as Iida and Ochako nodded.
"An admirable goal, once again I have underestimated your resolve to become a Hero, please forgive me!" he said with a bow.
"It's fine, man. You need to chill," Izuku said with a chuckle.
"So, the Support Department, what are they like?" Ochako asked as she was curious about the other department.
Izuku had to pause for a moment as the memory of Hatsume's bosom pressed against his body flooded back into his brain and he turned red.
"BEGONE THOTS!" he suddenly yelled and smashed his fist into his face.
"DEKU / MIDORIYA!?" Ochako and Iida yelled in shock. "Are you okay!?"
"I…I'm okay…just…needed to reset my brain…" he said as he swayed from side to side, his eyes looking in two different directions, a little bit of blood dripping from his nose and a fist-shaped mark on his face.
'...What are you a computer?' both of them thought, although Ochako was curious about the red blush a moment earlier. But that was put aside, as Aizawa had overheard the conversation.
"Midoriya," he said as Izuku shook his brain back to normal and turned to him. "I heard from Power Loader that you were going to work on your costume with them," he said as he walked up to him. "Admirable goal, but we have the departments separate for a reason, it makes things easier for the students, but ultimately it's your choice whether to work with them. Will you be able to balance your Hero studies and work on your costume?" he asked as Izuku nodded.
"I learned early on Sensei, that nothing in life is easy. But I should be able to handle it," he said as once again Midoriya had managed to impress the Pro-Hero.
"...Whatever you say, Midoriya. Just don't burn yourself out," he said as he walked back to the bus stop.
The buses soon arrived as Iida blew into a whistle. "All right everyone! To make this a smooth transition, please form two orderly lines based on your numbers and take seats from the back to the front of the bus!" Iida ordered as he blew into the whistle.
"Iida's going all out huh?" Izuku said as he and the rest of the class stared at him.
"Yep…hypothetically, Deku. How would you have organised this?" she asked as he shrugged.
"Not like this," he said as they got onto the bus…
Unfortunately, the bus's layout was open seated and completely threw Iida's seating plan out of whack. "Darn it! Foiled again!" Iida cursed as Mina patted his shoulder.
"You need to chill out," she said as most of the other students chuckled at him.
"If we're pointing out the obvious, there's something I've been meaning to ask. About you, Midoriya," Tsuyu said as Iuzku turned to her.
"Yeah Asui?"
"I told you to call me Tsu," she said but then focused on her question. "How exactly does your Quirk work? All Might said you have the abilities of a Human Spider, but that was kind of vague and we had to rush through the rest of the lesson. But you have powers that aren't typical of a usual Spider Quirk User, not to mention you don't seem to have any physical features that animal-based Quirk users like myself have. Why is that?" she asked as Izuku flinched a little.
'Man she's blunt!' he thought as he began to rely on the excuse he had practised for this moment.
"Well, my Quirk isn't exactly normal. Instead of growing things like Spider appendages or a thorax, I mostly gained the physical abilities of a Spider. Strength, climbing and agility are just part of it," he tried to explain.
"So you have the powers of a Spider, but none of the gross animal parts?" Mina asked before she sent an apology to Tsuyu who didn't mind.
"Exactly, think of me as being a human-sized spider, minus the physical aspects," he said.
"So wait, if you have the physical abilities of a Spider, then how can you make Webs? Because if I sort of remember biology class, Spiders make their Webs out of their…uh…" Kirishima tried to say without sounding gross.
"Out of their butts?" Izuku asked as Kirishima nodded.
"Well, luckily for me, I didn't get that part. But I wouldn't be much of a Spider if I couldn't make Webs of my own, so to compensate for that, I had to make these puppies," he said as he showed his Web-Shooters to the class. "It took me months to figure out the right compounds I needed to make the Web Formula and the components to make the Web-Shooters,"
"You made those yourself?" Momo asked as he nodded. "Impressive, you must be very smart to come up with them," she lightly praised as he shrugged.
"Sort of, but I just worked hard and tried everything I could to make it work. Because I believe that if you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything," he said as he got a few nods from his classmates.
"So manly!" Kirishima said as he felt inspired by Izuku's hard work.
"Plus they can do some cool tricks!" he said as he web shot a string, made it into a triangle between his fingers and swung a little web ball in between the hole. "See, it took me a month to get that down!" he said as he got a chuckle out of the class.
"I have a question! How are you able to turn invisible?" Toru shouted from the back seats. "My Quirk only affects me, and not my clothes, so how are you able to fully turn yourself invisible?" she asked.
"Not to mention, from what I heard, you managed to absorb my lightning attack," Kaminari asked after he had finally gotten the details about his fight with Midoriya in the Battle Trial.
"I kind of have a Theory about that, have any of you heard of the Van Der Waals Force?" he asked as he immediately got confused looks from the less smart students. Like Mina, Kaminari, Kirishima, Sato and Sero.
"I've heard about that, it's the attraction and repulsions between atoms, molecules, and surfaces, as well as other intermolecular forces. Scientists have theorised that Spiders manipulate this force using Electrostatic Energy and the tiny hair fibres on their bodies," Momo said as everyone stared at her.
"Uh…yeah, I think my body can manipulate the Van Der Waals Force as well, giving me a bit more of an electrical charge using the Bio-Electricity in my body. This is what I think allows me to bend the light around my body," he tried to explain. "Which might also explain why I was able to 'absorb' part of your lightning attack, Kaminari. Although it is just a theory and it still stung a bit," he admitted as smoke came out of Kaminari's head.
"Uh…I see…cool…" he said as he massaged his brain.
Bakugo on the other hand was listening in while making it seem like he wasn't interested as he grew annoyed about all these abilities Deku had.
"I also have a question," Tokoyami asked, "During the Battle Trial I noted that you seemed to be able to predict Bakugo's attack, how did you manage that?" he asked, as Izuku nodded and pointed to his head.
"That is due to a little something I call 'Spider Sense'; it's like an early warning system in my brain. I'm not a hundred percent sure how it works, but for some reason my body just 'senses' danger to myself and gives me a heads up about it," he said as Bakugo raised a brow at this.
'So that's how he knew I was coming…damn it…' he thought to himself.
"Geez man, super strength, agility, sensing danger and invisibility, you sound OP, I reckon you're going to make a big mark as a Pro with a Quirk like that!" Kirishima said as he held up his arm as it hardened. "All I can do is harden my body, not very flashy when you think about it?" he said as Izuku shook his head.
"No way, your powers are awesome too! You're pretty much a Spear and Shield Combo in one! Not to mention, given how hard you can become, you can rescue more people in more hazardous conditions!" he said as Krisihima chuckled a little.
"You think so? That's sweet man, but I still kind of wish I had a flashier Quirk," he said as he de-hardened his arm.
"My Naval Laser is a perfect combination of panache and strength, it is très magnifique~," Aoyama said with a confident smirk.
"But it doesn't help if you blow out your stomach, right?" Mina asked as Aoyama paled and sent a soft glare to the pink-skinned girl.
"But if we're talking Pro-Hero Quirks, then Bakugo and Todoroki would be at the top of the list. Explosion, plus Fire and Ice powers are both flashy and practical," Kirishima said as Bakugo grunted.
"Problem is Bakugo is always angry, so he'll never be popular," Tsuyu said as Bakugo gained a tick on his forehead.
"What did you say, Frog bitch!?" he yelled as she pointed at him.
"See what I mean?" she said, not even phased by his outburst. "Not to mention he showed how reckless he can be by putting his teammate in the line of fire back in the Battle Trial, not very Heroic," she said as Bakugo growled in anger.
"She's got a point man, we've only known you for almost a week now, and already we can tell you have the personality of crap mixed with flaming garbage," Kaminari said as Bakugo got angrier.
"Well, at least I don't end up useless when my Quirk short circuits my brain!" he yelled as Kaminari flinched at that.
"He does have a point, you need to work on that," Jiro said as she both leaned back from Bakugo, and chuckled at the memory of Kaminari's derp face.
"Hey not cool…" he moaned as Izuku found himself internally chuckling.
'This is hilarious, for once Bakugo is getting picked on…shame I can't enjoy it,' he thought as he knew what it was like to be picked on, and wouldn't want that on anyone. 'Even if it's Bakugo…' Izuku thought.
"Alright you kids, we're here!" the bus driver yelled out as he pulled. "Have a safe day," he said as everyone got off the bus, while Izuku blinked in surprise at the bus driver.
"Wait, weren't you the Janitor from yesterday?" he asked the elderly man with the vintage sunglasses who just smirked.
"I can have two jobs, now go out there and be a Hero, true believer!" he said as Izuku shrugged and walked out of the bus.
"What a weird, but very nice man…" he said as he and the others soon stood outside a large dome-like building. "Whoa…" Izuku said as he and the others looked upon the dome.
"Welcome everyone, I've been expecting you," a reverberating voice said, as everyone looked to see a Hero clad in what looked like a puffy space suit, with yellow sneakers, caps on the fingers and a black dome-like helmet with two white eyes.
"Whoa! It's the Space Hero: Thirteen! The chivalrous Pro-Hero that's saved people from Multiple Disasters across the world! So cool!" Izuku said in his Nerd Mode, as Ochako nodded her head excitedly.
"Thirteen is my favourite Hero!" she said as Thirteen gestured towards the building.
"Please follow me, I can't wait to show you what's inside," Thirteen said as she led the students inside the building.
The students soon walked in as they were presented with a large almost theme park-like interior, as multiple areas had different disasters. Somewhere simulated avalanche sections, others had areas completely flooded while others were contained in smaller domes with the words 'Fire' or 'Storm' painted on the side.
"Holy cow! It almost looks like the Universal Studios Japan Theme Park!" Kirishima said as Thirteen gestured to the park.
"Almost, I designed this Practical Training Facility to replicate some of the most common, yet dangerous disasters that you, young heroes, will have to encounter during your careers, I call it the Unforeseen Simulation Joint!" Thirteen explained, "Welcome to the U.S.J!" she said proudly.
'...So it is like Universal Studios Japan?' the entire class thought.
"Hey, where's All Might? I thought he was supposed to meet us here?" Aizawa asked as he walked up to Thirteen. "Don't tell me he booked an interview instead?"
"He did too much Hero Work on his way to school and used up his time, he's in the teacher's lounge resting up," she whispered to Aizawa as she held up three fingers.
Izuku immediately knew what that meant, All Might had used up his daily three hours and could no longer transform. He sighed a little at this, while he knew his teacher had a duty to protect innocent lives, he still had his responsibilities as a teacher.
Aizawa sighed as he shook his head. "That man is the pinnacle of irresponsibility," he complained. 'Oh well, we can manage with just the two of us,' he thought as he turned back to the class.
"Okay students before we begin I would like to say just one thing…or two…or three…or four…" Thirteen began before she trailed off.
'We get it!' the Class mentally thought, before Thirteen remembered her speech.
"Listen up everyone, I assume most of you are aware of my Quirk: Black Hole. It allows me to create black holes that can suck up anything and reduce it to dust," she said as the class nodded.
"Yeah, you've used that to save lots of people during multiple known events that have been reported ever since you graduated," Izuku said as he remembered all the news and articles about Thirteen and her use of her Quirk.
"True…but the thing is I can also just as easily use it to kill, the same goes for everyone here…" she said as everyone stared at her, "You must all realise that in our superhuman society, everyone is born with a potential Quirk that could be used for either great good or terrible evil. This is why we have to strictly regulate how Quirks can be used, to prevent them from being misused. Your powers can be deadly if you lose focus, even if you use them to help someone, which is why we try to teach you to control them here at U.A. From Aizawa, you learned the potential scale of your Quirks, from All Might you learned how dangerous your abilities can be against another person."
Izuku nodded at this as he remembered long ago when he busted a punching bag open. He knew that right now his power could easily kill another human being if he wasn't careful or lost control of his emotions. And that is even without the additional strength and speed of One For All.
"But here in my class, you will learn how to use your powers to help others in peril. You won't be using your powers to attack enemies on each other, only to help. After all, that is what being a Hero is about, helping others." she said as the class cheered, minus Bakugo and Todoroki. Izuku smiled as once again he felt truly blessed to be in the U.A. Academy…
That was until his head started pounding and his Spider-Sense went haywire.
"Gah!" he grunted out as he held his head.
"Midoriya?" Aizawa asked as he and the other turned to the boy holding his head. "What's wrong?" he asked.
"Deku?" Ochako asked as she grabbed his shoulder, while Izuku grunted.
"My head… it's like a JackHammer is rattling inside my brain…" he managed to say. "I-I think it's my Spider-Sense, but I don't see-!" he stopped when suddenly the lights above flickered and an electrical charge went through them. "What the?" he said before he felt his Spider-Sense drawing him to the courtyard as he and Aizawa noticed a black mist seeping into existence.
The black mist began to spread out as a lanky young man with a hand covering his face, walked out of the mist. He was soon followed by a myriad of other men and women, and an extremely large beak faced man, as they all appeared to have malicious intent seeping off them.
"Hey, who the heck are these guys? I thought this was a rescue exercise?" Kirishima asked before Izuku placed his arm in front of him.
"EVERYONE GET BACK!" Aizawa yelled as he stood before the students.
"Sensei?" Ochako asked, getting a little nervous, "Deku, what's going on?" she asked as Izuku pulled his mask over his head.
"My Spider-Sense is going nuts at these guys! If it's going off like this, it means that those aren't regular people…they're Villains!" he said as everyone's eyes widened at this, while Aizawa nodded.
"I'm afraid Midoriya is right, this isn't part of the training!" he said as the black mist then formed into a man of sorts as it looked upon the class.
"Eraser Head and Thirteen…I was sure that All Might was supposed to be here today, thanks to the teachers' curriculum we procured yesterday. Could they have changed the schedule?" the mist pondered as Aizawa glared.
"So it was you lot that was behind the break-in yesterday, figures," The Underground Hero said as he glared at the mob of Villains.
"Where is he? Where is All Might?" the lanky young man demanded as he creepily scratched his neck. "And we went through all the trouble of getting together with these friends just for him…the Symbol of Peace… can't believe he's not here…" he said he stared with a bored expression. He twisted his head to the side in a creepy manner as his red eyes stared directly at the students.
"Maybe he'll come if I kill some of these kids?" he asked as his voice sent shivers down their spines.
"What the heck!? How are so many villains able to get in here!?" Kirishima asked the question that was on everyone's mind.
"Thirteen, why aren't the alarms going off!?" Momo asked as Thirteen looked around.
"I don't know, the alarm should've gone off the moment they stepped in." Thirteen said as she looked around the dome.
"Is the entire campus under attack, or is this their only target?" Todoroki asked as he started to analyse the situation. "Either way, if the alarm sensors aren't going off, it means that either one of them must have a Quirk that's masking their presence or they somehow hacked the security system. They chose this isolated facility for a reason, at a time when a class was going to be held. They must have some sort of objective, but what?" he asked as the students looked fearful, aside from Izuku and Bakugo as they have dealt with villains before.
"Thirteen, take the students and get out of here! Try and warn the rest of the campus. Wait... but seeing as they managed to get around our sensors, they must've cut off our regular means of communication! Kaminari, try using your Quirk as well to contact U.A. I'll hold them off!" he ordered as he placed on his goggles and got ready to fight.
"But Sensei, there's too many of them! Your Quirk and combat style are more suited for stealth and single combat! You can't face them all alone!" Izuku said as the man smirked at him.
"I'll be fine, Midoriya. There's more to being a Hero than just having one trick," he assured the teen who nodded. "Thirteen, I'm counting on you!" he said as he rushed towards the Villains.
"Ha! Who the heck is that idiot!? I thought Thirteen and All Might were supposed to be here!?" one of the villains yelled.
"Who cares!? He's going to be swiss cheese in a minute! Gun Squad!'' The villains with gun-based Quirks aimed for Aizawa, only to find no bullets came out of their bodies.
"What the hell!?"
"Where are my bullets!?"
They didn't get a chance to figure it out as Aizawa's capture cloth wrapped around them and slammed them together headfirst, knocking them out in an instant.
"You idiots! That's Erasure Head! He can cancel your Quirk just by looking at you!" One of the villains that recognised Aizawa yelled as a man with four arms and rocky skin smirked as he charged at Aizawa.
"Bet you can't cancel Heteromorphic types like mine!?" he yelled, throwing his fists at the Pro-Hero, only to have the Hero dodged, and slammed his fist into his face.
"Of course not, only works on Emitters and Transformation Quirks, and lug-heads like you are only dangerous at close quarters!" he said as he dodged another Villain, wrapped the four-armed one up in his cloth, then used him as a weapon against three others. Knocking them out in an instant.
"Which is why I took measures for large groups like you…" he said as his hair went down again.
"hmm…Erasure Head…his hand to hand combat skills are top-notch, and with those goggles, it's hard to tell who's Quirk he's erasing, which makes working together difficult," the young man with the hands-on body surmised. "How annoying…it sucks when Pro-Heroes live up to the hype…" he said while scratching his neck.
Izuku looked on as he marvelled at the man's abilities, mentally taking notes on how he can incorporate Aizawa's fighting style into his own.
"Midoriya! We have to go now!" Iida yelled out as Izuku snapped back to reality.
"Right! We should get out of here and contact-" he was cut off as his Spider-Sense went off again, this time in the direction of the Entrance. "WAIT, EVERYONE GET BACK!" he yelled as the mist guy appeared before them, blocking off their escape.
"I'm afraid I can't let you leave," the mist said as it formed before the students and teacher.
'Damn it! I took my eyes off him for a second and the most dangerous one slipped past!' Aizawa cursed himself as he fought off the villains.
"Greetings Students of U.A…We are the League of Villains…we apologise for the rude interruption, but we felt we needed to enter U.A. to kill the 'Symbol of Peace, All Might" the mist said as Izuku's eyes widened.
'All Might!? They're here for All Might! That's why they're targeting our class! All Might was supposed to be here today!'
"I was led to believe he would be here today, but he's not…was there a last-minute change in the schedule? No matter, my role is simple…stopping you from warning the rest of the campus…"
Thirteen opened up one of her finger caps, ready to activate her Quirk when Bakugo and Kirishima jumped in front of her.
"Don't underestimate us! Shitty Villain!" Bakugo yelled as he let loose a powerful blast, while Kirishima punched the mist in the face.
"Did you think we'd let you run amuck in this place!?" Kirishima said as he stood next to Bakugo.
"No, you two! Get back!" Thirteen yelled as the mist reformed.
"Interesting…" he spoke as they backed up a little. "It seems that students live up to the expectations of U.A. Academy…in that case, I shall spread you out among this facility! And let our brothers in arms deal with you!"
The black mist spread out amongst the students as they were enveloped by the smoke. Iida managed to get Ochako and Sato out of the way, while Mezo managed to hold down Mina and Sero under his body. But the rest of the students were being enveloped as Izuku shot out his webs to try and hold himself to the ground, but the suction proved stronger as he was sucked away with Momo, Jiro and Kaminari.
Izuku found himself on rocky terrain, the mountain zone he waged, as he managed to roll and land in a battle stance. Already his Spider-Sense went off, as he dodged a Villain with blade-like arms and then kicked him across the face into other villains, followed by flipping backwards and landing in a spider pose.
"Too close!" he said before he dodged again, and punched another in the face. "Anyone teach you guys personal space!?" he quipped, as he continued his fight.
From the corner of his eye, he spotted Yaoyorozu, Jiro and Kaminari as Yaoyorozu created a pole for herself and a machete for Jiro as they were surrounded by the other villains.
"Midoriya! We could use some help! Stop quipping and come over here!" Yaoyorozu said as Izuku nodded and shot his webs to the stone walls, as he pulled himself towards them. His feet planted right into a villain's face as he flipped and kicked another in the head.
"Yaoyorozu! Jiro! Kaminari! You guys okay!?" he yelled as Yaoyorozu nodded.
"We're fine now, but I don't see anyone else!" she said as she looked around at all the villains. "That mist man must have some sort of 'Warping Quirk', and set all of us in different directions!" she surmised as Izuku nodded.
"Yeah, I figured as much! But if we're still in the USJ, then that means he must have sent the rest of the class around the other zones!" he said as he used his enhanced strength to fight off the villains.
"But why are they here!? What do they want with our class!?" Jiro asked as she held off the villains using her speakers to amplify her heartbeat and blast away some of the villains. Midoriya's mind went back to the Mist guy's declaration about Killing All Might and he knew why they were here.
"We can figure that out later, right now we need to deal with these guys and regroup at the entrance!" he said as she nodded.
"H-Hey hold up! We can't fight all these guys! In case you forgot Midoriya, I don't have a lot of combat use, and I still can't get a signal out to U.A. I can cover my body with electricity, but I can't fully control where my lightning goes if I try to shoot it out! I can't be of use here!" he said as Jiro rolled her eyes.
"You idiot! You're a living taser gun, or did you forget that part from the battle trial with Uraraka!?" she said and kicked him into a villain, who was stunned by his lightning.
"...Huh…I'm strong! Don't worry ladies, Midoriya and I got this!" he said with confidence as Jiro shook her head with a cringe.
Midoriya pulled a villain into the air, and punched him multiple times, before using his webs to slam him down to the ground. He then acrobatically avoided their attacks, and used his webs to hold them down, while also protecting Jiro and Yaoyorozu from other attacks.
"...I think Midoriya has got this more than you do," Jiro said as Izuku backflipped, kicked a man in the face, and then threw another into the wall.
"This is taking too long! We need to take all these guys out at once!" Izuku said. He knew he could fight these guys off, but not while also protecting the others.
"I've got an idea, Midoriya! Just give me a few more minutes!" Yaoyorozu said as she was concentrating, while holding off the villains.
"Okay!" he said as he web zipped into the enemy distracting her while making sure to web up any of the already fallen villains. He fired Impact Webs that stuck his enemies to the walls, while using his Web Lines almost like Aizawa did, as he used them to corral and throw the bad guys around.
"Okay! I'm ready!" Yaoyorozu said as a large blanket erupted from her back. "It takes a little longer to create objects this big! But this insulated sheet should work! Kaminari! Unleash all of your lightning!" she yelled as Kaminairi looked to Izuku who was too far from them dealing with the other villains.
"But Midoriya!"
"He'll be fine! Lightning doesn't seem to work on him, remember!?" Jiro yelled as Midoriya kicked another villain in the face.
"She's right! Do it!" he yelled as Kaminari smirked.
"Okay then! Take this! Indiscriminate Shock 1.3 Million Volts!" he yelled as a great blast of electrical energy blasted the whole mountain top and fried nearly everyone on the mountain.
Midoriya however, noticed that once again the lightning was acting strange around him, as any surge that came near him changed trajectory toward him and was absorbed into his body, but it also seemed to turn neon green once inside. Once the blast had settled, Midoriya stood up and shook off the electrical charge to his system, as he looked at all the villains as they lay stunned and out of commission.
"W-Well that takes care of them," he said to himself, still a little numb from the blast, as he looked down at his hand and the neon green electricity before it faded. "And there it goes again…what is going on with me?" he asked himself.
"Are you okay, Midoriya?" he heard Yaoyorozu say as he nodded without looking at them.
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine. The lightning didn't affect me as much as these guys, so I'm fine. Kaminari will be out of commission though, so we need to tread carefully going down the mountain - SWEET ALL MIGHT!" he suddenly yelled with his lenses going wide-eyed.
The reason being was that the front section of Yaoyorozu's costume had been ripped open when she had created the insulated sheet from her back, and her 'mountains' were in full view. Jiro looked just as shocked, while Yaoyorozu didn't seem to mind. Instantly Izuku snapped his head to the side to avoid looking at her.
"Midoriya, are you okay?" Yaoyorozu asked, wondering if the lightning had affected him.
"I'M GOOD! GREAT! NEVER BEEN BRE-PEACHY! I MEAN BOO- I MEAN FINE! J-J-JUST COVER YOURSELF UP!" He yelled as he avoided looking at her.
"What's got him all spooked?" she asked, as Jiro was blushing red, and a little envious, of the Vice Rep's… robustfigure.
"U-Um I think you should cover up as well, your costume is all wrecked!" she said as Yaoyorozu turned to her and smiled.
"It's fine, I can just make another costume," she said, while Izuku was once again 'purging' his hard drives with a fist to his face.
'Why is this happening again!? This never happened to me before! Stupid Spider! Did it also make me a magnet for boobs or something!' he mentally yelled to himself.
"...Whey~," Kaminari said as he wandered around aimlessly.
"Okay, all good now, Midoriya!" Jiro said as he sighed in relief when he saw Yaoyorozu having fixed her costume.
"Good, now we can focus on getting down the…" he suddenly stopped as his Spider-Sense went off and he slowly looked behind him while his lenses focused in like he was glaring.
"Midoriya?" Jiro asked before he sped past them, reared his fist back and slammed it into the ground before he pulled out a skull-faced villain.
"B-But, H-How?" he groaned out, as Izuku smirked under his mask.
"Let's just say, scum like you can't sneak up on me…" he said before he slammed his fist into his face and knocked him out, then webbed him and the rest of the unconscious villains up.
"Damn, that was a close one. Who would've thought one of them would be hiding underground? Thanks for that Midoriya," Jiro said as she tapped the man's head with her boot.
"No problem, but for now, let's focus on getting out of here. My Spider-Sense should warn us of danger, but it's important we get out of here now," he said as Yaoyorozu nodded.
"Agreed, but what about the others? we're safe for now. But there's no telling what kind of danger they're in…" she said as Izuku nodded and looked up to the tallest peak of the mountains.
"Wait here…" he said as he jumped up to the peak, and looked around the USJ, "Okay, let's see if the zoom-in upgrades I worked on yesterday do their thing…" he said as he tapped the side of his mask, and his lenses focused.
He looked around as he instantly spotted explosions coming from the collapse zone, so he knew where Bakugo was. There was ice forming at the Landslide Zone, so he knew where Todoroki was, and he could see there was activity happening around the boat in the shipwreck zone.
Zooming in he could see Tsuyu and Mineta as they were surrounded by villains in the water, but didn't appear to be attacking the boat yet.
"I can see some activities at the Collapse, Landslide, the Entrance, and Shipwreck Zones. Aizawa sensei is holding them off, but he's still outnumbered and I can see Mineta and Ausui at the Shipwreck Zone," he reported as Yaoyorozu nodded.
"Where do you suggest we should go?" Yaoyorozu asked.
"I think we should help Mineta and Asui, but I don't know about the other areas," Izuku replied upon realisation, "Jiro, can you listen to the students in the rest of this facility? Maybe we could get a better idea of where we are needed the most." Jiro nodded as she placed her earphone jacks into the ground and listened in.
"Okay…Koda and Tokoyami are in the Downpour Zone, but the rain there is making it hard to pinpoint them. And I think I hear Kirishima in the Fire Zone…it's strange…but I can't hear where Aoyama is?" she said as Izuku raised a brow.
"Do you think he's in the Downpour Zone with Fumikage and Koda?" he asked as she shrugged.
"Maybe, it is really loud in there, so it's possible he was sent further inward and is remaining hidden. In any case, it seems most of the Class is okay," she said as Izuku nodded.
"All right, we head to the Shipwreck Zone to help Asui and Mineta. I can get there faster, but dealing with underwater villains will be tricky…" he looked over to the brain-fried Kaminari. "Too bad Kaminari isn't available right now. We could just throw him into the water and electrify most of them, assuming the water is salty enough," he said before Momo got an idea.
"I might be able to make something that can help," she said as she started to pull her top open more, which caused Izuku to look away.
When Izuku looked back, he saw something that looked like a modified oversized speaker, "Can you carry it to the edge of the Shipwreck Zone?" She asked while breathing heavily.
"I see," Izuku said while examining the device, "You made an underwater speaker that Jiro can use to incapacitate the villains without risk of hurting Asui or Mineta. Soundwaves do travel faster and further underwater. And with Jiro's abilities, it should knock out the bad guys quickly. That is very clever, and I will only have to bring it and Jiro to a remote distance from the danger. While we help out Asui and Mineta, you can carry Kaminari to the entrance at a slow pace that would allow you both to recover by the time you regroup with the others." he summarised as she nodded.
"Yes, that is the idea. Do any of you have a snack to spare? My body is not used to multiple creations, and it could help me recover." she asked tiredly as he nodded and held out an energy bar.
"I usually keep stuff like this handy in case," he explained as she nodded in gratitude. "Jiro-san, how far can you stretch your Earphones?" he asked as she moved her earphones.
"Several metres, enough to get to the speaker at least," she said as Izuku nodded.
"Okay, Jiro I think the only way we can get there is if you hold onto my back, you're not afraid of heights, are you?" he asked as she shook her head.
"Nah, I should be fine," she said as he nodded and she grabbed onto his back, wrapping her arms around his neck. Izuku still felt nervous about having a girl on his back but pushed that aside for the task at hand.
He grabbed the modified speaker and bent down as he subtly channels One for All at 10% into his legs to increase his jump.
"Hang on!" he yelled as he jumped high into the air, already he could feel Jiro tighten her grip on his neck, as he fired a web line up to the ceiling and hung there for a moment. "You okay?" he asked as she nodded.
"Y-Yeah, just a little surprised is all," she said as she cautiously looked down. "I may have stretched the truth a bit about heights," she said as she held on tighter, a blush forming as she felt the muscles of his body.
"Sorry, but we need to focus on the task at hand…There, that slide, we can use that to set off the Speaker and stay on the rocks without being spotted. Hang on, we need to circle so they don't see us and go down the slide," he said as she nodded and he started swinging with one hand. Not entirely easy to do, but Izuku had practised well beforehand.
He and Jiro swung around the Dome as Jiro took a moment to peek from his neck and see the ground below her. She felt a mixture of fear and excitement at seeing everything so high up but knew she had to focus on saving her classmates.
They soon reached the top of the slide, as Izuku and Jiro looked down the slide. "Ready?" he asked as she nodded.
"Yep, not the first time I've been down a slide," she said as they both jumped into the slide.
It took everything they had to repress the urge to cry out in excitement, as they also had to dodge the rock placements inside. Nothing that Midoriya's Spider-Sense couldn't evade and a few well placed web shots. Izuku and Jiro soon made it to the end of the slide as they hid behind one of the rocks on the slide. They could see the ship not too far from them, and it looked like the Villains were growing impatient as they kept yelling at them.
"We don't have a lot of time, are you ready?" he asked as Jiro nodded and Izuku slowly let the speaker slide into the water. A strand of webbing guided it down the rest of the ramp,
The Speaker soon submerged into the water, as Jiro stretched her Earphone out and jacked into the speaker.
"Hope these guys brought their floaties, 'cause this one's going to send waves!" Jiro said as she focused her heartbeat through her jacks, amplified it to the nth degree and then blasted it through the underwater speaker.
Meanwhile, Tsuyu and Mineta were stuck on top of the cruise ship as they looked down at all the villains that had surrounded them.
"W-W-W-We're going to die! I can't believe this is happening! I never signed on for this!" Mineta screamed as he cried big tears from his eyes.
"Calm down Mineta, we just need to come up with a plan. Did you enrol at U.A. to become a Hero?" she asked, her face neutral about it, while Mineta continued to panic.
"SHUT UP! IT'S PERFECTLY NORMAL TO BE FREAKING OUT LIKE THIS! THIS IS WAY TOO MUCH FOR US! WE ONLY JUST GRADUATED FROM MIDDLE SCHOOL AND WE STARTED HERE LESS THAN A WEEK AGO! AND NOW SUDDENLY WE HAVE TO FIGHT FOR OUR LIVES!? THIS IS BULLSHIT! I NEVER WANTED THIS! I WANTED TO BE SUPER POPULAR AND GET ALL THE BABES! I NEVER EVEN GOT TO TOUCH YAOYOROZU'S BIG BOOBS BEFORE I DIED!" he screamed unembarrassed as Tsuyu shook her head.
"Why couldn't I get Midoriya or Todoroki?" she asked herself, as the Villains began to grow annoyed.
"That's it! I've had enough waiting! Time to cut these little heroes down to si-AHHHHHHHH!" Suddenly they started screaming as loud vibrations began to pulse through the water.
The sound travelled much faster underwater than it did in the air, Jiro's amplified Heartbeat + Water + Yaoyorozu's Modified Speaker = One hell of a sound blast.
"What the hell is-AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Some of them tried to scream before the vibrations became too much and they passed out, floating on the surface like a bunch of dead fish.
"...W-What the hell? Are they dead?" Mineta asked as he and Tsuyu looked at all the unconscious villains.
"No, but they're going to have one heck of a headache," they suddenly heard as Izuku and Jiro swung out towards them, Midooirya landing on the wall of the ship with Jiro's arms wrapped around his neck. "Hello, on behalf of U.A. Cruise Lines, we'd like to apologise for any inconveniences you've suffered and hope you travel with us again," Izuku quipped as he set Jiro down on the deck with the modified Speaker.
"Midoriya! Jiro!" Tsuyu and Mineta yelled as Mineta teared up and wrapped his arms around Jiro.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I don't even care if your boobs are too small or if you look like a guy! You are my hero!" he yelled as Jiro gained an enraged look and she jabbed her earphone jack into his head and shocked him.
"What the fuck did you just say about my boobs and looks!?" she yelled as he fell to the floor twitching.
"Are you okay, Asui?" Izuku asked as she nodded.
"I'm fine, thanks for coming to save us. Ribbit. And I told you to call me Tsu," she said as Izuku raised a brow under his mask.
"Really?" he asked as she nodded. "Okay, Tsu, glad to see you two are okay…" he looked down at the twitching Mineta. "Well…mostly okay," he said as she nodded.
"It's a good thing you came by, I don't think we would've been able to fight them off," she said as she looked around at the villains. "But how did you manage to take out all the Villains at once?" she asked as Izuku gestured to Jiro.
"Yaoyorozu made Jiro this special waterproof speaker that amplifies her Quirk," he said as he pointed at the speaker, "Sound travels faster in water, so we used that to knock them out. Even the ones that might be hiding under couldn't avoid it," he explained as Jiro held up one of her jacks.
"Yaoyorozu? Does that mean you were transported with her and Jiro together?" she asked as Izuku nodded.
"Kaminari as well, but we managed to deal with the villains in the Mountain area. They're safe right now and headed back to the Entrance. But we spotted you guys from up there and figured it was best to help you guys out, seeing as you didn't have a lot of combat-oriented Quirks with you. No offence!" he said apologetically.
"None taken. I'm fast underwater, but I doubt even I could've fought them all off by myself. And Mineta wasn't exactly in the right state of mind to help anyway. Ribbit." Tsuyu said as Mineta cried.
"Hey! I was scared alright! Sorry I don't have an awesome Quirk like you guys!" Mineta complained as he showed his 'Sticky Balls'. "The only thing these are good for is sticking to things and me bouncing off them! It's totally lame!" he complained as Izuku shook his head.
"No, actually that could be useful," he said as Mineta blinked. "My Webs won't work well in water, so I can't restrain these guys. But your Quirk can, if you can get these guys bunched up, then we can make sure they won't escape or assault us once they wake up. Can you do that?" he asked as Mineta suddenly felt a bit more confident.
"Of course! Leave it to me!" he said as started throwing his balls into the water and they began to clump up with the villains.
"While you guys deal with that, I'm going to go ahead and see if I can help out with others. Do you think you can make it to the shore without me?" he asked as Tsuyu and Jiro nodded.
"Don't worry about us, Midoriya, we can get back to the shore using the liferaft over there," she said as she pointed to the small life raft. "And if they wake up again I can blast them with the Speaker. But by then, the teachers should be here. Go help the others," Jiro reassured him as he nodded.
"Okay, stay safe," he said as he climbed back up, jumped up into the air and began to swing away to the Entrance.
"...You know, despite his plain face, he's actually pretty dependable, huh?" Tsuyu asked as Jiro nodded.
Izuku managed to swing over the courtyard as he saw the events unfold. He could see Aizawa was being overwhelmed by the villains but seemed to have it handled. While on the other end at the Entrance, Thirteen was caught within her Quirk and quickly taken down.
'Damn it! I won't be able to make it in time!' he thought as he swung towards them. But then his eyes were drawn back to the courtyard, as his Spider-Sense went highwire, and his lenses widened.
"Oh no…" he said and changed course.
Earlier at the Courtyard
Aizawa was doing his best to hold off the villains and keep his students safe. He didn't know what happened to those that got teleported, but he hoped they'd be able to defend themselves from these run of the mill wannabes. All he knew depended on what that cloud guy said was true.
'Focus on that later, right now I need to deal with these guys and then find my students. Hopefully one of them has managed to escape and gone back to warn the faculty,' Aizawa thought to himself as he continued his fight against the villains.
His attention was suddenly drawn to the man with hands all over his body as he started rushing him. "23 Seconds…" he said before he started getting in close, even as Aizawa threw his capture cloth at him. "20 Seconds… 17 Seconds…"
'What is going on about?' Aizawa thought before he got in close, going for an elbow to his gut, but by then his Quirk's limit reached and it deactivated.
"It was hard to figure out at first…" the man said as he caught Aizawa's elbow. "Especially when you're jumping around the place…But there are moments when your hair goes down…that's when your Quirk is no longer active…" he said as Aizawa suddenly felt pain in his elbow and the whole thing began to break apart.
"Don't bite off more than you can chew, Eraserhead!" the man said with a crazed voice before Aizawa managed to deck him across the face and free himself.
'Damn it! This guy is good! And whatever his Quirk is, it broke my elbow!' he thought to himself as he managed to jump back and avoid several more villains.
"You talk like a gamer," Aizawa said in an attempt to stall for his quirk to recover, "Are you the Raid Boss or something?"
The young man chuckled, "You could say that, but what is a Raid Boss…without his Tank?"
Aizawa barely had a second to see the big monster with the exposed brain positioning itself next to him. He tried to avoid the massive monster, only for its speed to be far superior to Aizawa's and it managed to grab his broken arm, the grip alone snapped his arm bone in half.
"Nomu…meet Aizawa, Aizawa…Meet Nomu: An Artificial Human created with enhanced strength with one purpose and one purpose only…to be the Final Boss and the essential 'Anti-All Might' to the self-righteous Symbol of Peace…," he said as Aizawa ground his teeth in pain as he tried to use his Quirk to erase the monsters. But nothing happened.
'This strength…it's not a Quirk… and it's damn near All Might's level!' Aizawa thought as Nomu tightened his grip and broke the man's arm further.
"I think this is 'Game Over' for you…" the man said as the bird-faced monster grabbed Aizawa and was prepared to unleash an ungodly amount of pain on the pro-hero…
Had it not been for a sudden glob of Web that shot right into the monster's eyes and blinded the behemoth. The muscle bond beast roared in anger, as the webs blinded its vision, and it let go of Aizawa's other broken arm. The Pro-Hero jumped back after having his broken arm freed from the beast's grip.
"FORE!" Izuku yelled as he swung in and planted both feet into Nomu's stomach. The speed of his swing + the momentum + Spider Enhanced Leg Strength + A burst of 15 % One for All was enough to throw Nomu clear of Aizawa and into a bunch of Villains. But to his surprise, the monster did not show any sign of pain or damage. But he wasn't going to take any chances as he fired multiple 'Impact Webs' at the beast and pinned it to the ground.
"WHAT!?" the young man yelled before a large glob of impact web smacked into him and pinned him to the wall closest to them. "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!?" he yelled as izuku landed next to Aizawa.
"Player Number 2, obviously!" he quipped before he looked over to Aizawa and grimaced. "Sensei! Oh geez, that looks bad! Are you okay!" Izuku said and looked over the man's broken arms.
"M-Midoriya? What are you doing here, what about the others?" he asked as held his broken arm.
"Long story short, I fought bad guys, defeated bad guys, and made sure my classmates were safe. I was going to head for the Entrance to help, but then my Spider-Sense went haywire at Big Bird there…" he pointed to Nomu who was still pinned to the ground with his Webs. "I don't know what the hell he is, but whatever he is, is dangerous," he said as Aizawa used part of his scarf to bind his broken arm.
"H-He's strength is too much, nearly broke my other arm had you not interfered…That said…Stay out of this…" Aizawa managed to say through the pain. "I told you not to do anything reckless or I'd expel you, now get out of here…" he ordered as Izuku shook his head.
"Sorry, Sensei, but once my body moves I can't stop it. And it looks to me like you need all the help you can get…" he said as Aizawa stared at the boy before grunting.
"...We will be talking about this later…" he said as he and Midoriya turned back to Nomu just as it slowly managed to rip the Web off its body and roared. The 'Hand Man' that seemed to be the boss of the Villains, also managed to disintegrate the webs, with a look of fury in his eyes as he glared at the masked teen.
"The guy with the hands can decay things, but what is up with this birdman? Is he just strong?" Izuku asked as he analysed the two of them.
He had heard the way the "Raid Boss" described the monster, and judging by its description and the sensation he felt when he kicked it, it must have had more than just strength. On the rare occasions Izuku used that much force, there was always a shockwave coming from him, but this time it was missing. No amount of strength could nearly nullify that shock damage; It must be some sort of shock absorption or density shifting.
"I don't know, it's not a Quirk, otherwise mine would've negated it. What he has is pure strength, almost the same as All Mights. That thing is too strong for either of us," Aizawa surmised as Izuku nodded.
'If it's as strong as All Might, then we're in serious trouble…I've got no choice but to use One for All to boost my strength…might even have to go to 20%,' Izuku thought to himself as he began to charge One for All.
'One for All…20%!' he mentally commanded as his body glowed with green lightning, and he felt his strength increase as he was prepared to fight until the mist guys suddenly appeared behind 'Handy's' as he turned to him.
"Shigaraki Tomura…" the black mist suddenly said as it reformed. "We have a problem, one of the students managed to slip past me…"
The hand guy, now known as Tomura stared at the mist man before he started to get real twitchy and started scratching his neck vigorously while groaning in annoyance.
"Kurogiri…you idiot…what good is a portal if he can't keep a few damn kids from getting away!" he yelled in anger. "Great…this was all for nothing, we can't take on All Might and the Entire U.A. Staff…yet…" Tomura analysed as he twitched in annoyance.
"We have no choice but to withdraw…but first…Nomu…crush that bug…" he ordered as Nomu growled through his teeth and flexed its muscles, before crushing the ground beneath its feet. Izuku's Spider-Sense went haywire at this, as his body took over and he managed to push Aiawa out of the way.
"Look out!" he yelled just as he leaned back from the fist. Which saved both of their lives, as the shockwave was so powerful it tore part of the ground up.
"Holy shit! That was close-YIP!" he managed to yell as Nomu flung another attack at him even faster than before. But this time Izuku managed to grab the fist, as his legs buckled from the force and he used all of his strength not to get flattened by the monster. The ground cracked under him as he used both hands to hold back the monster's insane strength. Izuku gasped as he felt the bones in his arms ache, and his legs nearly gave out from the blow.
"Gah!" Izuku said as Aizawa turned to him.
"Midoriya!" he yelled before he felt Tomura rush towards him with a mad gleam in his eye.
"We're not done yet, Eraserhead!" he yelled as he swiped at the man, hoping to decay him with his Quirk.
"Not going to happen!" he yelled as he was smart enough to avoid Tomura's hands. As he did the other villains charged at him, hoping to overwhelm the injured and exhausted pro-hero.
Meanwhile, Izuku was doing everything within his power to hold back Nomu as his muscles bulged from resisting the monster's strength.
"Jesus! What do you bench!?" Izuku managed to quip before his Spider-Sense went off again and Nomu's other first sailed for his head, had Izuku not managed to jump back as it decimated the ground where he stood. But the wind force managed to rip and crack open one of his lenses, as he glared at Nomu.
"Whoa! You are insanely strong!" Izuku yelled as Nomu removed its fist from the ground and roared at the Spider-Hero.
'Aizawa wasn't kidding, this thing is insanely strong! If it wasn't for the fact I'm using One for All I'd be a pancake! That being said, I can't afford to hold back!' he thought to himself as he jumped and dodged its attacks. He then tried to strike at Nomu's face as his fist charged with Spider Strength + One for All and delivered a strong blow, only for the creature to be unaffected by the blow.
"There it is again," he observed as Nomu swiped at him again, only to hit nothing but air, as Izuku jumped back from the blow.
'This thing seems to be taking anything I throw at him like it was nothing! He must have some sort of Quirk that allows him to absorb kinetic energy, but is it full nullification or just absorption?!' Izuku tried to rationalise as he barely dodged another combo from the monster.
He thought about webbing Shigaraki's hand to the creature's foot and swinging away with Aizawa, but both villains were too quick for him to perform that move correctly. And even if he could do that, fleeing now would bring the battle to the entrance, where most of his classmates should be by now. With that consideration in mind, Izuku was forced to keep dodging until help could arrive.
"Nomu!" Shigaraki ordered in frustration at the sight of Izuku dodging more and more attacks, "Go to the entrance and kill some kids!" If that green kid can dodge so well when he focuses on saving himself, then maybe he will slip by protecting others. Such a pitiful quality of the so-called heroes. Nomu roared in acknowledgement and turned to charge at the entrance.
"NO!" Izuku shouted as he flipped over Nomu's back and locked its hands in his while charging every muscle of his body with 20% of One For All.
The strength of the charging Nomu and the usage of his given Quirk were painful and strained the teen's body, but he kept pushing back as his feet dragged in the concrete leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. Nomu was already at the top staircase within seconds and was about to kill the students.
"I won't let you hurt them!" Izuku yelled as he continued to hold on while feeling the bones in his arms about to break. Nomu was still pushing forward as he got closer and closer to the others. He could feel the fear behind him as they were about to meet a painful and bloody end, and for a moment he saw the same scared look he saw on Eri's face long ago and a spark ignited in him.
"I said!" the green lightning that surged around him began to act strangely, as it started glowing brighter and more sporadic.
"I won't let you!" the insides of Izuku's arms began to glow as his nervous system illuminated through his skin and costume, growing brighter and more intense.
"HURT THEM!" he yelled as a loud whine, like a defibrillator charging, began to resonate out as Izuku threw his fist at the beast's face. The punch seemingly had no effect as it all seemed pointless…
Until Nomu felt its muscles lock as shocking pain went through its whole body from its face to its toes.
A large bolt of green lightning exploded all around Nomu, as it roared in absolute pain. The lightning singed and scarred its body, as its scream echoed far and wide across the USJ. the inside of the creature's nervous system could be seen glowing from how powerful the electric shock was to the creature. Then, like a ball out of a cannon, the Nomu was flung straight off the stairs as it soared high above the assembled villains before crashing back down in the centre of the large water fountain.
Aizawa, Shigaraki, several villains on the ground, and everyone at the entrance, saw green lightning manifest from the spider-themed student as the monster he was restraining lay there on the broken fountain with burn marks appearing on several spots on its black skin.
"...What the?" Aizawa said as he and everyone turned back to the top of the stairs as Izuku stood there, covered in green lightning.
"...Nomu?..." Tomura said as he snapped his gaze towards the top of the stairs, as Izuku struggled to stay on his feet, and he wobbled from the pain.
"...Is that…all you got?" he asked between breaths, as he slumped down to one knee. "Ow…that was a rib…" he managed to say, as he held his ribs tenderly.
"Deku! Are you okay!?" Uraraka asked as she wanted to get near him, but hesitated due to the lightning around him.
"I-I'm okay…" he tried to reassure her as he glared at Nomu as it twitched on the ground. He looked at his hands as they still glowed with green electricity and his nerves glowed through his skin. "Well…this is new…" he said to himself.
The Nomu tried to raise its hand, before it slumped down, as the green lightning still surged around its body. Its muscles were spazzing out of control as the entire creature was now unable to move even a finger.
"W-What the hell? what did that brat do to my Nomu!?" Tomura yelled, as Kurogiri stared at the creature, and controlled his mist towards the downed Nomu.
"Gah!" But when the mist got close to it, the green lightning sparked and hit the Kurogiri's mist and caused the disembodied henchmen to back off. The mist parts that touched the lightning were sporadic and drifting away from him, revealing a pale hand underneath his mist-covered form as his yellow eyes widened. "That lightning is not natural! I can't get close to Nomu, it's somehow able to destabilise part of my form!" Kurogiri said as his black mist slowly recovered.
Tomura's hand twitched with anger as a crazed look appeared in his eye, as he looked between his fallen Nomu and the brat that got in his way. His red eyes twitched with unbridled fury as he flexed his hands.
"You…" he said as he ran up the stairs towards the kid, "You cheated! Your strength shouldn't be enough to hurt Nomu!" he yelled as Izuku put himself between Ochako and Tomura as The villain was less than a few feet from him.
But just before he could get to him, the doors to the facility slammed open as everyone turned to the sight that brought hope to all, and fear to the treacherous.
"HAVE NO FEAR! WHY!? FOR I AM HERE!" All Might yelled as he stood before the villains.
"ALL MIGHT!?" Tomura yelled as he growled in anger, Kurogiri suddenly appeared and swarmed behind Tomura.
"Tomura, we've lost our main weapon, and we're currently outgunned! We have to leave!" he yelled as Tomura growled and allowed Kurogiri to warp around him.
"This isn't over, bug boy!" he yelled as he glared at the masked hero, whose green eyes could be seen through the broken lens of his mask, "I will make you pay!" he yelled before he disappeared.
"Wait!" the other villains yelled before Tomura and Kurogiri disappeared. "They left us! The bastards left us!"
"Yes, they did! And you know what that means!?" All Might said as he grinned at the cowering forms. "Now would be a very good time to surrender, don't you agree?" All Might demanded as he cracked his knuckles.
"...We surrender," they all said and held their hands up.
Shortly afterwards, the rest of the faculty arrived with the police and started rounding up the wannabe villains. Cementoss helps contain the downed Nomu, which had all but gone brain dead at this point without its master around to command it.
Izuku sighed a breath of relief as he slumped down on his ass. He stopped channelling One for All as the green lightning stopped surging around him.
"That…was a close one…" Izuku said as he looked up to All Might, "Took you long enough," he quipped a little as his Mentor nodded.
"I Apologise, Young Midoriya, I got a little caught up. But have no fear, the cavalry's here!" All Might said as the teachers started rounding up all the villains. "How about you, are you okay?" he asked as Izuku nodded but grunted in pain.
"Just a rib or two, I'll live…But I need to talk to you later, something…strange…happened and I need your advice," he secretly coded to his Mentor as the man nodded.
"Understood… Young Uraraka, please help Young Midoriya to the entrance, there should be a medical specialist that can help," He asked as Ochako nodded and helped him up.
"Are you okay, Deku? That was really brave of you," she said as Izuku shrugged his shoulders, painfully.
"Just…doing what I thought was right," he said as she smiled at him, feeling much safer.
"DAMN IT!" They suddenly heard Bakugo, Kirishima, Toru and Todoroki arrive at the scene. "THE FIGHTING IS OVER!? FUCK!" He yelled, angry that he didn't get a chance to fight more villains.
"Hey, chill, man. This is good, it means no one else will get hurt," Kirishima tried to calm him down.
"Shut it, Broomhead! Fuck!" he yelled kicking a stone away. "And who the heck took out bird face there?" he asked looking at the downed Nomu, as Cementoss restrained it with his concrete.
"That was thanks to Midoriya. We don't exactly know how but somehow he was able to hold that thing away from hurting any of the students and push it down the stairs before we arrived. He used some sort of 'Green Lightning' to render it immobile, it was…rather impressive," Mezo Shoji said as he and the other students began being escorted to the entrance.
"Huh!? Deku took out that thing!?" Bakugo yelled in both anger and disbelief as he looked at the downed Nomu. "...Tch! I could've taken that thing down!" he merely said as he stomped away from the others.
Todoroki meanwhile looked over to the Nomu as it lay on the ground, immobile and restrained by Cementoss's concrete. But looking over the creature, he noted that it was burnt by what looked like static discharge, something he was sure that Midoriya wasn't capable of. He had interrogated the villains in his sector to reveal their plan to take down All Might, and learned they had a 'creature' that was designed to match All Might at 100% of his strength. Yet if what the others were saying was true, it meant that Midoriya had somehow been able to best a creature designed to match All Might himself. He looked over to Midoriya as he was being looked over by the Medics and Recovery girl as he narrowed his heterochromia eyes on the teen.
"Midoriya…" he said as he gripped his fist.
It seems now that surpassing All Might will no longer be his only objective. He will have to surpass Midoriya too.
Outside of the USJ facility
The rest of the students were gathered near the ambulances and police officers and were detailing their events to the officers, while Deku was being checked over by the medical experts with Present Mic and Ochako standing beside him.
"Ow! Damn that stings," Izuku complained as he sat on a stretcher, while the Medic dabbed the cut under his eye from when his lens broke.
"We should keep it from getting infected, so sorry in advance for the pain," she said as she dabbed the rubbing alcohol to his cut, while another was checking his broken bones.
"You have some broken ribs and stress fracturing to your arms and legs," one of the Medics said using her 'X-Ray' Quirk. "You'll need proper medical attention, one I've been informed that U.A. can provide," she said as Present Mic nodded.
"Don't you threaten, little listener! Once Recovery girl gets a hold of you, you'll be good as new! Yeah!" he yelled. He said as everyone had to flinch back at his loud voice.
"Glad he wasn't using his Quirk," Izuku muttered as Present Mic walked over to the police, while Ochako stood next to Izuku.
"Deku, Are you going to be okay?" Ochako asked as she noticed Izuku's pain, as the Spider hero nodded and he held his ribs as he rotated his right arm.
"I will be fine. Remember what I told you back at the Entrance Exam? I have a healing factor, so combine that with Recovery Girl's quirk, I should be fine." he said as Ochako stared at him.
"Did… Did you know that you could pull off that lightning thing that took down that monster?" she asked as he shrugged his shoulders nervously.
"Well…not really…no…To be honest, I didn't know I could do that until I did it. Honestly, I was hoping to block its next attack and then-"
"Deku! That was incredibly reckless! You could've been killed!" she suddenly yelled at him, startling the boy as he blinked.
"Whoa! Geez, I'm sorry, but I didn't have much choice! That thing was going to hurt everyone and I had to stop it, otherwise, you'd all have been killed!" he tried to argue but the girl continued her intense glare.
"But you could've died!" she yelled in his face.
"I have a healing factor! It doesn't matter what happens to me, I can bounce back from it!"
"But not from everything!" she yelled, "Everyone has a limit to their Quirks! Whose to say that thing wouldn't have exceeded yours!?" she argued as Izuku held his lips tight at that. "Didn't you also say that you have a sister and a mother?" She continued, "How would they have felt if you died today? I have seen enough families losing their loved ones at construction sites to know what it feels like, and I don't want your family to lose you!"
"You've never even met them-"
"I don't need to meet them to know that they love you!" she yelled straight in his face, as the young Hero looked away.
Izuku glared back at her, "I am not apologising for saving you." he said as she puffed her cheeks and crossed her arms. "...But…" he sighed as he looked at her. "I guess I can see your point…" he said as rubbed a hand through his messy hair. "I'm sorry I made you worry…I'll…I'll try and be more careful next time…" he said as she loosened her glare and nodded.
"Okay…" she said as she pushed him back down on the gurney. "Now lie still and let the Doctors do what they do," she said as Izuku nodded. She didn't seem to know how to land that line delivery, but Izuku didn't care as long as he knew she cared.
Mina watched the whole exchange from afar as an inner desire to pair the two of them began to manifest inside her.
"I smell a ship~," she said to herself as Jiro shook her head.
"I can hear what they are saying, and I can tell you that they better solve that baggage first if they want to get serious," Jiro said as her ear jacks pointed at the pair. Meanwhile, All Might, who was back to his skinny form and out of sight, was with Detective Tsukauchi as they looked over the heavily detained Nomu.
"This…this is not good…" Yagi said as he looked over the creature, "This thing was supposed to be designed to match me at my full strength," he said as Tsukauchi nodded.
"That's what we've gathered so far. And judging from the damage it caused so far, we're lucky no one got killed. It's a good thing that Midoriya was able to render it immobile, otherwise, we'd be using body bags instead of paramedics," Tsukauchi said as the beast lay still, almost as if it was dead had its chest not been moving. "I was unaware he could stun his opponents."
"So was I…I will have to talk to him about it, but It seems that One For All may have given his Quirk abilities that neither of us had before. Could it be an effect of his Quirk's unnatural origins, or is there another factor we aren't seeing?" All Might asked himself as he looked over the creature.
"We'll find out more once we get a good look at this thing, for now, I think it's best you get some rest, All Might. You've had a busy day," Tsukauchi advised as the Number One Hero nodded while still staring at Nomu as a dark thought swirled in his head.
'This handy work…could it be?'
Meanwhile - Kamino Ward - Abandoned Bar
A swirling black portal emerged within a deserted bar as Tomura walked out of the portal, a pissed off look on his face as he tore his mask off his face and slammed it on the counter.
"Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! That damn bug! He had to ruin everything!" Tomura yelled as his grip disintegrated a barstool into dust.
"Tomura, please remain calm. We cannot afford you destroying our hideout," Kurogiri said as he reformed in an elegant looking suit with a metal brace around his neck."This was not what we had expected, but there's no reason for you to throw a tantrum," he spoke as Tomura snapped his gaze to the living mist.
"Shut it! That insect totally cheated! All Might would've been minced meat if he hadn't pulled out that cheat code! You should've let me-!"
"That's enough, Tomura…" a dark and menacing voice suddenly spoke from the monitor as both of them turned their gaze to the screen. "Now, calmly explain what happened. I can already guess you were defeated, but that is not the reason for your anger…tell me…what has made you so upset?"
"Your damn Nomu wasn't strong enough! He lost so easily and the Heroes beat us!"
"Well, I was merely optimistic that All Might had gotten Weaker, and that Nomu could've-"
"But that's just it, Sensei! Nomu wasn't even beaten by All Might! He was beaten by a damn kid!" Tomura seethed in rage.
"Impossible!" A second voice spoke from the monitor as the first went silent. "There's no way that Nomu could've been beaten by a student! I had designed it to be more than enough for any of the school faculty!"
"I'm afraid Tomura speaks the truth, one of the students possessed a Quirk we were not prepared for. It somehow managed to immobilise Nomu, causing him to basically shut down."
"Then why didn't you retrieve it!?" The second voice asked, "If you had managed to bring back the subject I could ascertain the cause behind this unforeseen anomaly!"
"The problem was for some reason I couldn't get close to Nomu. Whatever that student had done to Nomu was also able to affect me as well. The Green Lightning this student-created somehow Destabilise my corporeal form, if I had stayed any closer to it I fear my body would've become too unstable to maintain," Kurogiri explained as the monitor went silent for a moment.
"...Green Lightning you say?" the first voice spoke up, as the screen went silent.
"Sensei?" Tomura asked as the monitor's sound only screen stared back at him.
"It is nothing, Tomura. Today has been disappointing, but not without its merit." 'Sensei' said as the second voice hummed in agreement.
"I agree, The League of Villains' name is disposable at best, they have no idea of our true intentions. We'll simply gather new members, more efficiently and better prepared for our next phase."
"And you've gained some valuable experience from this, Tomura: Never underestimate your opponents, and always have a backup plan," Sensei advised as Tomura nodded. "As for this 'Student' that was able to defeat Nomu…we shall plan accordingly…especially if he has gained what I believe he's gained…this will be most interesting," the voice at the other end grinned as he eyeless face smiled at the newest development.
Tomura nodded as the screen shut off and his mind burned with anger at the 'Bug' that had managed to ruin his game. He was going to make him pay, count on it…
