Chapter 33 - A love to fragile to hold

Of course, it wasn't your typical fantasy teacher.

He was more like a high-level magic professor at that point.

He smirked, looking at them, disguising it. He approached, unrushed.

He coughed, closing his eyes. "What are you guys doing?Class is about to start."

They felt embarrassed. She covered her face, leaning onto his chest. He didn't turn around. "Sorry, we will go back as fast as we can."

He reached for her hands and held them tight. They clasped their hands, and both of them blushed, looking just like fresh strawberries.

They opened the door. Holding each other as a proposed, promising future husband and wife, they walked boldly, leaning onto each other's hand.

Almost everyone was silently cursing. Some blessing, and others admiring.

They walked to her place, and next to her was this nerdy girl with glasses. He offered her, "Mind changing my place? Mine is in front, too."

The girl with glasses responded, "Yes! I always dreamed of your place. Thank you for letting me have it."

He faintly smiled at her, showing his politeness. The girl stood up, packing her papers and notebooks. She ran to his place as if a cannonball had been fired for the first time, bumping here and there.

Finally, Eira and Vernon got to sit next to each other. And it was at the corner of the back.

The teacher walked in, greeting everyone. He looked at them. Surprised about the sudden change in places,he asked, "May I ask your reason? Why did you change your place, Hazen Vernon?"

Vernon just looked at him with zero reaction. "Because I wanted to. There is no harm in changing my place."

The teacher had already heard about what happened in the hall, thanks to the principal.

"Okay. But next time you change your place, inform me. The rest of you are to stay in your place."

Everyone was amused… "Ohh,come on, Teach…" "Why?" "Huuuu…" "Haaaa…"

One of the top students asked, "Sir, may I ask for only one thing? Can I change my place? I just want to leap four seats in the same row."

The teacher knocked on the board. "Over my dead body."

He was sitting in the first row.

That's how this burning love lasted more than months. Gradually, he introduced her to his family. He took her on dates at night, with blankets and so much more.

Well… Being in her comfort zone left her a bit unguarded.

The more and more she shined, the brighter she became, the more she drew her shadow back to her. The more famous she got,the easier it was for her to get caught by that bastard son of a b*tch, Father Athos.

The next day, after three months of relationships.

He knocked on the door. Eira was confused about who it was this late. She wasn't the type to cry over such a fuss. She opened the door, asking who it was, though she ended up speechless. She fell on the ground, her legs shivering. It was her—and mine as well—our nightmare. "At last,I found you, Eira, my angel…"

Her uncle shouted, "Who is it, Eira?" He was in the kitchen while his wife was at the neighbor's house.

"It's no one… I mean, I wanna go out, that's all."

"Be careful of who you are."

"Okay, Uncle!"

She said to him, "What are you doing here?" fearlessly.

"I won't make it long. Get back to the church and leave anyone who is acquainted with you heartbroken. We don't want anyone roaming around to find you."

Then he walked away. He didn't want a reply nor anything else.

The next day, She waited for him to arrive around his house. He came back from running in the mountains.

Upon seeing her, he got excited, and when he approached her to hug her, she pushed him away.

She ended up being brave after all. She was convinced that it was better to end up heartbroken and lonely than to drag anyone into her mess. "Listen, Vernon, let's break up." He felt his blood fill his entire body. He was burning; his skin was turning red, too.

"Why? Why? Tell me what's wrong! I will do it for you, Eira! Please don't leave me alone! Please don't."

Her eyes dropped tears as she ran away. "I—I'm sorry."

She left him alone, breaking up with him.

Memories of her highlighted in my head. It felt as if I lived her life.

His scythe had been emitting waving mana, which led to her bursting her emotional trauma throughout the mana.

It truly has been years. Yet, this love still tastes fresh.

Looking at her memories made me wonder… What am I planning to do? I can live as Jane and continue my life as an ordinary student.

But will that even work when I'm wanted by many? Indeed. Why do I need revenge? But it's not always easy forgetting revenges that must be executed no matter the cost. Besides, these two people are soulmates.

Not to mention, they were fully human to begin with… And I'm not sure how laughable such a miserable reality is.

I forgot I got exams. By now, they should already be preparing in the senior's building.

Such a shame. I'm not into it, of course, but that's not it.

Father Athos stands right next to me, watching them hug.

The principal stood watching them, too. I started to feel like it's a movie we are watching. Why ain't anyone moving? "This déjà vu moment," he remembered when he saw them kiss for the first time.

Vernon's eyes shone with loneliness, filled with tears… He hugged her, clinging as hard as he can. I have never seen him emotional like this in my entire life.

As that happens, I turned around. The principal looked at me. "Hey, where do you think you're going?"

I looked back, glancing at him with one side of my eye. "Well, to the written exam."

While we chatted, in the blink of an eye, Father Athos was gone.

I knew he was going to try something crazy.

He will blow the whole building up!!
