Chapter 2 - CHAPTER 1 - INTRODUCTION

Let's start our story with a young man who really, really hates mornings. The alarm clock blared for a full five minutes before he grudgingly threw off his blanket. Still groggy, he checked his phone. "Oh crap, I'm late!" he exclaimed, leaping out of bed and sprinting to the bathroom. After a lightning-fast shower, he managed to get ready in 30 minutes. Downstairs, his best friend was already waiting on his bike. They'd met at work a year ago and had quickly become inseparable.

But don't get too attached to this guy or his friend. They're important, sure, but not the stars of our story. No, this tale belongs to a young woman who is about to shake up their lives—and the life of yet another young man. So let's put Mr. Not-Quite-Handsome on hold for a bit.

Now, picture this: a beautiful young woman in her twenties, sprawled on a couch, half-watching TV and munching on snacks. Her phone buzzes with messages from friends, but she's not paying much attention. Why? Because her eyes are puffy and dark-circled from crying—she's been through a terrible breakup and hasn't slept well in days. Poor thing has even lost some weight.

Suddenly, her phone pings with a new notification: "Appointment Letter." She glances at it without much enthusiasm. It's a job offer she applied for months ago, thanks to a friend's referral. She reads the email, still feeling numb. "I start next Monday, huh? Well, I need a distraction," she mutters, tossing her phone aside. Staring at the ceiling, she dreads the thought of running into her college best friend at the new job. "I hope that stupid friend of mine won't laugh at me for my breakup," she muses. But as she texts her friend, "Idiot, I got the job you referred me to. See you next week," a tiny smile tugs at her lips.

Meanwhile, let's meet another young man, cruising on his bike through scenic hill roads, capturing the stunning mountains and waterfalls on his phone. He's enjoying the tranquility when a notification pops up: "Appointment Letter." With a s mile, he reads it. "Wow, I actually got the job! And I start soon!" he thinks, clearing the message. Not in any rush, he continues to savor the beautiful surroundings.
