After a short conversation, First and I ran. Even after a long race, we did not lose hope until we saw the detour. We turned right, instead of left.
Our plan was to disregard—but not fully the map directions. We reverse the directions given.
L, R, R, L, R will be R, L, L, R, L
Right = Left, Left = Right
My suspicion is correct; not one of the walls moved. First and I ran and turned right, nothing happened. In our second experiment on how to stop the walls from moving, as we ran into the third turn, I shouted.
"Guys! Are you there, hey?" This is for whoever is close by. We will explain the technique for preventing the walls from moving until we meet all together.
First started shouting, too. "Is anyone there? This is First speaking. Let us know if anyone from the silver team can hear us!"
"Bro, have you heard anything?" I heard someone's voice! It was gibberish, but I can understand.
"I don't know. Might've been your conscience."
"Guys, it's us! Where are you?" I shouted to whoever they were.
"It wasn't my conscience, dumbass. It's Second!"
"Hey, Second, is that really you? Don't scare us!"
It's Fifth and Seventh! Others have also split up. I could hear their voices getting louder, meaning they were approaching.
"Yes, it's me. Let's not waste any more time. We already know how to stop the walls from moving!"
"How?!" they chorused.
"Right, left, left, right, left. That's our turn pattern. You run and look for the turns. As you run, you shout and call the rest of the team members and inform them about the technique. Run, fast!"
"Roger!"
"Aight!"
After informing them, First and I continued shouting as we ran until we took the 5th turn.
We are both tired and struggling. We should not give up. Even if I were separated from them, my mind and heart would not be separated from them.
First and I finished the turn, and we were stranded in a fairly wide terrain where there was no longer a maze and its walls. It looks like we're in the finish area, not a finish line. In front, there is a large wooden door, the handle of which is rusty. I thought that it might be here that the two mazes of the two teams merged. A few seconds lat,er Fourth and Aeith ran towards us and attacked me with a tight hug.
"Second!" Fourth sobbed.
"T'was a hellish moving wall!" Aeith rushed and hugged me. "Damn, Second, I thought we'll lose you!" Aeith hysterically exclaimed as she caught her breath.
I smiled at them.
After a few minutes of interrogating what happened to them, everyone assembled in the finish area, and we are now complete.
"Whooo! Seriously, I'm scared of who was talking. I thought I had my conscience whispering at me, but then it's just Second!" Seventh still has his uplifting spirit after the tiring stuff we did.
"Thank you, Second, your suggestion helped." I feel relieved at what Sixth said.
"Good job, everyone." Third greeted us. He's the last one to arrive.
"But how did you find out?" Fifth pondered.
"What we did earlier to follow the directions given on the map, the walls moved as if they were contradicting the wrong direction we took. In our first experiment with moving walls, the left-wing and right-wing parts of the maze were exchanged. If the left walls change to the right walls and vice versa, we may need to reverse the directions, left = right and right = left. That's why the walls move if the path we chose is wrong. It's as if they are heading in our direction. The walls are the ones who adjust and stop us from turning in the wrong directions."
"Good point. Why don't we proceed with the treasure?" Third initiated.
Third touched the rusty door handle, which wasn't a doorknob, just a handle. Our eyes widened a little when we read something on the door. Because it was dusty, it had writing on it that was probably written by a finger. Just what you see in the dusty car window where kids write something on it with their index finger.
WHAT'S THE PASSWORD?
This is what's written on it.
"Dracodile! That's the password!" Seventh declared.
And since we could think of no other answer, Third wrote it on the dusty door with his right index finger.
DRACODILE
After a few seconds, it opened automatically. I felt relieved that the answer to the riddles was correct. We all entered, and then the door closed again. What's this? I rolled my eyes, and this one was not a maze. There are three cubicles made of bricks and blocks similar to the walls of the maze. We are still in an open area. The cubicles divide the four directions we can go. I don't know what these are for.
"There's a jar at the center," Fifth pointed to something, and we approached the jar he was talking about.
It's a big, dark brown jar. The one that looks old-fashioned or traditional from ancient times. It is as high as a person's foot to knee, about 1 foot.
"Let's open it!" Seventh urged that it made Third take hold of the lid of the jar to open it.
