The phone rang. Riki opened his eyes slightly. It seemed like it was already noon. Who was calling?
Reluctantly, Riki rolled over and sat up. His hand automatically reached for his smartphone to see whose name was on the screen.
Riki immediately answered the phone.
"Hello, Evan? Hmm—what? What flowers? Oh—what did you say? Okay, see you later."
Riki remained silent after the call ended.
Evan said that all the rose seeds he planted were growing well. In fact, they were growing too well.
In less than a month, all the seeds had turned into adolescent-sized plants, some of which even had buds. Evan said he pruned all the roses that morning. He also said that sales at the shop had improved, even increasing by five percent from previous sales.
