Polo rushed towards Gray and Ace so fast that only his silhouette could be seen. But to Gray, Polo was fast, but not fast enough that he could not see his movements. Still slower than Ace in his Feather Body state.
"Let's split up!"
They split up, Gray charging at Polo head-on and Ace circling around, looking for a perfect moment to attack.
The distance between Gray and Polo closes, and since Polo had a longer reach, his attack came first.
Polo scratched with his nails, now a few inches tall, forward, making a sharp sound in the air.
Gray stopped in his tracks and took a step back to avoid the attack. Polo, however, attacked with his other claws, but Gray was still able to dodge. Polo may be fast, but with Gray's enhanced brain, he can somewhat react.
Polo kept on attacking Gray, while Gray just kept on dodging. Although Gray was able to dodge, he can't find an opportunity to attack. He was pressured by Polo's relentless attacks and long arms.
Ace, who was staying silent the whole time, found an opportunity to attack. Just as Polo was about to deliver another attack to Gray, Ace suddenly appeared behind him and delivered a punch of his own.
However, as if he had eyes on the back of his head, Polo was able to sense Ace and quickly turned around, kicking Ace in the waist.
Ace's fist did not connect. Instead, he got hit in the waist, causing him to wince in pain. Even when he increased his weight, he was still thrown several meters away.
Gray, seeing that Polo turned around, now found the chance to attack. He kicked Polo's other leg, which was still in the ground. With Polo's other leg still in the air, he would surely lose his balance. However, just when Gray's foot was about to hit Polo's leg, Polo suddenly jumped using his toe.
He then spun midair and attacked Gray with his claws. Taken by surprise, Gray was only able to move his head backward slightly. The tip of Polo's nails scratched Gray's right cheek, causing blood to drip.
Gray jumped back, putting some distance between him and Polo. He wiped the blood on his cheek with his fingers and looked at Polo, his expression grim.
"You kids are quite strong. I'll give you that."
Polo smiled, showing off his fangs. He would have looked very handsome if not for his transformation, which made him look intimidating instead.
Ace was a few meters away from Polo's right side, with Gray in front of him.
"Time to get serious."
Polo's expression stayed the same, but something about his aura seems to have changed. If he only looked intimidating before, now he gives off the vibe of a predator.
Polo crouched slightly, looking ready to pounce at any moment. Suddenly, he charged towards Ace. He is faster than before, his steps light and quick.
Before Ace could even react, Polo was already before him, attacking him with his claw-like nails, aiming for his neck.
Fortunately, Ace was able to avoid the fatal injury by moving his body slightly but got his shoulder hit instead.
"Ace!"
Ace winced in pain, blood flowing down his torso. Polo was about to follow up with another attack, but Ace quickly jumped backwards.
Polo quickly chased after Ace but slowed down to dodge an incoming rock about the size of a fist thrown at him.
Because of this, Gray was able to catch up to Polo and threw a punch in his nape. Polo ducked slightly and spun around to face Gray, stretching out his arm while doing so, intending to tear open Gray's face.
Gray blocked Polo's attack with his arm, successfully stopping it, and then threw a punch at Polo's face.
Polo, caught by surprise that Gray managed to stop his attack, was hit in the face.
Polo looked at Gray with surprise in his eyes. He could not believe that a kid managed to land a hit on him.
There is one thing that Gray realized after Polo landed an attack on Ace. It was that Polo's strength relies on his speed and nails, not on his physical strength. With Gray's arm strength amplified tenfold, he can actually match Polo's strength, if not slightly overpower him.
However, he cannot match Polo's speed, though, and while he could still react to Polo's attacks, so could Polo. Polos have incredible senses. He does not need to look to know that an attack is coming.
By now, Ace had already stabilized himself. However, his face was frowning hard from the pain.
The fight went on for a few minutes, with neither side showing signs of gaining the upper hand.
Gray was growing tired, since he was the one facing Polo head-on, while Ace looked for an opportunity to strike.
Wound after wound accumulated on their bodies, draining their strength every second, more so with Gray. He got many cuts on his arms and torso and a puncture on his abdomen, causing blood to continuously drip, covering his body.
Ace is currently at a distance, watching anxiously, waiting for the chance that Polo might slip up.
This won't do; we can't go on any longer, especially Gray. We can't defeat him in this state. I need to enter the Feather Body state! I don't know if I can keep it up for just a minute, though. Ahh, never mind, now or never!
Ace suddenly disappeared from his position. Polo was surprised but recovered quickly. He already figured out why and how Ace disappeared.
Seeing this, Gray knew what to do. He threw a punch straight to Polo's stomach using the hand he used to block Polo's attack earlier.
Just like before, Polo managed to dodge the attack. His body's nimbleness is on another level. He curved his body, forming a letter 'C,' which is impossible for normal humans.
He then kicked Gray in the face while dodging, catching Gray off guard. Gray was hit, but he stabilized himself almost instantly. He then threw a seemingly useless punch straight towards Polo's face.
Smirking, Polo was about to say something when suddenly, an attack hit his nape, a very sensitive part. A sharp pain traveled through his body, causing him to momentarily freeze.
Somehow, without detection, Ace was able to arrive at Polo's back and hit him.
Because of this, Gray's seemingly simple punch managed to hit its mark, straight to Polo's face.
"Twenty-ton Punch!"
Another attack hit Polo in the head, this time, many times heavier than earlier. Polo's mind went blank.
However, Ace was not finished. He threw punch after punch until all strength left his body.
Now, Polo was lying on the ground, barely breathing. Smoke came out from his body, and he slowly went back to normal.
Gray and Ace looked at each other, feeling relieved. They both smiled and fell down at the same time, consciousness leaving their bodies.
