"What's Classroom 9 3/4…"

Asakura muttered as he arrived at the old school building.

Since the new school building had taken over the functions of the old one, this area had become a dedicated club building, with many club rooms assigned to the old school building.

The old school building, excluding the rooftop, had a total of four floors.

When viewed from above, it formed a shape similar to '冂', with exactly nine classrooms on each floor.

Asakura walked to the end and saw Classroom 9, which was used as a storage room, but this was clearly not the Magic Book's reward.

However, behind Classroom 9 was only a narrow broom closet.

Asakura tried to twist the doorknob of the broom closet, only to find it locked.

He tried to emulate "Harry Potter" by walking directly through the doorframe between Classroom 9 and the broom closet, but instead, he crashed directly into the wall.

"That's not right?"

Asakura stroked his chin, then suddenly, inspiration struck him, and he stood before the doorframe, softly saying, "[Chiba Magic Society]."

The next moment, a black dot appeared on the wall in front of him, and then the black dot rapidly expanded.

To Asakura's astonishment, a magical Clubroom with a distinct Miyazaki-esque style abruptly materialized in the hallway.

It looked as if a peculiar art wall had been embedded into the otherwise ordinary school hallway wall, incredibly eye-catching.

Asakura subconsciously looked at the adjacent hallway.

As a club building, although Classroom 9 was in a relatively secluded spot, it was only two classrooms away from the stairs.

It was just after school, the peak time for students to head to club activities, and students often passed by this area from upstairs and downstairs.

However, even when students walked by, they seemed completely oblivious to the magical Clubroom in front of Asakura, which was vastly different in style from the entire school building (or rather, from modern architecture).

It even seemed as though Asakura himself was ignored by them.

Asakura nodded: "Although it's very unscientific, it's quite magical."

Then he pushed the door open and entered the Clubroom.

The interior of the house was not too large, roughly the size of a classroom, but both the floor and the walls seemed to be made of wood.

Although there were no windows, glowing fungi on the doorframe served as a light source, making the entire interior appear quite bright and transparent.

And whether it was Asakura's imagination or not, he always felt that the air inside the Clubroom was purer and fresher than outside, like a natural oxygen bar.

If he hadn't seen it emerge from the wall of the school hallway with his own eyes, Asakura would have thought it was a treehouse.

The room was empty, with nothing but a somewhat old-looking sofa, a dusty fireplace, and a large cauldron of the kind an old witch in a fairy tale would always be stirring.

Does this mean he has to furnish it from scratch?

Asakura scratched his head.

The Magic Book in his mind provided feedback as he entered the Clubroom.

[Chiba Magic Society Clubroom]

[Mysterious Trait: Cognitive Obscurity (Muggles cannot perceive the existence of the Connection Clubroom; even if recorded or photographed by technological devices, Muggles will subconsciously ignore the Connection Clubroom in the footage)]

[Keeper: Asakura Takuma (As the Keeper, you can reveal the existence of the Connection Clubroom to others.

Additionally, you can set a password for entering the Connection Clubroom; no creature can enter the Association Clubroom without your permission)]

"By recruiting new Connection members, the Connection Clubroom's level can be increased."

"Clubroom Level: 1 (1/3)"

"Note: 'The use of a fireplace? Of course, it's for establishing a Floo Powder network! What? What does a gas stove mean? What does an induction cooker mean? Do people not welcome Santa Claus anymore?'"

"Simply put, it's an extra secret base, right?"

Asakura stroked his chin, feeling surprisingly good: although it couldn't compare to drills and thunder, a secret base was undoubtedly a man's romance!

Moreover, he had obtained many miscellaneous magical tools from the Magic Book system.

Because he didn't have a general-purpose cheat like storage space, they were either in cabinets at home or stuffed into his backpack.

Although to others, most of them looked like cosplay props, it would still feel bad if they were accidentally lost or taken by someone.

Now, he finally had a place to store them.

Furthermore, from the 'Secret Keeper' entry, if he didn't allow it, not even mosquitoes or proliferating G could invade the Clubroom, which was simply fantastic.

He summoned the translucent Magic Book—this was the system's manifestation, and similarly, no one else could see it besides him.

As the nominal 'task' system, there was always a permanent task on the Magic Book; after completing one, the next would appear.

Although there wasn't a clear time limit, sometimes if a task was left undone for too long, it would automatically 'expire' and disappear, turning into a new task.

Since there were no penalties, occasionally when Asakura encountered tasks he didn't want to do or couldn't do, he would leave them alone and wait for the task to automatically refresh.

At this moment, the task list on it had also been updated.

"Task: Find the Cat."

Asakura: "?"

What kind of task is this?

The Magic Book projected a map of the area into his mind.

From the flashing light spot on it, the cat marked as the task target seemed to be not far from Soubu High School.

If it were a pure needle-in-a-haystack search without clues, Asakura naturally wouldn't bother, but with a map to rely on, catching a cat didn't seem too difficult.

At least it was much simpler than tasks like "Eliminate Ghosts," which he currently couldn't do at all.

So, Asakura casually put his backpack in the Clubroom and quickly followed the direction indicated on the system map, moving towards the task target.

—Two hours later—

As the saying goes, 'running a horse to death by looking at a mountain.' Although Asakura didn't have a horse now, he had to admit that he had underestimated this task.

The cat marked by the system was indeed not far from Soubu High School, but clearly, cats are not creatures that stay still in one place.

Aside from sleeping and sunbathing, cats always move around, patrolling their territory.

And the cat marked by the system was clearly neither sleeping nor sunbathing now.

Its pace seemed quite fast; whenever Asakura hadn't even reached its vicinity, it had already moved to the next location through various small paths that humans couldn't traverse.

"Maybe I should just give up…"

Like a police officer who is always one step behind in a yakuza film, Asakura, having lost his target again, panted and muttered.

Considering that cats would also party at midnight, making them even harder to catch, he couldn't help but consider retreating.

Just then, Asakura's peripheral vision caught something.

He slowly approached, squatted down, and picked up a ball of black… probably cat fur?

Of course, that wasn't the main point.

The main point was that when Asakura gently rubbed the cat fur, a faint red appeared on his fingers.

That cat, was it injured?
