Chapter 1 - mochi starting

Chapter 1: A Mochi Beginning

The scent of fried fish still clung to Kai's fingers as he sat cross-legged in his worn tent, the last comforting vestige of a life that was about to vanish. A blinding white flash erupted, swallowing everything. When the light receded, the familiar canvas was gone. In its place stood a dense, towering forest, the grass a vibrant green that reached his waist. The air, thick with an unfamiliar humidity, smelled of damp earth and exotic, unseen blossoms.

"Is this a dream?" he mumbled, rubbing his eyes until they ached. He pinched his arm, hard, and winced. No dream. Just an impossible reality.

A crisp 'Ding!' chimed, echoing in the sudden silence.

"System found a time traveler," a flat, mechanical voice announced. "System activation. Ding! Activation complete. Random Lottery System activated."

Kai, who'd been teetering on the edge of panic, felt a strange jolt of hope. A system? Like the ones in novels he used to read? He'd been transported, then. But to what world? He silently pleaded for an answer, but none came. Survival was paramount now. "Any novice gifts?" he asked, his voice a little hoarse.

"Ding! System already gave you three random lottery draws."

"What can I get?"

"Ding!" the system replied. "Host can get items, template cards, and attribute cards. Prizes are drawn from various worlds, offering unique techniques and skills."

The sheer variety made Kai's heart pound. "Use lottery!" he practically shouted.

A colossal, transparent wheel materialized, glowing faintly. Inside, images flickered rapidly: weapons from games he knew, strange, mystical artifacts, cards with swirling symbols. He watched, mesmerized and utterly thrilled, as it spun faster and faster.

After a few tense minutes, it slowed, juddered, then stopped. His gaze locked onto the prize: a round, white and yellow fruit covered in intricate, swirling patterns.

"Mochi Mochi no Mi Devil Fruit," the system announced. "Details: Devil Fruit from the One Piece world. Grants specific powers."

"Ding! First lottery drawn. The item has been specially enchanted for the host because it was the first lottery."

"Mochi-Mochi no Mi!" Kai gasped, a wide grin spreading across his face. He knew this one. The power to transform into mochi, with Logia-like properties when awakened. Its user in One Piece was formidable. Without hesitation, he seized the strange fruit. He braced himself for the notoriously disgusting taste of Devil Fruits, but as he bit into it, his eyes widened. It was sweet, profoundly sweet, like the finest confection. He devoured the entire thing.

"Why is this fruit sweet? I thought they were disgusting," Kai muttered, puzzled.

"Ding! System enhanced the fruit. It has no weakness to seawater," the system replied.

"No seawater weakness?" Kai's mind reeled. "What other enhancements?"

"Resistance to fire and water," the system stated. "You can also control the density of the mochi. It can become as hard as steel or as sticky as desired."

A wild grin stretched across Kai's face. He focused, and a dollop of soft, white mochi appeared in his palm, easily manipulated. He willed it to change, hardening it instantly into a dense, metallic sphere, then liquefying it into a viscous goo.

"This is incredible!" he whispered, a surge of raw power coursing through him. He checked his status panel:

Name: Kai

Skills:

* Transform whatever he touches into mochi.

* Manipulate mochi with his will.

* Make mochi as hard as steel and as sticky as desired.

Devil Fruit Mastery: 30%

"What the hell?" He channeled his power, summoning a wave of mochi beneath his feet. It surged, encasing him in a hulking, giant mochi monster form. He instantly made his new body denser, like pure steel, and slammed a massive fist into a nearby tree. The trunk snapped with a loud crack. Then, he reshaped his mochi arm into a gleaming steel sword, cleaving a thick willow tree into several pieces with a single, fluid slash. The tension that had gripped him since his arrival vanished, replaced by a fierce surge of confidence. He began transforming, shifting from a mochi dragon to a hulking gorilla, his control already surprisingly good. He had the power to face whatever this new world threw at him.
