Chapter 1 - The Creation of Mox

Once every eon, a god awakens. It starts out as a child, and then it grows, and then it makes its first planet. To it, it is a realm, a world, created by it to outlast, but once they grow up and reach adulthood, they realise that the world they created is just one of many.

Most planets are godless, and it has been like that since the beginning of the universe, since the expansion, and then the establishment of all living things. Only a select few are blessed with the gift of life, and one of these planets was called Mox.

It started out nameless, as a desolate grey rock sphere floating in the endless expanse of space, and it had no trace of life on it. From one of the corners of the sandpaper-esque threshold, a glowing light was shot out of it.

All gods had similar forms. They all started as a flash of light, before assuming shape. They would grow arms and legs, and a head, to fit their brains, and eyes so that they could see. They would grow ears, so they could hear, and mouths, so they could eat. Of course, gods didn't need to.

The light shimmered and fizzled, and it flew up to stare at the planet it had come out from. It looked dead. The light didn't know anything, but what he had been told in the waiting room between worlds before he had arrived to this universe:

His name was Jikoku, and this was his planet.

The light thought, and his thoughts became one. His thoughts were like the words writers put on pieces of paper, but this time he was creating a real world for people to live in, to prosper and thrive, to weep and smile. Jikoku was proud of his vision, and set his plan in motion. This planet was the fifth one away from the giant red star in the distance, and it gave the planet enough light for Jikoku to make life. He named it Mox, because it was the ancient word for "soon", and soon, this planet would be filled with the species he made.

He added an atmosphere and covered the planet's surface in water. The view from the planet was no longer black and starless, it was blue. Jikoku saw that it was good.

He was hard at work, and he made birds and land-dwelling creatures, and inhabitants of the ocean, who could swim freely. He breathed the breath of life on his creations, and they burst into animation. The bird soared, and the land-dwelling creatures walked, and the inhabitants of the ocean swam. Jikoku took inspiration from another planet, Earth, where the first god was born, the one who was simply known as "God". He had no fancy names but many titles, and he was the first to create the basic procedures for life on planets. And so Jikoku followed. He separated the light and dark of the days, calling them both respectively "day" and "night", based on God's original blueprint.

He created beings in the shape of him, called humans, and made two sexes, male, based after himself, and female, based off of God's original blueprint. Jikoku descended into Mox to take a look around. He created a magnificent throne adorned with hundreds and thousands of glittering gemstones, and he created a staff imbued with the powers of a god. He was known by his people as The Sovereign of Order, and he liked it that way. He decided to enter an unshakable sleep, destined to awaken within the next century to view how well things have fared, but before he gathered his thoughts in the deepest parts of his mind, he wondered why God had never made any other creatures coexist with the humans he had created. He decided to make another species to help the humans. He had created another species: the Sables (not to be confused with sables from Earth). They were giant creatures with two legs and two arms, and their torso was massive, and their heads were shaped like beaks. Their backs were covered in scales, and a protrusion appeared out of them, it was like they had shells. Jikoku was proud. They did not look like humans in any way, and that was apparent. The humans showed no hospitality when they first met the stables, and they had begun to attack when Jikoku stepped in: "Stop! These are not creatures of sin!" He made the humans back away, and their fear of the sables was showing. "We do not want to exist with these foul beings!" one of them yelled, and he drew his spear.

"You will learn to live with them either way!" Jikoku answered furiously, and he returned to his throne. For a millenia, he watched over the humans and the sables. He watched them enact in wars, and it was very clear that the sables were stronger. After a century, the humans decided to enact a peace treaty between the sables and humans, and only minor disputes happened since. After five centuries, sables were given properties to live alongside humans, and they were proficient in English, the language Jikoku chose for Mox. After a century, they were seen as the same. Sables were known as the human's siblings, and they existed with them, they flocked together, they became friends, they thrived and roamed and prospered. And Jikoku was proud.

He decided to introduce another species to coexist with the humans and sables. And so he created the Drayls, creatures around 70 centimetres in height with horns. Their skin was rough and grey, and it would remind Earthlings of dinosaurs.

Jikoku had then created dragons, two kinds, one of the kinds was long, and they had multiple short arms and could levitate in the air like a floating snake, and the second kind was not long, it had the body reminiscent of a large lizard, but it flew like a bird with giant wings. He called the long ones "Loongs" and the winged ones "Westerners". He made Loongs calm and respectful by nature, but the Westerners had other plans, as they built their own cities away from Sables, Drayles, and Humans. By themselves, they had called the groups that coexisted, the Sables, Drayles, and Humans, "Parers".

After all of his hard work, Jikoku was exhausted. He returned to his heaven-piercing throne, and found that the Parers had added to it while he was away. There were villages centered on the throne, on its sides, and a long, tall staircase up to the seat, where Jikoku would find his original throne, unharmed in any way. From his seat he could see Mox's curvature, and he could see every village and city that dotted the landscape on this half of the planet. He rested. He shifted into a deep sleep.

Every millenia he would wake up and walk around, communicate with the Westerners and the Parers, and then he would sleep again. Everytime he woke up, Mox looked different. It started out just like this, with small villages. Now it had been expanded, and a floating city had been added, to which the god was pleased about.

That all changed a millenia ago, where Jikoku swore to never sleep until his planet had been saved.
