Chapter 489: Kaori Miyazono and Yamauchi Sakura! New Anthropomorphic Cells!
Ren's efficiency was high. He bid farewell to the Witches, left the Chaos Realm, and instantly teleported to Yamauchi Sakura's location. She no longer needed to go to the hospital. The hospital was shocked by the sudden disappearance of her disease.
Sitting by her computer, she was searching for posts about superpowers, thinking she could try to make contact with his world. Suddenly, a face leaned over her shoulder.
"Whoa!!!" This startled her, and she instinctively threw a punch.
"Good heavens, you're trying to take out your savior?" Her fist was caught by Ren.
"Ren-kun!" She then clearly saw who it was.
He released her. "Long time no see. But to try and punch me the moment we meet, that's quite something."
"Ahem, I thought it was a ghost. You startled me," she stuck out her tongue. Her clenched fist relaxed.
"Ren-kun, is there something you need?" she asked.
He nodded. "Yes. Do you remember the person I mentioned who was in a similar situation to yours?"
"The Anthropomorphic Cells!" she instantly thought of it.
"Yes. I came this time to take you to meet her. There are some things I need from you two."
Indoors, Kaori Miyazono, lying on her bed, prayed every day to see Ren again. With hope in her heart, she slowly closed her eyes.
"Is it her?" A sudden voice made her reopen them. She saw a man and a woman by her bed. The strange girl was scrutinizing her. The boy's face brought a rush of familiarity.
Suddenly sitting up, she tentatively called out, "Is that you, Ren-kun?"
He smiled slightly. "It's me, Kaori. Is your body still adapting?"
Her lips curved into a brilliant smile. "It has completely adapted. Thank you."
Yamauchi Sakura was curious about Kaori. This blonde girl was very beautiful. What is her relationship with Ren?
Ren introduced them. "Kaori Miyazono, that's her name. This is Yamauchi Sakura. I'm looking for you two because of your special nature, which is related to two of my friends."
"Special nature?" Kaori didn't know what was special about her.
"Kaori, there are anthropomorphic cells in your body, and I need their power," he told her without hiding anything.
"Ah?" she was confused.
"Give me your hand." He wasn't going to explain much. Kaori obediently extended it. He took it without a word, and her heartbeat quickened.
When Ren sensed that the cells in her body were also female, he breathed a sigh of relief. Then, in the same way as before, he transformed her cells into Redemption Angels.
For a moment, Kaori's body shimmered with golden light. She felt her physical strength and senses rapidly changing. A small golden ball of light separated from her body, then expanded, and she saw it turn into a woman in a pure white military uniform, with white wings and a golden halo. An angel.
White Blood Cell held a dagger, only lowering her guard after seeing Ren.
"This is White Blood Cell," he introduced.
"White Blood Cell? Is that her name?"
"No, it's literal. Your white blood cell. That's what I mean by anthropomorphic cells."
"!!!" Kaori was bewildered. Is this what it means?
"You are the body," White Blood Cell scrutinized her. Her spirit was good, no longer as fragile.
"..." Kaori didn't know how to respond. Communicating with my own cells?
"She really has them too," upon seeing White Blood Cell, Sakura had a sense of déjà vu. With a wave of his hand, Platelet was also summoned.
"White Blood Cell and Platelet are my friends," Ren said. "It's because of their existence that I appeared before you."
"Ren-kun, are you saying you knew my White Blood Cell first, and then appeared to cure my illness?" Kaori tried to sort it out.
Sakura was surprised. "Were you also cured by Ren-kun?"
Kaori asked, "Eh?"
"Your situations are similar. After I met them, I learned that the bodies they resided in—yours—were on the verge of collapse, which is why I appeared."
As for how he managed to know their cells before seeing their bodies, that question involves the Doomsday Chat Group, and he didn't elaborate.
