Chapter 21: Acquiring the Production Classes of Alchemist and Potion Master

Grandma Lijie averted her gaze, then turned and walked back toward the carriage, saying without looking back, "We depart in an hour!"

The members of Rock Squad quickly responded, their bodies relaxing in unison.

It was one thing not to know before, but now, realizing that Grandma Lijie was a Magic Caster capable of using third-tier magic, they naturally felt a palpable pressure.

"Captain Dosali, may I examine your injuries?" Nfirea Bale asked with some anticipation, not leaving with the others.

"Of course," Captain Dosali said, pausing for a moment before nodding.

Nearby, the brothers Ler and Rand were helped to sit on the ground. The archer, Bask, quickly opened his backpack and took out three bottles of blue liquid—recovery potions. He handed them to the other members of Rock Squad.

Bask could only shrug helplessly as he watched the pained expressions on the faces of Captain Dosali and the other two as they gulped down the expensive potions.

Although the restorative effect of the potions was far inferior to healing magic, they could still stabilize injuries and promote slow recovery.

As the only one in the party still at full combat strength, Bask stood up after giving the three their potions and walked back to the battlefield. He cut off the ears from the ten goblins and two ogres they had killed, placing the grisly trophies into a leather pouch at his waist.

These were proof of the monsters they had slain, and the ears could be exchanged for money at the Adventurer's Guild.

Meanwhile, after Nfirea Bale carefully examined Captain Dosali's calf, his bright blue eyes gleamed with a mixture of curiosity and contemplation.

"What is it?" Tang Zheng asked from the side, noticing the change in Nfirea Bale's expression.

Captain Dosali instantly tensed up; the recovery of his calf injury was crucial to his future career as an adventurer.

"For such a severe injury, it's amazing that the skin and muscles have recovered so perfectly, yet the bone inside hasn't," Nfirea mused. "It really is different from how a recovery potion heals injuries."

Nfirea Bale looked up at Tang Zheng and spoke excitedly. He then scrambled to his feet and ran toward the carriage, calling out, "Wait for me!"

*Is there a difference between healing magic and recovery potions?* A thoughtful look crossed Tang Zheng's face. *In a game, there shouldn't be. Both just restore health points. But in this otherworld, there really might be a distinction.*

He also recalled that recovery potions in this otherworld were distinctly different from the ones in the game YGGDRASIL.

Soon, Nfirea Bale came running back, carrying a stack of herbs. Tang Zheng instinctively glanced into the distance at Grandma Lijie, who was now sitting back in the carriage. She didn't seem to mind.

*Perhaps this unexpected situation wasn't a bad thing in Grandma Lijie's eyes.* Tang Zheng recalled Nfirea Bale mentioning that he had been studying how to make recovery potions for several years, but had never actually crafted one himself.

With the members of Rock Squad injured, this was a rare, hands-on opportunity for Nfirea Bale.

Nfirea Bale jogged over, placed the stack of herbs he was carrying aside, selected several types, and held them in his palm.

"Potion Crafting," he murmured. A faint green energy appeared and enveloped the herbs in his hand. Under the glow of the magic, the herbs slowly began to decompose, transforming into a granular powder.

Next, Nfirea Bale used the same method to reduce several other types of herbs to powder, then skillfully mixed them together in the correct proportions. The entire process took about ten minutes.

"Tang, can you help me?" Nfirea Bale asked, looking up.

"Alright," Tang Zheng quickly nodded.

He had previously considered the two production classes, Potion Master and Alchemist. Now that the opportunity had presented itself, Tang Zheng naturally wouldn't refuse.

At Nfirea Bale's prompting, Tang Zheng retrieved the ceramic pot he had been using as a kettle.

"Pour the water in," Nfirea Bale said, holding the medicinal powders in both hands.

Tang Zheng opened his waterskin and poured the water into the ceramic pot. As he did, Nfirea Bale added all the powders he was holding.

"Alchemy!" Nfirea Bale exclaimed as he picked up the ceramic pot and gently shook it. At the same time, a faint glow emanated from his hands.

As Tang Zheng and the members of Rock Squad watched, the liquid in the ceramic pot gradually transformed into a light green, cloudy solution.

"This is... a recovery potion!" Captain Dosali's eyes widened as he spoke in shock.

He believed that, other than potion masters themselves, very few people in this world ever got to witness the creation of a recovery potion.

"No, this isn't a recovery potion," Nfirea Bale said seriously, shaking his head at Captain Dosali's exclamation. "It can only be called an alchemical solution with a healing effect. Creating a complete recovery potion requires a much more complex process. Furthermore, if left for too long, the solution in this pot will spoil. It will become not only unusable but also slightly toxic. It can only be made and used on the spot."

"Captain Dosali, drink this," Nfirea Bale said with a bright smile, holding up the ceramic pot and handing it to him. "It's an alchemical solution that can alleviate pain and provides a slight healing effect. It should help with your injuries."

Captain Dosali and the Rand brothers, who were watching from where they sat on the ground, suddenly found their breathing quickening as the pained, regretful expressions returned to their faces.

*If only we'd known, we wouldn't have drunk those recovery potions!*

Next, Nfirea Bale prepared two more batches, handing them to the equally injured Rand brothers.

After he was finished, a clear look of fatigue was visible on his face. Evidently, creating three portions of the "alchemical solution" took a significant toll.

"What's wrong, Tang?" Nfirea Bale asked as he rolled up his sleeves and wiped the sweat from his forehead, noticing Tang Zheng staring blankly into space beside him.

At that moment, Tang Zheng's attention was fixed on his attribute panel. The skills Nfirea Bale had just demonstrated, [Potion Crafting] and [Alchemy], had caused a reaction in the interface.

Tang Zheng spent two skill points to learn them, and his attribute panel updated with the new changes:
