Jiya,s pov
I can't call it heartbreak, right?
Because we never dated.
I can't call it heartbreak, because we never kissed.
I can't call it heartbreak, because there was someone else he was in love with.
I can't call it heartbreak, because he was never mine.
Then why does it hurt more than a heartbreak?
Why is this happening to me?
I'm crying out loud.
Why am I in so much pain?
Why does my chest hurt like this?
Jiya, you already know he could never be yours-then why does it still hurt even after knowing that?
After crying, I was in that state...
I stepped out of the room without wiping my tears.
There was no one around.
Alex and Alina were here a while ago, but now they're gone.
I walked down the stairs barefoot.
When I reached downstairs, I saw no one there either.
I opened the house gate and stepped out of the house-
I walked all the way to the main gate.
Just as I was about to leave through it,
The guard stopped me and said,
"Where are you going in this condition?"
I looked at him and gave a faint smile.
Then I walked straight out through the main gate.
I just knew one thing-
I couldn't stay in that house anymore.
I didn't know where I was going.
It was already night.
I kept walking down the road slowly, barefoot.
Since I wasn't wearing shoes, my feet were hurting a bit.
But it still hurt way less than the pain in my chest.
His words kept echoing in my head-
And I kept crying.
After walking for a while,
I sat down under a streetlight.
A little later,
Suddenly, someone grabbed my face and mouth from behind. I was struggling hard to free myself, but the man said loudly,
"Bigyan mo ako ng lahat ng mayroon ka."
[Give me everything you have.]
I couldn't understand what was happening. I was crying hard, trying my best to escape from him, but I couldn't. A moment later, he said again,
"Ilabas mo ang lahat ng mayroon ka, o papatayin kita?"
[Give me everything you have, or I will kill you.]
As he spoke those words, he pressed a knife against my throat. I kept fighting, hitting his hands with all my strength so he would let me go, but nothing worked. The bandage on my hand came off, and blood started to flow from the wound. Things were getting worse. At one point, a car approached us. Seeing the car, the man quickly pulled the knife away from my throat, shoved me to the road, and ran away.
I collapsed on the road, hitting my head badly-blood began to pour out. The car that had approached stopped right in front of us, and a man rushed out shouting, "Jiya!"
I looked up-it was Alex ❤️.
My throat was burning in pain. I touched it and realized the knife had cut deep when the man pulled it away, and blood was pouring out. Alex came running, lifted me in his arms in a bridal carry, and said,
"We need to go to the hospital now! You're bleeding a lot!"
My eyes were beginning to close-I didn't know why. Alex said,
"Don't close your eyes, stay with me! We're going to the hospital right now."
Saying that, he carried me toward the car. My eyes were fluttering shut, but I could still catch glimpses of him.
Oh Allah, in times of danger, You always send Alex to me as my savior. The man I never even dreamed of seeing up close, today he's saving my life.
If going through these dangers means I get to be with Alex, then let them come. At least he's with me.
Alex kept saying, "Don't close your eyes."
He gently laid me on the back seat and started driving fast, saying,
"We'll reach the hospital soon, just don't close your eyes."
Hearing him say that made me smile faintly. Alex was truly worried for me.
We reached the hospital. He carried me inside, yelling,
"Where's the doctor? Where are the nurses?"
A few nurses rushed over and took me from his arms. My whole body was covered in blood-and so was Alex's.
He told the nurses desperately,
"Please do something quickly, she's losing a lot of blood!"
The doctor arrived and said,
"Mayroong maraming dugo na lumabas na, malalim ang hiwa, dali, dalhin natin siya sa loob."
[A lot of blood has been lost, the cut is deep-quick, take her inside.]
The doctor and nurses took me in. Alex kept looking at me, and I looked back at him... and then everything went dark.
I wish Alex could always be with me like this. I know, even if it were someone else, Alex would have done the same. Still, even in such a terrifying moment, he was there.
If only he were mine forever-not just this life, but the afterlife too. Jiya and Alex... one soul.
I could see Alex holding both sides of my face and whispering,
"You are my life. You are my everything."
He brought his face closer-and our lips met. He kissed me. Then he smiled at me.
God, I'm dying here.
But suddenly someone touched his shoulder. It was Alina.
She looked at Alex, then at me-with sadness.
Then slowly, the two of them disappeared like mist.
I was left alone. What was happening to me?
I started calling out, desperately,
"Alex! Alex! Aleeeeeex!"
Someone was shaking me gently.
"Don't worry, we're here with you."
I opened my eyes-it was two nurses.
So it was a dream... thank God.
One of the nurses I recognized-she'd given me an injection before. I took a deep breath.
She said,
"Don't worry. Your husband just stepped out, he'll be back soon."
Husband? I don't have a husband.
I said,
"I don't have a husband."
The nurse replied,
"Isn't Alex Astor your husband?"
Alex... my husband? That can never happen in this life.
I said,
"No."
If only it were true.
She continued,
"You were calling out Alex Sir's name while unconscious. Then, from the very beginning, Alex Sir has been taking care of you in such a way that we thought he was your husband".
Oh no, I was searching for him in a dream, screaming his name out loud.
I know Alex brought me here the first time, Bob Sir said so. But how did he take care of me? I never saw him come here. And the second time, when my leg was broken, Alex came and argued with me. When did he take care of me?
I said to the nurse, "Alex only came here once when my leg was broken, you yourself were here during the injection. You're saying he's been taking care of me since the first time I came here. I can't even ask the question properly, everything is getting messed up. Can you please explain it to me properly?"
The nurse said, "The first time, Alex Sir brought you here, and he also came to see you here, maybe you were sleeping so you didn't know. And he was repeatedly calling us to check on you. The second time, when your leg was broken, you said you had no one here to take care of you, so we told Alex Sir about it. Since he was the one who brought you here, we told him. Then he sent a girl to you. Okay, you rest now, Sir said he will be here shortly."
She left.
So Alex had sent Julie to check on me. Wow, he really is caring. He kept asking about me too.
Even if he couldn't come here, he could've called me.
Alina is so lucky. To get a husband like Alex-you really need good fortune.
She's truly lucky.
I had been waiting for Alex for a long time. I don't know why, but I really wanted to see him.
I kept waiting and didn't sleep-what if he came and I missed him?
I waited until day turned into night, but Alex didn't come. I started crying.
My inner voice spoke:
"Girl, understand-he just helped you like any normal person would. His work is done, so he left. Do you even realize who Alex Astor is? He's a huge celebrity."
It's true. Why would he care about me?
Tears streamed down my face.
I somehow placed my feet on the floor. They hurt because I had walked barefoot on the road earlier.
Slowly, I went to the bathroom to splash water on my face.
But both my hands and fingers were bandaged.
How would I even touch water?
I came out of the bathroom-and saw Alina standing there holding a bouquet of flowers.
I stared at her, stunned.
She was dressed in black pants, a white shirt, and high heels-looking like a true celebrity.
She was dazzling, like a princess.
She smiled at me and said,
"How are you feeling now?"
I replied,
"Well, you can see, not very great."
She handed me the bouquet.
"Thank you, ma'am. Please, have a seat."
She sat down on the chair while I placed the bouquet gently on the table and sat back on the bed.
Alina had come to see me. Wow.
Our relationship was never that close-why would she come for no reason?
There must be a reason.
Still smiling, she said,
"You're in a VIP cabin, you know that?"
I replied,
"I didn't know, ma'am."
Suddenly her smile faded and she got serious.
She said,
"Of course you wouldn't. People love enjoying luxury off someone else's money."
What was she implying?
I said,
"Sorry, ma'am. I didn't understand."
She replied,
"Nothing confusing about it. Do you really think you can take Alex from me?
If that's what you're imagining, let me tell you-it's not possible.
He will always be mine."
She stood up and said,
"From now on, stay away from Alex-his home, his agency, and him."
As she turned to leave, I said,
"If Alex Sir truly loves you, then you shouldn't feel insecure about me.
And as for this cabin-if he really paid for it, that's between us.
Thank you, ma'am, for coming to see me despite your busy schedule.
I hope you stay well too."
She glared at me with rage, then stormed out, slamming the door behind her.
