Chapter 9 - was it just imagination?

I opened my eyes and found myself lying on the same hospital bed. Huh? How did I get here?

Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through my head.

Did I dream all this time?

I can't understand anything.

Even if it was a dream, only Alex should have been there—

but today I saw Alina Mathew and Drake John too.

Wow, what an expensive dream I had—

I saw all highly paid celebrities together.

Some moments are flashing vaguely in my head—

someone holding me,

nurses rushing toward me,

and again, I see Alex, Drake, and Alina all together.

Nothing feels exactly clear.

And from this, I realized—

It was a dream.

Yes, my dream.

A nurse came in and said,

"Bangon ka na, oras na para sa gamot mo."

(Get up, it's time for your medicine.)

Oh Allah, if only I could understand this Tagalog!

I said, "Speak in English."

Then she told me again in English about the medicine.

I took the medicine.

I asked the nurse,

"How long have I been here?"

The nurse replied,

"Since afternoon."

Now the time is 1 AM.

So I've been asleep all this time.

How did I get here?

Who brought me?

I asked the nurse.

The nurse said,

"Two people came.

Two patients were brought in together.

You're one of them.

The other one recovered and left."

Just when I was about to ask more, the nurse said again,

"All three of them have left, and we're not allowed to say who was here".

Huh!!

What was that?

Someone helped me, and I won't even know who it was?

And who were those 3 people?

Who were they?

I don't know anyone here.

I didn't say anything else to the nurse,

because I knew she wouldn't say more.

The nurse said,

"You can go home tomorrow."

I asked for my phone.

She gave it to me.

I emailed Ma'am and Bob Sir, saying I'm not in a condition to come.

After sending the email, I put the phone dth.

Naturally, I couldn't fall asleep. I had already slept so much.

I sat up on the bed and looked around the room. It was empty.

No one here really knows me, so no one came to visit.

I was still feeling a little dizzy, but I managed to get up and move around.

Something about the place seemed familiar.

I couldn't remember where I had seen it before, but it felt like I had.

I walked around for a bit.

There weren't many people around—just a few nurses and a couple of men.

As I was about to step onto the balcony, I saw someone smoking a cigarette there.

I didn't go near him. I can't tolerate the smell of cigarettes.

I went back to my room and lay down.

I kept the light on because I'm really scared of complete darkness.

At home, I always sleep with fairy lights.

Where would I find that in a hospital?

So I just left the main light on.

I closed my eyes.

After a while, I started feeling like someone was sitting beside me.

I immediately opened my eyes—and yes, someone was sitting there.

The room was dark.

The window was open, and faint light from outside was coming in.

I could just barely see—someone wearing a mask was beside me.

I opened my mouth to scream—

But the person covered my mouth with one hand.

I tried to remove the hand with both of mine, but I couldn't.

When he realized I wouldn't stop struggling,

He took his hand away and quickly left the room.

I sat up and said, "Who?"

But he had already gone.

Who was that?

What exactly is happening to me?

I turned the light back on.

There was no way I could sleep after that—I was so scared.

In the morning, I managed to sleep a little.

When I woke up, the doctor came to check on me again,

gave me some instructions, and more medicine.

Now my head is spinning again—Oh Allah, the hospital bill 🥲

Money is already tight, and now this on top of everything.

I went to the reception and asked how much the bill was.

They said they'd check.

Then the staff member said,

"It's already been paid."

What?

Already paid?

Oh Allah, what is going on?

I asked, "Can I know who paid it?"

The person replied,

"The one who brought you paid the bill, and they asked us not to reveal their name."

Strange.

All of this is really confusing me.

Someone did so much for me but doesn't even want to be known?

I left the hospital feeling heavy with questions.

Then I went outside—straight to the office.

My hand was swollen from the cannula, and my body still felt weak.

When I got to the office, I heard that Bob Sir was in a meeting—

he had called everyone to attend.

I went in and saw they were discussing the upcoming party.

Hearing that made my heart leap with excitement.

Yayyy!

Finally, the time is coming when I'll get to see Alex Astor!

After the meeting, they explained the tasks.

It's going to be like an award night.

All the artists will be there.

Wow.

After that, I went to see Ma'am.

Same story—she doesn't really like me.

She gave me lots of tasks, and I kept doing them.

Eventually, night came, and it was time to go home.

Bob Sir called me and asked,

"How are you feeling now?"

I said,

"Sir, I just came straight from the hospital today.

Still feeling a bit off, but it's manageable.

I don't know how it happened—I fainted and then woke up in the hospital.

I'm thankful to whoever took me there.

But I still don't know who it was.

And thank you too, Sir, for allowing me to take leave from my new job."

Sir said,

"You said all that in one breath!"

Me: "Sorry, Sir."

Sir: "You said you don't know who took you there?"

Then he smiled a little.

The truth is—I really don't know.

He told the hospital not to reveal their name.

I said, "No, Sir."

Then he said,

"Alex took you."

I was confused.

Wait—are there more people named Alex in the agency?

I only know Alex Astor.

So I asked,

"Sorry, Sir, which Alex Sir?"

Sir looked surprised and said,

"You don't know Alex? The whole Philippines is known because of this one man."

I stood frozen in shock.

He looked at me and said,

"Close your mouth, or a mosquito will fly in."

I said,

"Sir, are you talking about Alex Astor?"

Sir laughed and said,

"Yes, you silly."

My hands and legs began to shake—

What did I just hear?

The person I've been dying to see even once—

He's the one who took me to the hospital?

What did I just hear?

Sir gave me some water—

I drank it and somehow managed to get up.

I kept thinking—

So Alex really took me to the hospital.

It's confirmed now.

But I still can't recall exactly what happened there.

Which means...

That scene I saw with Alina, Drake, and Alex—

It wasn't a dream.

That means it wasn't just imagination.🥹🥹

But what actually happened?

That's the part I still can't remember.
