"Then, the mage tower's instructor's son would be perfect for you"
"A mage's son? Wouldn't he be a mage then?"
"Usually that would be the case, but this one is a rebel. He might be a little hard to handle, but you might be able to manage fine"
"That does not sound reassuring at all"

The conversation between Dermis and Karter followed while they begin climbing up the mage tower. The tower wasn't too big, nor was it too extravagant. It was an endless path of stairs inside.
It wasn't an unusual event, mages were known to always hide. So within this tower, they must have some secret routes to various rooms.
Karter suddenly stopped in the middle and placed his hand on the grey brick wall. He pressed against a grey brick and the floor started to shake a little. The place Karter had touched before, started opening up to reveal a door. A door had a magic circle on it, so it must have been locked with a spell.
"What was the password again??" Karter scratched his head while pondering.
"Oh! Yes! It was.....[A Wolf In A Goat's Clothing]"
' cling clang' the magic circle on the door started to shine in neon pink then it disappeared.
Karter opened the door and inside it was..... very messy. The grey brick walled interior didn't change and the room was darker than the stairway. Fire balls were floating around to give light to the room. Three wooden desks were placed in the medium sized room. The desks were pillyed with papers with magic imprints and circle designs. The floors were dusty and in the corner there was a green two seated couch. On the couch a human figure was laying down with his head covered with papers.
"Hey old man! Get up!" Karter nudged the sleeping man and he groaned out of annoyance.
"Shut up you geezer_"
"You're literally older than me"
"Eeeehhh"
The man got up and his face was finally revealed.
Droopy eyes like fish, eyebags, messy dark brown hair, slender, magic black coat, a handsome face and a very back posture.
"Who is this?"
"Oh ho! This is my hero you see....he saved Darla's life"
"No...I didn't do much you are flattering me"
Dermis was flustered. He gazed upon the slender man again and simply judged him.
"So? Why is he here?"
"Remember that you owe me?"
"Aaa...yes I do. Soo?"
"It's time to repay me back"
"??" The slender man kept frowning.
"Teach him swordsmanship"
"Huh??! You know dad banned me from it, don't you?!" He was completely displeased now.
"I will talk to master Ber, you teach him swordsmanship"
"Is there no other way to repay you?"
"Nope, just this"
The slender man sighed hard and covered his face with his hands.
"Oh and also Dermis, I forgot to mention. He may look human but he is a demi human. He just transformed himself to blend in"
"Oh! Yes, now you're are giving personal information old fart."
"What!? I'm just giving some heads-up. He will be shocked later on"

The slender man came towards Dermis, and he was almost the same height. All of a sudden, two giant horns started to pop out of the slender man's head. Dermis fight or flight reflexes started acting immediately, he pulled out his [Last Breath of Sphinx King] and aimed it at the slender man. The slender man looked unbothered and scratched his head, since it was itching.
"G-get back Karter! I'll handle him!"
Karter started giggling from behind and slightly pushed [Last Breath of Sphinx King] down, indicating that there is no danger.
"This gentleman here may look like a demon because of the horns but he is just a goat"
"A goat?"
"Yes a goat. He is often mistaken as a demon because of those horns. No wonder he always hides them"
(There is actually no dark mana coming out of him, it's still wired though) Dermis thought to himself.
"I'm Vance, a demi human. Half goat, half human"
"....." Dermis was too stunt to speak.
"Should I laugh at you, or pity you" Dermis sarcastically remarked.
"Why would you wanna do either?"
"No I mean, 'pfftt' "
"Oi are you laughing at me you green poo"

Dermis still kept on laughing. Vance was filled with rage and wanted to smack the guy in front of him immediately.
Before that could happen, Karter stepped in.
"You know, you should respect your elders Dermis"
"Elder?"
"He is 9807 years old..."
"Uh?"
Dermis starred at Vance for a few minutes in complete disbelief.
"You're old"
'tackkkk'
"Shut up fool! I know that!"
Vance's rage finally bursted.
"Kids these days, so disrespectful 'tsk tsk tsk' "
Vance said while whipping the hand that he used to hit Dermis with fury. Dermis who now was lying down on the floor with a big bump on his head kept lying on the floor silently.
It was immediate chaos with the first 10 minutes. They are gonna get along so well.

Somewhere else, at the same time. Kyoko felt a chill run down her spine. She didn't require her giant ears to understand that something provoking was coming on her way. Still she shrugged the feeling off.
Kyoko was alone with Darla and was moving along the Yoplis kingdom's streets. The merchants offered her various items. It was natural for so many people to notice her and give her special treatment. She was a pretty demi human.
"Pretty miss look at this"
"Miss, miss this will suit you well"
"You definitely need this"
"I would give you this for free"
"Are you free this dinner miss"
"Please join me for dinner instead"
"No pick me! Pick me!"
"She is coming with me"
She refused the merchants and dealers away and sighed heavily. The crowd was still adamant about getting her for dinner. Just their plans were not gonna be put to work now.
"Ho ho ho it's nice to be young isn't it?"
"I'm older than you Darla"
"Hoho, your complexion says otherwise"
"That's how different we are.....you are a short liver"
"Compared to humans, I've spent a long time here... I already feel my ending coming"
"How old are you now"
"Aren't you bring rude right now dearie~"
"Oh-oh I'm sorry" Kyoko got flustered
"Hehe this old woman was joking, I'm 438 years old"
Kyoko's face darkened for a while and she bit her lips.
"You don't have to look sad, everyone has their ending coming"
Kyoko smiled softly at Darla and she did the same.
"Oh! Isn't that Dermis?"
"Oh yes! Let me call him out.....DEEMIS!"
Dermis noticed the waving Kyoko and proceeded towards her.
Kyoko eyes caught a glance at the one who was accompanying Dermis. He looked like an ordinary human.
"Hello, what are you doing here?"
"I was looking for some stuff around the shops, what about you Kyoko"
"Darla and I were heading to find my new teacher.....that must be your teacher right"
Kyoko pointed towards Vance and he just starred at her with wide eyes.
'thump thump thump thump thump'
The sound of heartbeat rang through Vance's ears. His heart was thumping like crazy by the sight in front of him. His ears and face flushed red. The beautiful demi human Infront of him was the reason alone.
Rosy cheeks, beautiful violet long hair, pink dazzling eyes, pinkish lips that parted a bit. A dazzling light came from her. Her voice was soothing to his ears. Her curious eyes made him curious about her. He sweated nervously and his hands trembled.
