Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: The Devil Squad! Elbaf!

On the ship of the Rocks Pirates...

"Hahahaha!"

Rocks laughed loudly as he looked out at the scene on the distant sea. "Isn't it insane, Newgate? Even meteorites are falling from the sky now!"

Whitebeard sat quietly nearby, sipping his sake without a word.

"Do you think even earthquakes are within Roya's power?"

Rocks continued. "He probably can't create shockwaves like your Gura Gura no Mi, but earthquakes? That might be easy for him."

"Even if he's a mythical Zoan, it's still a bit too much,"

Whitebeard muttered slowly. "The craziest kid got the craziest ability."

Roya, who thrived on destruction, just so happened to awaken an ability capable of creating catastrophe with the flick of a finger.

"That's right! A madman's power!"

Rocks said with interest. "I wonder which one is stronger: Roya's abilities, or the legendary powers of the Sun God, Nika?"

"Funny, isn't it? Nika is said to be a liberator, a god who brings laughter and hope... and our little Roya is a demon child who feeds on human suffering and brings disaster!"

Whitebeard remained silent, expression dark.

"Hahahaha! But the kid was born too late!"

Rocks roared with laughter. "There's no stage left in this world where he can show off. I'm ending this era myself!"

Meanwhile, on the Navy warship...

Roya had no idea what Rocks was rambling about.

He stared at the falling meteorite in mild disappointment.

Only about ten meters in diameter… Right now, he could only summon meteorites of this size. It still paled in comparison to Fujitora—not to mention someone like Madara from that other series.

It wasn't enough.

Roya thought the size was underwhelming. The navy, on the other hand, was close to despair.

"What kind of joke is this?!"

A marine captain, still trying to keep calm despite Roya's oppressive aura, couldn't stop his voice from cracking. "What kind of monster is he?!"

As his composure wavered, darkness began creeping into his eyes.

A commodore screamed, "Vice Admiral! It's all up to you!"

Vice Admiral Johnson sprang into action. The blade at his hip shone with dark Armament Haki. "Kill it!!"

A streak of azure-blue sword light burst forth, heading straight toward the falling meteorite.

He was worthy of his rank—Vice Admiral of the Navy Headquarters. With a single slash, he split the meteorite cleanly in two. The force of the flying slash even illuminated the sky.

"Incredible technique! A Flying Slash!"

Roya clapped his hands in mid-air. "Impressive. Armament Haki and sword technique combined… Best not to get close to him. I'm not sure if this fur can take that hit."

But it still wasn't enough. The two halves of the meteorite kept falling toward the warship.

Gritting his teeth, Johnson unleashed several more slashes, breaking the meteorite fragments down further.

But then—Snap!

A bolt of brilliant blue-white lightning shot down from the sky and struck Johnson mid-air.

"Grahh!"

Even with his Haki defense, Johnson was blasted into the sea.

BOOM!

The broken meteorite pieces slammed into the warship, tearing through the deck. The hull couldn't withstand the impact and began falling apart. Marines screamed as they plunged into the sea.

"Such a waste of stamina."

Roya sighed.

His abilities were devastating—but incredibly energy-consuming.

Luckily, black mist was now rising from the marines' scattered bodies.

Roya inhaled deeply, absorbing the dark energy and quickly restoring his strength.

"Roya!! What the hell have you done in your life?!"

An enraged roar came from below.

Roya looked down and saw the charred Vice Admiral Johnson soaring up on a splintered wooden plank.

"So scary!"

Roya flapped his wings and flew higher with mock fear.

"Geppo?! Don't think you can run, you little bastard! I'm going to kill you!!"

Johnson stepped on air, chasing him. His eyes now glowed with darkness.

"You've got such murderous intent... Don't say scary things to a seven-year-old child," Roya said with mock innocence. "Also, don't get so emotional in a fight."

Suddenly, a violent gust swept through the sky. A vortex of swirling air caught Johnson mid-air and disrupted his movement.

"Wha—?!"

Johnson panicked. The turbulence threw off his Geppo.

At the same time, bolts of lightning roared down from the dark clouds, blasting him again and again. He fell into the sea for a second time.

"All okay down there?"

Roya panted, hovering in the air. "What's wrong with the people in this world?"

Too much meat on the bone.

He couldn't see through the water, but he could clearly sense Johnson's seething hatred and evil intent.

"Damn it...!"

Johnson surfaced, still burning from the lightning strikes. His body smoked, and the dark Haki around him faded.

He looked around—the ship was in ruins, marines either unconscious or drowning.

"I'LL KILL YOU!!"

Veins bulged on his forehead.

"You bastard! I swear I'll kill you!!"

His rage turned into madness. "SCUM! MONSTER! DIE! DIE, DAMN YOU!!"

Johnson slashed wildly at the sky, unleashing a series of desperate, uncontrolled flying slashes.

But Roya was a hundred meters in the air. At that height, dodging was simple.

"What a waste," Roya sighed. "So much skill, yet so little control over his emotions. That's the end of it."

Darkness filled Johnson's eyes. His anger and bloodlust fully consumed his will—and Roya let those emotions grow unchecked.

It didn't take long for the sea to fall quiet once more.

Later, back on deck...

"How was it, Captain?"

Roya proudly showed Rocks the latest addition to his collection. "My new minion squad!"

Five men stood in formation.

Leading them was Vice Admiral Johnson. Beside him stood a brigadier general and three colonels.

All five had completely black eyes. They were now under Roya's control.

"This is the first time I've captured navy ghosts!" Roya grinned.

"Disgusting ability," Whitebeard muttered, eyes narrowed. "Even if they're enemies, there's no need to humiliate them like that."

"Heh."

Roya scratched his head and laughed awkwardly.

"He's just a kid, Newgate."

Rocks patted Roya's head. "Don't be so hard on him."

He's just a child… but if he's already this twisted, what will he become when he grows up?

Whitebeard shook his head. Forget it. Why should a pirate care so much?

"Well done, Roya!"

Rocks glanced at the navy puppets and nodded in approval. "Your abilities will be key in the coming war!"

Roya's frontal combat skills still needed refining—but his puppeteer ability was terrifying.

"Hehehe."

Roya just laughed quietly.

The next day, near the coast of Elbaf…

"It's spectacular!"

Roya stood at the bow, gazing at the land in the distance. "The land of warriors… Is this the strongest nation in the world?"

Ahead stood a colossal tree, its canopy blotting out the sun. The Adam Tree.

Its canopy split into two layers, with waterfalls cascading from each level.

This was Elbaf—the realm of the giants.

The land itself was formed by the ground and the massive tree, split into three layers: the Underworld, the World of the Living, and the Heavens.

Roya also noticed a massive, ancient sword stabbed into the tree and embedded in the earth—no one knew who had once wielded it.

Meanwhile, at Elbaf's port…

The giants had spotted the approaching ship.

"That's... the ship of the Rocks Pirates!"

"The Rocks Pirates are here! Prepare for battle!"

"Notify King Harald immediately!!"

When the ship docked, Roya was greeted by the sight of multiple giants, weapons drawn.

"Captain, the locals don't seem very friendly."

(Make sure to give Powerstones if cool)
