Chapter 165: The Emanator of Propagation
Herta Space Station.
"So this is the Emanator you created by combining Propagation and Omnipotent Cells?"
In a giant cultivation tank, the Swarm King: Skaracabaz was immersed in a culture medium. A terrifying aura emanated from it, making one's blood run cold. The hiss of insects seemed to echo in one's ears, as if capable of awakening the deepest fears in a creature's genes.
Kenji watched with great interest. Ruan Mei is a true goddamn genius.
"The Omnipotent Cells are quite good. I used them to clone a relatively complete Swarm King: Skaracabaz, without the time limit," Ruan Mei said, her fair hand touching the cultivation tank. She was quite satisfied. However, although the time limit was gone, there was still a gap between it and a true Emanator.
"If others find out about this, you'll probably be wanted by all the major factions," Kenji joked.
The Swarm of Propagation was a feared existence by many, let alone a bug that could wield the combat power of an Emanator.
"Do you think I need to care about them?" Ruan Mei's eyes were indifferent, showing no emotional fluctuation.
"Haha, as expected of you. Then let me give you a hand." A smirk played on Kenji's lips. The starfire of Aurelion Sol flowed into the Swarm King's body. This was the power of creation, so the Swarm King had no rejection of it at all.
Thump, thump, thump—
A powerful heartbeat echoed through the space.
The two of them could clearly feel the Swarm King's life force growing stronger and stronger.
"What a beautiful transformation," a ripple of emotion flashed through Ruan Mei's eyes.
The Swarm King's massive body was enveloped in a purple-pink cocoon of light. With each heartbeat, the light would pulse. Ruan Mei watched the data on the monitor continuously climb. The Swarm King was rapidly advancing towards becoming a true Emanator. To be able to witness the birth of an Emanator here... even someone as indifferent as her felt her heart surge at this moment.
"Kenji, this Emanator of Propagation, transformed by your power... will it obey your commands?" Ruan Mei asked. She wasn't worried about the short-lived Swarm King, but a true Emanator... no one could predict if it would attack them on the spot.
"It will."
A few system hours later.
CRACK—
The cultivation tank shattered. An incomparably massive amount of Imaginary energy surged out, and at the same time, a strange fragrance filled the room.
Cracks appeared on the cocoon of light, and a purple-pink powder wafted out. In it were the shadows of what seemed to be insectoid butterflies in flight, giving off a dreamlike and alluring hue.
A hand stretched out from a crack. There was no mistaking it; it was not the limb of an insect, but a fair, human-like hand.
Ruan Mei: "?"
Ruan Mei was stunned. What was going on? Why would a human hand appear?
Another hand stretched out. The two hands tore the crack wider, and a humanoid creature about 1.7 meters tall appeared. She had several pairs of strangely colored wings on her back, and her waterfall of long, light pink to purple gradient hair flowed down her back. A form-fitting soft armor with strange patterns clung to her curvaceous body.
Her features were incomparably stunning. Her iridescent, mesmerizing eyes radiated an astonishing charm, as if a single glance could steal one's heart and soul, turning them into a puppet under her control.
"What's going on?" Kenji scratched his head. How had the Swarm King turned into a human form?
"This aura... is very strong," Ruan Mei's expression was a little grave. This was no ordinary Emanator. Of all the Emanators she had ever seen, this one was the strongest. Although it no longer had the Swarm King's massive body, its aura had not weakened. It was as if its immense energy had been condensed into its current form.
"Greetings, My Lord," a soft voice came from her mouth. She did not turn against them. Her mesmerizing eyes showed only intimacy and reverence, as if she were in the presence of her creator.
"Swarm King, how did you turn into this?" Kenji asked curiously. Did the Dragon King's power of creation have this kind of effect? It was actually possible.
"My Lord, the power you bestowed upon me has allowed me to advance further on the Path of Propagation. I have seen the shadow of the former Swarm Tyrant."
Although the Aeon of Propagation, Tayzzyronth, had been smashed into hero fragments by the Amber King, the Path of Propagation still existed. Otherwise, how could there still be a Swarm?
"Can you become an Aeon?" Ruan Mei asked with great interest.
"Not for now, My Lady. The crucial moment has not yet arrived," the Swarm King shook her head. "Although the Swarm Tyrant is dead, its will remains. If I wish to replace it, then I must devour it." The Swarm King stretched out her tongue and licked her lips.
Because of Kenji's power, she could be said to be the Pathstrider who had walked the furthest on the Path of Propagation. The vast majority of Emanators were no match for her. She could now be called the Swarm Empress, a being with the potential to become the next Swarm Tyrant. The power of Aurelion Sol was just too overpowered.
Ruan Mei's eyes lit up. To personally witness the reappearance of the Aeon of Propagation (a new god) would definitely bring her a great deal of inspiration.
"My Lord, I can feel the aura of the Swarm Tyrant's remains. I wish to devour it." The Swarm Empress looked through the space station, deep into the cosmos.
Kenji understood immediately. It was probably the remnant of Propagation that had fallen on the Xianzhou Luofu. But since it had fallen into the hands of the Xianzhou, it was unlikely they would hand it over. After all, the Xianzhou called the Aeon of Propagation the "Plague of Locusts." How could they hand over such a dangerous thing?
"Swarm Empress, you have the ability to create Swarm Bugs now, right?" Kenji asked. The reason Propagation was so difficult to deal with was because of its ability to be a one-man army. The bugs were overwhelming, simply impossible to kill completely. Otherwise, the Swarm in the universe would have gone extinct long ago.
The Swarm Empress nodded. A single Sting Bug quietly appeared. Ruan Mei could feel that among Pathstriders, this single Sting Bug could be ranked at a mid-tier level.
"If you can devour a part of an Aeon's divine body, what is the probability that you will touch upon Aeonhood?" Kenji asked.
"The probability is very high. Over fifty percent."
She wanted to improve so badly. The old Swarm Tyrant was a thing of the past. The new Empress was about to ascend the throne.
"We will allow you to become the Aeon of Propagation, but we do not wish for you to walk the old path of the Swarm Tyrant." The destruction caused by the Swarm was too severe. If left unchecked, a new universal locust plague would be ignited once more.
"My Lord, I will surpass the Swarm Tyrant."
"Go, Swarm Empress. I hope that the next time we meet, you have already ascended to godhood."
"I will not disappoint you, My Lord."
The Swarm Empress vanished.
"You're just letting her go to the Xianzhou Alliance to rob them of a divine body?" Ruan Mei asked. She had originally planned to cooperate with the Xianzhou to study the Aeon's body. Now, if she were discovered, she would be put directly on the Xianzhou's wanted list. Of course, she didn't care about that.
"So what? Do you care, Ruan Mei?" Kenji shrugged.
How could something done by a scholar be called robbing? The things of Propagation belonged to Propagation. The Swarm Empress was just going to take back what belonged to her. This was called returning an item to its rightful owner. The Xianzhou couldn't just hold onto someone else's property and not let go.
Ruan Mei shook her head helplessly. The Xianzhou was probably in for some trouble now. This was no ordinary Emanator.
Hope the Xianzhou will be fine.
