Alan watches as his patient walks out the door. Nurse Milan outside peeks inside." Dr., the next patient."
Alan shakes his head." Not now, five minutes later." Nurse Milan nods and closes the door. Alan started rubbing his head. His head feels heavy because of the frequent use of mind-sensing ability. A patient came late, so he had to use his ability three times close to each other. He can use it fifteen times a day, but he cannot consecutively use it more than three times.
Alan was not born with this ability but acquired it later in his life. The reason may be because of his birth. He is special as he remembers his past life memory. He was a high-school student and was crossing the road and the last think he saw was the face of truck-kun. And the next thing he remember was he was in a new world and he was five years old.
Alan was born again in a new world- Aetheria. But he doesn't remember anything before he was five years old. He doesn't know the reason why he doesn't remember anything, but according to the headmistress of the orphanage. He was found on the steps of the orphanage at early morning with a card. On the card, only his name, Alan, was written with no family name, his birthday, and a bank account number.

Alan doesn't hear the reason why he was in jail. But says," I'm coming." And cuts the call.
Alan, after around three hours, as the sun completely sets, stops his car at the parking lot of the West Haven police station.
As Alan climbs out of his car, a sleek and expensive car glides to a halt at the parking space beside his car. While he closed his car door, a man who he thought was the driver emerged, opening the back-passenger door for a woman whose hair radiates light when the light of the lamp falls on it.
Her platinum blonde hair cascades down her back with curls at the end, her eyes are the startling blue of a clear sky, her figure is a symphony of curves that he wants to run his hand up and down. The woman cast a fleeting glance at him, and Alan's heart slowed down for a moment, seeing her angelic face. Then the woman walks away toward the police station.
Alan shook his head, chastising himself. He had Marcus to worry about, not some beautiful stranger he'd never see again.
Alan follows behind her at a distance and pushes through the station doors to enter. He walks further inside and watches the woman walk toward the back of the station. He cast his eyes away from her, towards desks which manned by patrolmen. All of them are empty. He approaches a patrolman he doesn't recognise. He thinks the patrolman must be from the outbound station.
He inquires about Marcus from the patrolman. The patrolman asked his identity and he said brother and the patrolman believe after seeing his identification. Then he was told to take a seat, someone would inform him later if he can meet Marcus.
Taking a seat, Alan thought of the day he took Marcus's family name as his own. It was the day after he reached adulthood. He has known Marcus since he started schooling. But become familiar with Marcus when he came to live in the orphanage. Marcus that time was in depression after his parent died, and his little brother and sister were taken away by his late father's and late mother's families. He was left in the orphanage.
Alan, with his ability, took care of Marcus and got him out of depression. And from then Marcus became his little brother, even when he is three years older than him. For Alan now, Marcus is his family and doesn't matter if they are not related.
A few minutes later, Alan was called inside by Chief Mason. He felt air is knockout from his body when the chief broke out the news that Mason is the prime suspect in the murder of Sofia Rodriguez. Alan didn't believe Marcus killed Alan, as two days ago used his ability on Marcus. And there was no thought of Marcus that he planned to kill Sofia.
He also got to know why Marcus was the prime suspect. Sofia's phone was found on the nightstand of Marcus's bedroom. And according to the information they gathered, Marcus was the last person to see Sofia, and even more is blood stains were discovered in Marcus's bathroom. Now they have been sent to DNA testing, and if found to match Sofia's DNA, then they will prove that Marcus's innocence would be an insurmountable task.
Finally, after leaving the Chief's cabin, he meets with Marcus in his cell. A government-appointed lawyer hovering outside, urging Marcus to plead guilty before the DNA report comes out. Marcus, with his face etched with disbelief, vehemently denies the accusation.
" Why would I plead guilty to something I didn't do?" he demands.
Alan, witnessing the ordeal, uses his ability on them after reading their surface thoughts. He dismisses the lawyer on the spot and immediately calls the mother of a former patient, a woman who works at one of Brodwin City's top law firms.
After arranging a new lawyer, Alan leaves the station, heading directly for Marcus's house to check. He now knows Marcus is not the killer, so he has decided to prove Marcus's innocence. He has to find the killer.
Marcus's home would be the start of his investigation. He stops the car at the driveway in front and, climbing out of the car, he looks around. As it is a residential area, no cameras are placed outside. He, with a spare key, opens the door and wrinkles his nose as he steps inside.
He waves his hand in front of his nose to drive away the sickening, cloying smell of decay hung heavy in the air. He looks around the house to check if something has died inside the house, but the sorry state of the place, a testament to the police's thorough, if destructive, search, makes it difficult.
He finds that foul odour leads to the back door and walks outside and staring at the small stretch of wood. Before he can follow where the stench leads, his excellent hearing picks up the front door locks being open again. His excellent hearing is the result of breaking his body limit slightly multiple times. He turns around, returns inside the house, can comes face to face with the stunning woman from outside the police station.
"Who are you?" they both utter in unison.
